View Full Version : Impervious and Mastermind
I just read the Mastermind + Impervious thread
http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10916&perpage=15&pagenumber=2
which basically says that the uber-judge has ruled that Impervious doesn't work with Mastermind for reducing damage.
I'm just posting this new thread just to make sure that this ruling is still true.
I hope it's not.
Is it?
As far as I know...
This is still the ruling....
Masterminded damage will ignore Impervious.
Basically, Impervious doesn't work with Mastermind for reducing damage.

Not to be negative about it but, is there any talk of changing what Impervious is vunerable to since IMO it's one of the worst inconsistancies in the rule book? With all these cases where it won't work, they should never have come out with this "power". It's like coming out with a new power called "immobilize" that is like Incapacitate that it gives the character 2 tokens and pushes all at once, it's more expensive than Inc, but then can never be used if the figure already has 1 token or better, or it will push you if you use it. (sigh)

Yeah man, I agree with you, it should work like toughness, except subtract 2 instead of 1, and miss completely on a roll of 5 or 6. Period. The end.
It backs up my theory that all HeroClix documentation are written in Chinese, translated to German, then finally translated to English.
The wording and interpretations of Impervious are a disgrace. Surely they could have said 'for description of this super power, see descriptions for Super Senses and Invulnerability'.......

it s quite clear, TARGET of a close combat or ranged attack, now go look at TOUGHNESS...it says any source of damage from close combat ranged or SUPER POWERS, i m sure toughness can reduce masterminded damage by 1, but impervious, it only makes sense, master mind? you outthought someone and he somehow actually outthought you quicker enough to be imperivous to it? joke! i think the rules are as clear as it can be
