The Second Dial project is an HCRealms project to make new, printable dials for old clix. Brought about due to the uncertain future of the game, the Second Dial (or Re-Dial) project intends to go through the old heroclix sets one at a time in the order of their release. These dials will be compiled and printed, then made available to players via a not-for-profit model. These dials are not tournament legal, and are strictly for home games.
Due to the recent news regarding Heroclix's imminent return, it's important to mention our continued dedication to the project. If an approved play system comes up, it does make our dial designs home-game only, but I'm sure there are plenty of folks still interested in some new dials for their Infinity Challenge figures, if even for home games only.
Anyone can create a dial, and EVERYONE is encouraged to participate, regardless of experience or character knowledge; but only for the characters currently being solicited for, and only within the window of time defined in the thread. Watch the Dreams and Desires forum for threads like this one, soliciting for dials for the next successive character.
When you've designed your dial, please do not post it in this or any other thread! Instead, submit it in a PM to myself, and I will compile the dials together into one list, making sure that the formatting of each dial is unidentifiable and that the names of the creaters are removed. I will be the only person involved in the process who knows which Realms member made each dial.
The Voting Process
We're attempting a new format for voting. First, dials will be posted in a "Designer Jam" thread, where people are welcome to come in and tear apart the submitted dials. I'm really hoping these threads are very active, as they will be the 'playtesting' of the figures.
Then, the Council will choose their top 3, based on the comments, modifications, etc. that appear in the Designer Jam.
These dials may be returned to the original creator, and minor modifications be suggested.
From there, the dials that end up in the final poll will be posted in a thread with a poll, hopefully being placed on the front page. There, the entire HCRealms community will be able to vote on their favorite dial. This will be done for each figure; each Rookie, Experienced, and Veteran version will be dealt with individually. The final dial will be included in the Second Dial set.
The first set will be called Infinity War (based on Infinity Challenge). We will go through the figures in order, and usually 2 REVs at a time. Submit dials ONLY when they are asked for, and ONLY for the people requested. This will save my inbox for bursting.

These might very well be some of the hardest dials to redo, with the point costs they're assigned and the horrid original dials...
Rules for dial design:
You MUST keep the figure's point cost, printed range, number of targets, team ability, speed symbol, attack symbol, defense symbol, and damage symbol; basically, if it's on the dial top, it's got to stay.
You MUST keep the same keywords.
Keep in mind existing figures when estimating point cost; you know the point cost you're shooting for, and you can look at what other figures are doing at that cost. A point cost calculator is not required, as their validity is questionable, but try to keep balance and use your judgement.
Currently character cards are planned to be made available for the Second Dial sets, so you can use Special Powers or Traits if you want.
As these dials are alternatives to the originals instead of replacements, keep in mind that the originals will still be around. I agree that there should be a 6 point Thug that does nothing but provide stats, but don't make your Rookie the same as the existing one, since that one will still be available.
Post in this thread if you've submitted a dial, but do not identify anything about your dial; that way, we know who's involved. After the dials have been posted in a public poll, you can choose whether or not to identify your dials. Keep in mind that it may affect votes either way to identify your own. If your dial doesn't make it to the final cut, don't get discouraged; there are 3 different takes on each character (generally), and yours may show up in one of those three. If not, there's tons more characters to design.
The dials for Elektra and Wasp must be submitted to me via PM no later than 4:30 PM (CT) on Tuesday, September 8th (5 days). If you have any questions, post them in this thread, so my answers can help everyone.
