A lot of the "Whine About Getting Killed Early" thread is taken up by empty threats and terrible promises.

This thread will be devoted solely to those who have been wronged and are seeking vengeance. Retribution of any kind. This is where you get those tokens and hand them out to your enemies, arch-nemesis, or just that guy that looked at you funny in the mall.

Anything goes...well, almost anything...there is one rule, and here it is...

NO TALKING ABOUT ONGOING GAMES!!!

That's it. Rule #1 and Rule #1000. There is no other, so don't break it.

Now bring that boiling blood caused by those who enacted evil upon you over here and vent a little. Vengeance will be ours.

Well, at least I have a ton of revenge tokens handed out now.

Vicious gets a reprieve for being a cop.

Rokk for saying me jumping to "Misdirection" too quickly gets one. He gets a second one for this little nugget, "Honestly, Ice you're acting more like a cornered Mafioso pulling out one of -your- favourite movies."

PaxZrake gets one for saying "Go ahead and speak, but you're gonna hang anyway." Thanks for the benefit of the doubt.

Hail_Eris and Carlos had to vote for me, reprieve there. Actually, you know what...nope...I called you both out as Mafia and I was right. Revenge tokens for being too obvious.

Who said that my "Bodyguard" claim was too easy and thereby made me scummy and also insinuated that I'm really that bad of a player? He gets one too. AH! It was ViciousX. You know what. He does get a revenge token.

Any other townie who voted for me gets one.

Batfink especially for setting me up in the first place!!!! He is definitely getting one.

I will collect these revenge tokens in slowly and methodically, but I will collect them all.

Please realize the tongue in cheek nature of the above post. However, don't underestimate the threat.

The trick was, he was a bodyguard *and* a reverse tracker.

Just as you were a doctor and guide.

With those powers being potentially part time, I included two. That, and the mafia was pretty strong, I had to beef up the town a bit.

Sorry, can't back this one. My absence is so regular during the school year that someone other that me actually coined the phrase "Grinner's Lament." I figure if I've actually got a term for my absence (and the rassa-frassin' number of times I've been lynched just because I couldn't defend myself) I'm going to claim an exemption from your rule even if it is adopted :grin:

Oh, and even though we're rolling into OOTS #3, Hatut Zeraze still has a revenge token from game one. :p:laugh:

Personally, I have never seen a strategy on a proboard stating so-and-so is always offline for a set if time, we should drive a lynch on them because they can't defend themselves...

A revenge token will definitely be issued by the high command for that act. I have been lynched before in that scenario. Never cool. Ever.

As a matter of fact most revenge tokens will be issued. Then it is on you to collect.

I have started a list of tokens that have been lent out from the vengeance library. They are in the 2nd post. Please report when you are returning them and how you got your sweet, sweet retribution.

I'd say I'm mafia or SK 80+% of the time, and I have never thought, or seen anyone say "Let's target so and so because they aren't online". Ever.

On one occasion I saw the opposite happen. That's about it,

Hey, I'm not saying people aren't lynched while they are offline. I just don't believe there is ever a conscious effort to target someone that is not online.

In fact, I think it's the opposite. Players who are not online for long periods of time are intentionally ignored by Mafia because it's a vote that won't be cast.

I have been lynched at least 5 times when I was absent, when if I was around to respond, the lynch probably would not have happened. And one time, you were the one that led the lynch. :cheeky:

Grinner's Lament is real.

(And while I am pulling out of games due to this and other things, I am thinking of running OOTS3 anyway. I can run while at work, if I get a volunteer vote-counter/daypower tracker during the day.)

That's a different argument. If a player isn't posting, then they are not participating and are possibly remaining quiet so they do not give anything away or mess up as scum. It's not always true, obviously. But from a game perspective, I'd rather randomly kill a non-poster than go No Lynch.

Of course, I'm bloodthirsty.

That would have been the Thundercats game when Thawmus and I was trying everything in our power to shift the game to the mafia's side.

Well, I'd say we were in "#### it" mode, and were just trying to make sure the town lost. We knew who the serial killer was (though I forget now), and pretty much just vouched for each other.

I tried for several days to get Truff lynched, because her rate of success was "too high for her to be a true cop". She nailed like 3 or 4 mafia guys in a row, and kept the rate up. She came a vote away from biting it. Shadow and I were laughing it up on the sidelines.

Then Rokk came back from his vacation to be the voice of reason, and then pondered as to why someone would try and off him before he got back. :cheeky:

If we could have lynched you and I think we were 1 vote away. It would have been a blast and felt like we achieved a super hard alternative win condition. But NO! Rokk shot the plan all to hell when we were so very close. :(

Because my next Mafia Game project was about my Never release Novel "Heaven" but that is SOOO Dark and strange that can blow everybody's mind. :p

I doubt that. Kontrol doesn't strike me as the vengeful type, despite how frustrated he was with me. Still, I maintain that in a game as crazy as that one was, just about any decision I made would have had reasoning behind it. Relatively.

I was a replacement player, so that stuff didn't phase me none. Shadow and I just knew that as soon as you'd come back to the game, you'd bring light to my darkness, and ruin all our plans to give the game an edge. So we tried killing you just before that happened, only to find out you would live through it, and then commence with your rational thought and sense-making! :angry:

EDIT: It should probably be noted that the game got an edge anyways. We prolonged our own deaths long enough that the serial killer got to survive a lot longer than originally planned. Still, would have loved to have hung Truffle. That would have been a proud moment.

Probably something short and sweet... got Plushy (I was amazed how popular that was), First Night Death 2, Movie Mafia 2, and some other ideas.

Well, I can say Malakim had one on him for Thunderbolts, but that was paid off when I killed him in one of the zombie games. Man I worked so hard to make it to the end in Thunderbolts, laying it all on the line multiple times. Then right at the end...arg! Made up for it though when I deduced he was a no-goodnik and did him in during the zombie game.

Can't say I've had any need for them outside of that.

IIRC, I was copped/caught red-handed in that game. I don't think that's much of a deduction. :cheeky:

I had just figured out you'd killed me in one or two other games around that time (or helped get me killed). It was definitely the most crushing defeat I've felt playing these games (although Transformers I comes close, we were so very darn close and it all fell apart at the end).

Frankly, at that point... I dunno, K-Ness would have to confirm it, but I think we were pretty much in a no-win stalemate there with the three of us. JOH couldn't die permanently, neither could pbdeberry, but I could blow one of the two up before they could reach majority since my mafia kill was a daykill. :p

With what I know of my role, and what I know of the other two... yeah, a draw would be the likely outcome. And I was so proud of my claim, it was positively Rokkian, because it was 95% true. Just that little "mafia" bit I left out. :grin:

That, and All Stars 4, I think, were probably my two best performances.

That was easily the most frustrated I was in a game. At that point I think there was only two or three townies left anyway.

The game was unbalanced, to say the very least. Fun, frustrating, and crazy as hell, but unbalanced.

I felt pretty bad about the whole thing, but in the same situation again, knowing what I knew (which was obviously not enough), I probably would do it the same way.

Stringing them alone, or slow playing it so they have a chance to get attached to the game, that's revenge. When I take revenge on people, I want them to feel like someone has gotten even with them.

Well, I guess I would have placed a token on Iceman for Pirates, etc., but he's not playing any more games. Unless someone can talk him into playing more games. And then give me a daykill power. That would work.
