Ok, I think i need some help, I just entered a 100pt tournament. I got worked!!!!! This was my first tourny too. My team consisted

Hydra medic V 16
Bullseye E 31
Pyro R 27
Sheild medic V 16
Thug E 8
total : 98 pts

I think my first mistake was i had no one for leadership...........

From there can some one fill me in on a better team?

Now i'm going into a 500pt tourney with only 2 turns..... can some one fill me in???

I'm not an expert in making 100pt games but I might be of some help.

1. Never go below the point limit. If your opponent has full 100pts and you're only 98, you're forced to take the initiative the whole game because if you both passed all the way, you'll lose since your opponent has a higher count.

2. Two medics for a 100pt game may be too much

3. Try getting someone with leadership. Especially in a 100 pt game, that extra movement counts a lot.

4. Avengers and Brotherhood can do free movement, that's great mobility.

5. Get some flyers.

6. Bullseye is your only "threat" piece there. Pyro isn't much threat especially if you're facing off against a U Wasp with a 19 Defense.

7. Try to maximize your points. Thugs aren't that useful except for fodder.

For a 500pt team, use Thor Vet :D (heheh...) He really rocks! But since you only have two moves, make sure you put in those free movers for support (R Panther, E BLack Cat, Doombots) as well as a leadership fig (White Queen E maybe or if you prefer the Vet Doombot)

Doctor Doom Vet is an even more threatening piece in a large game. But he's a skill piece and a wrong move might cost you. Look out for outwitters turning off his mastermind.

Cheers and goodluck! The more you play, the better you'll get. ;)

Thanks for the imput Teletran

I have basically every figure but 11 of them, just haven't found many tourney's till now. But regarding the 500 pt game coming up i'm looking for just a base structure i can go with. I know when it comes to HC, it's the indian, not the arrow.:D

ok... but with dud arrows, the indian's not gonna make it anyway... but yes, it's the clix figs, plus you as the strategist, the map knowledge and the lucky dice which all need to work together to win.

Anyway, if Firelord isn't banned as a house rule, you definitely should look out for it. (either use it or be prepared to fight against it. He's still plenty tough but can be beaten)

As for structure, read up more posts here and you should get a feel of what kind of tactics you want to employ.

By that, I mean how would this team seem to you?
V Thor 187
V She-Hulk 120
E Dr. Strange 71
E Firelord 81
V AIM Medic 17
E Quicksilver 24

Total 500pts

Cheers!

If it's the latter, that's more interesting. Consider a Doombot army, as you need lots of free move taxis. Take at least two Veterans for Leadership, and add a Doom or an Experienced Ultron to boost Attack values using the Sinister Syndicate ability.

With actions in such short supply, it'd be worth having the MOE ability too. You'll be able to slingshot your troops across the board on one turn, soak up your opponent's attacks (two or three at most, and Fantastic Four or Defenders team abilities are good for soaking damage), then retaliate en masse the following turn.

As for 100 point teams, I'd go with fewer figures than you did. I'd either want a free-move taxi paired with a good attacker, or a Stealth team - Unique Elektra and Unique Wolverine are probably the best combo, if you have them. Nick Fury, Black Panther and Experienced Cap are good Stealth figures too. And of course there's the Bat-team, if DC is allowed. Vet Nightwing is arguably the best non-flier in the game.

Wasn't the original post on a 100 pt game? Aquaman R. is a must. 27 pts and you get leadership, 3 damage (only one click) and super strength (I think only one click). He goes down fast but can dish it out also. Hydra Operative #128 LE is also a good source of cheap leadership at 16 pts.

I have to agree with the teletran that two medics is overkill for a 100 pt. game.

Good Luck!

As far as a 100pt game goes, I don't even think about putting in a medic. I'd rather do massive, massive damage.

My team would be:

Unique Wolverine - 60
Vet Wasp - 37

97 points. Since wasp moves for free, you place your objects so that wolverine will be in one and he covers Wasp. On his first click he has stealth. Use it to your advantage to place objects down so that he is always covered and your wasp is behind him, so that he would have to do some massive flanking to kill her. Now it's possible that your opponent would have a combo of exp wasp and rookie firelord, in which case it'll be a tough battle as a rookie firelord has average odds that he is going to wipe out your wasp. That's just a risk. Just make sure that his wasp/firelord can't flank you. If it's anyone else, then you're ok as wasp can take a 4 point hit.

Second team would be:

Exp Wasp - 33
Rookie Firelord - 66

99 points. Very simple. Pure brute power with a good defense and good attack value.

for any 100pt army i'd recommend the Vet Doombot, cheap cost for leadership/energy explosion/flight/toughness

that's my 2 cents anyway

Thorgan I like your thinking, the only reason i would go with Wasp and Firelord or Wolv U would be i don't like chancing for leadership when Wasp can move freely. But good thought with the DoomBot V if i was going for the other powers Fonebone.

I'm working with a limited amount of figs, but here's my suggestions for a 100 point team:

V Huntress (35)
R Wasp (24)
R Kingpin (28)

And 13 points to upgrade anyone or to get smaller guys.

chancing for leadership...? I'm not sure I understand. Only the unique wasp has leadership. Perhaps you're looking for a leader to possibly attack twice in a round....?

I'm sorry thorgrin, one, for miss spelling your name, two for not noticeing the doombot can act as a brotherhood or avenger for team powers giving it a free turn. I was just looking at the leadership power it had, Again a newbie mistake by me.
