hey all i made a 300 pt darkseid team that id like everyones opinion on
as far as weaknesses and changes that could be made
U Darkseid 151
E Bullseye 31
U Yellowjacket 41
R Doombot 27
R Vulture 15
R Avalanche 19
E Aim Medic 16
For a total of 300pts right on

doombot and vulture taxi around darkseid and bullseye
yellowjacket ties up opponents figs and may go after medics
avalanch protects my medic, can use barrier if needed and gives free move to my doombot ( so that i can taxi both figs and shoot in the same turn)

the team won me a tournament last nite and works very well togther
2 charecters can do 3 damage and darkseid himself just has soo many options
also doombot can do 2 damage as can avalanche which i actually did use
let me know yer thoughts

Greetings,

A thought I had was the lack of ability to deal with close combat threats. If someone were to come in with a pair of bricks via taxi I could see things going bad for your team (especially if they had the outwit to rob Darkseid of PB) I'm also not sure about LE Yellow Jacket as a glorified flying harasser, it seems like a lot of points in a team where the actions would serve better use going to Darkseid and Co. Thus I'd probably suggest a stealthed brawler (Wolverine, Elektra, Blade, Sabertooth) who could sit around Bullseye and at least make it far more risky to come up on him. (And if events warrented it Bullseye's taxi could always grab the brawler and soar them in to finish offsomething annoying to you.)

yea i know close combot threat is a factor
but thats what yellowjacket is for
see the yellowjacket im using doesnt fly its not the one from clobbering time
its the unique one
it was leap climb incapasitate and 20 defence with 8 move
so i use her as a scout and goes in and ties up figures that i dont want moving whether they be range combat experts or closecombat people that i dont wnat moviing
so yellowjacket goews in and mkaes it so they cnat moves unless they breakaway first
by that time my team has targeted them via outwit and 6 damage

i can also set up barriers to keep them away for a turn or so again giving me time to hit them with my guys

but i still do see the threat that it proposes so i know that when i see them on the otehr team i need to take them out first

Hey Pip,
Just a slight suggestion I might have. According to my calculations, the Unique Yellowjacket is only worth 39 points, not 41. Hence that brings your total down to 297. With these extra points, i can only make two suggestions:

1.) In general, you can upgrade your E AIM Medic to a V Medic for one more click of support/better stats.

2.) And this is what I would do... Unless you really really want that Hydra ability for the +1 advantage to be used by the medic and the Doombot....drop the E AIM Medic at 16 points, and add the V Checkmate Medic at 19 points for superior stats and 4 clicks of support. Since Darkseid is your heavy hitter, the Checkmate Medic would have better chances at healing him with his stats, and he can take more damage than the AIM Medic so you'll maintain Support longer.

Just my thoughts.

but umm well yellowjacket is 41 pts
vetrn yellowjacket may be 39 but unique is 41
and unfortunatly id rather use an AIM medic because of the plus one it gives (use it with the doombot as well) and they both start with an 8 attack tye hceckmate just keeps his healin longer

Hey,
Maybe u have a defect Yellowjacket piece, according to HCRealms and Wizkids, the LE Yellowjacket from the IC set is only supposed to cost 39 points. That would really bite if that piece was a defect:mad:

actually the ones listed in both wizkids and hc realms disagree
on the stats
and neither is really right also both istes disagree on the LE antmans stats as well and they have mistakes there as well
im sure someone will change it so its right

A few outlaying sites also agree with the 39 point cost, so i dunno but at least i tried :D

I would definitely playtest your team against close-combat focused mixed teams, because that is a definite weakness you may face. Not really much you can do about it, it's just the major weakness of any ranged team like this. Try it against something like this:

E Bane 76
R Hawkman 32
R Solomon Grundy 48
E Booster Gold 38
V AIM Medic 17
V Nightwing 72
R Robin 17
300 pts if my math is right

I think your guys would have severe problems with this team, which is pretty standard fare in DC, and is DC only if you replace the AIM medic with her checkmate counterpart. There are ways to beat everything, of course, but definitely try your team against something like this one to see how it does.

Maybe you are vulnerable to Mind Control because of Darkseid 8 range. Prof. X has a 10 range and can MC you to harm your own team.
