I was wondering, has anyone seen or heard of an incident, where a person was caught changing the dial on a figure? What happened to them? Do they go to Clix-hell or something worse?

Mephisto rules over Clix Hell and is a big fig

I caught a kid at the Marquee do it. I basically asked him if he was sure he'd clicked the fig enough clicks after damage. I asked him twice to make sure. At the end of the tournament, the figure I had questioned was still alive, by one click, so I asked to see it. Sure enough, doing a little math, he hadn't clicked it enough. I asked him about it, and explained how I knew, and he apologized and siad it was an honest mistake. It's hard to believe, because I did ask him at the time twice to double check. I let it go, it didn't matter in the end, I guess. His word against my suspicion.

But it was annoying that I now have to watch any other time I play him, and I've warned a couple others. Just to be safe.

Ive heard that people who are caught cheatting are either given an immediate loss for that game, the figure they were cheating with immediately dies, or they are kicked from the tournament depending on the severity of the cheating and when they're caught.

Well, ive changed dials of a few of my figures, but those figures are separated should I enter a tournament.

Id say that knowingly using a "fixed" figure in a tournament should get that person indefinately suspended from tournament play.

For fun though, I dont see a problem as long as everyone playing agrees.

I changed V Hobgoblin's dial to V Human torch's and he works way better. Running shot, EE, ES/D, and Pulse wave.

I snapped off Constrictor's arm coils, and superglued a coil to his back to make him a poor mans version of Scorpion, and gave him V Hobgoblin's dial to make him better. Coolest part is the RCE just before he gets Ko'ed to simulate him shooting at you with his tail laser/acid. He's all incapacitate until he's almost down, then he lets loose on you.

Spiderman simply has Supersenses all the way down his dial, and a second lightning bolt for 25 points more.

An the latest mod is V Quicksilver, in which I dropped the flurry and substituted Hypersonic Speed down the dial. His new point value is now 63, and he's much more useful now.

I keep a separate list for the point values of the "Fixed" figures.

As I said though, none of these ever will be used in a tourney, just for fun with my friends.

Basically, if a player is caught cheating in a tourney, he should be immediately disqualified and banned from the tournament, and this should only be done if you can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is cheating.

if it's a non-tourney game, he should be beaten by skinheads with soap wrapped in pillow cushions, or forced to watch a Julia Roberts movie.

I expect that anyone caught with a fixed dial would likely say that they didn't know and that they traded for the fig, not knowing that the dial was altered.

The only real appropriate action is to dq them from the competition and say, "Now you know it's wrong. Fix it or don't use it, but don't let us see it again."

I have to agree with you. We've seen oddities like Black Manta with Aquaman's dial, and Wizkids can make mistakes when mass poducing several 1000 figures. in that case I would say the figure has to be substituted with something else.

At a local tournament, we noticed that a newbie's Annihilus was really tough to ko (deep dial and ten(?) attack almost all the way through)... I guess we were rather newbian in our disbelief. After the tournament, as we were driving home, we realized that he had obviously switched the V Annihilus base with a V Ultron base... needless to say we were miffed... Not REALLY miffed though because we all wailed on him (in a friendly and sportsman-like way of course!) and I don't think he ko'd a single fig in any game he played. He walked away with the "sportsmanship award" for getting his arse handed to him four times... If only we had known at the time that he was cheating... we would have kicked him out... or laughed nervously and continued to wail on him for easy points.

In cases where the figure has a wrong dial, you can fix that by having everyone check to see that all of their figures' dial number (on the last KO click) matches the figure number on the top. All players should do this anyway, although some do not know about the dial number. If I ever find a modified/swapped dial on a figure before the tournament starts I will have the player drop that figure, allowing a replacement if available. If I ever find one after the tournament has started I will disqualify the player immediately and explain that he'she needs to verify all dials before trying to enter a tournament. If I ran across an actual doctored dial it would be even more sticky to deal with. I'd have to decide whether I wanted to permanently ban the player. It already disappoints and annoys me that so many players are so ultra competative in tournaments. It's about having fun not getting a piece of LE plastic. If I ever found a dial that was deliberately altered I'd probably flip out. Just one and I'd probably keep my cool facade. Two or more on one tournament team and I'd get mean.
