Thursday Nights 6:30pm - 9pm: Fun 4 All (web (http://www.f4ahobbies.com/))

The games are short because of the hours, usually 40 minutes or less. Turnout has been a regular gorup of 3-4 players. We've seen a recent spike in attendance (October 2009). The judge will sometimes play as a "bye".

Events tend to fluctuate (point values and restrictions). There are a handful of house rules, mostly relating to ignoring certain errata.

Vault of Midnight Saturday Afternoon 1:30pm until whenever (web (http://www.vaultofmidnight.com/))

A core group of two of us has recently been joined by some new players.

We try to play by the last set of "official rules", with the exception being that the judge is generous with awarding theme team bonuses.

15-Oct-2009 @ Fun 4 All (Thursday, 6:30 pm)

17-Oct-2009 @ Vault (Saturday, 1:30 pm)

400 points, unrestricted.

22-October-2009 @ Fun 4 All (Thursday, 6:30 pm)

300 points, unrestricted. It appears as if we will be increasing point totals by 100 points per week until the release of Hammer of Thor...presumably so that on the week HoT is released everyone can play their chariot and have it be a "theme team".

31-Oct-2009 @ Vault of Midnight (1:30 pm)

500 points: Unrestricted, no cardboard elements. (Including BFCs, the scenario is enough for the BFC)...Don't bring a single 500-point figure, unless you are feeling *very* lucky.

We will play the "traitor" scenario. Starting on the third turn, you will have a traitor on the opponent's team...and they have one on yours. You may reveal them on your turn, or "activate" them when your opponent assigns them an action.

29-October-2009 @ Fun 4 All (Thursday, 6:30 pm)

As I understand it: 400 points, unrestricted. One figure must be "Halloween" themed; that figure can use leadership its whole dial. It seems Batman and Spider-Man both qualify for the Halloween requirement, while not all "monsters" will, just more classic monsters like zombies and werewolves.

Also: Link to the "Traitor" scenario rules (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=258256) for the Vault event

Special Announcement for 7-Nov-2009 at the Vault of Midnight (http://www.vaultofmidnight.com/)

At NOON, the "First Saturday" gaming event is going to be a "Ticket to Ride" event. It is totally free to enter, and there are prizes.

At 1:30 pm, the clixers will be playing:

500 points of Unrestricted, no cardboard.

"In Contact with the Hulk"

Include a Hulk on your team, all figures will be "agents of the Hulk" and can opt to get Hulk powers just like In Contact With Oracle. Your Hulk will be off the map, unless the agent is KOed, at which point Hulk appears!

Note: only one damage reducer can be used (for any single cause of damage dealt) to reduce damage for an Agent of the Hulk, although an agent may possess more than one! (Pesky Outwit!)

Since I missed the last Fun4All tournament, is this week's Thursday event simply incrementing up to 500 unrestricted? Or did something else get added to it?

The next Fun4All event (5-Nov-2009) is 500 unrestricted. Nothing was added to it, but courtesy another Larry/Dan 3rd game tag-team (seriously, we need a name for this since it always happens the same way), the rules for Kinetic Accelerator with Charge/Running Shot have been changed :p.

Hey Mike I will more than likely not make it to gaming on Saturday. I know for sure that Kyle will be unable to make it as well. I finally got paid by the insurance company for my car and am hopefully going to have a new car by tomorrow :) I know the OSU game starts at 12 so I will b able to make that Saturday. Sorry to let you know so late but hopefully you will get this message in time.

Thanks for the update, I will still be there as the venue may be having an out-of-town guest (not to mention that other new players may arrive!)

I will bring the materials for the "house of cards" scenario too, in case turnout is light.

For the future:

Both Fun 4 All (Thursday, 19 Nov) and Vault of Midnight (Saturday, 21 Nov) plan on running "release week" 2-booster sealed events. I'll keep this thread informed with the status of booster arrivals/prize support for the Vault. The Sullivans (owners of the Vault) will be offering booster discounts on the game days, and if the prize pack doesn't appear I think we'll be having boosters as prizes. I buy my bricks from them, so I should know on Wednesday night what the status of in-store product is.

There is a third local store that told me they'd like to run events. I had told them months ago make sure to try to order the prize kits. I will try to visit them today and see what their plans are.

Upcoming Comic Creator schedule: Guy Davis will be at the Vault on November 28th from 6-8. Guy Davis has lately been doing lots of work for Dark Horse, and in the past he did terrific work on DC's Sandman Mystery Theatre and the astounding Indy comic Baker Street.

I don't plan on traveling that weekend, so in his honor I think I may reinstitute (for one week) the (in)famous "free Sandman" build rules: You may add U Sandman to your team for no cost except that the free figure automatically breaks any theme (I'll extend it as well to Dark Horse figures that cost equal to or less than 59 points, and bring extras for newer players to draft from). More details to follow!

Stadium Comics in Ypsilanti (about 0.5 miles from Fun 4 All) has told me that they are going to try to run events on Sundays at 1 pm. I don't have any idea what the plans are, but I assume this upcoming week would be a sealed event. They were worried they were going to get shorted on their order (through Alliance) however...so you may want to call the store to see what's what.

If you do hit Stadium, try to find out what the plans for the event are. The store has a couple of patrons that will buy heavily on release day...which means that the store might not have boosters on Sunday, or that they decide they don't want to buy anymore boosters and will instead schedule something else.

I'm going to try to get the lowdown on Vault of Midnight tomorrow.

Good news for Saturday players at the Vault.

The store was "allocated", but should have enough boosters for a 2-booster sealed event on Saturday 21 November.

The store was also sent TWO prize packs, so we should have enough maps for everyone, and prize support to last for a while! I didn't look through the prize support so I'm not sure if it's missing anything, or what we will use for the first week's prizes.

Roebeck
11/18/2009, 22:57
So I stopped by Stadium today, and they did get a bit shorted on their order, but a few customers who pre-ordered cases chose to hold off on picking them up until the rest of the order gets in, so they do have boosters for sale and they did get their prize support. As for the even on Sunday, the flier i was given said noon but he said the guy was talking about starting around one. but it will be 300 - points, NOT sealed, they will do more sealed events once they start getting their product on a regular basis.

Next Vault of Midnight event will be:

28-November-2009
Special build rules: 400 points, unrestricted with a MAXIMUM build total of 473.

For this week, in honor of Vault of Midnight guest GUY DAVIS, I am allowing a single character (no feats) to be added to your force that can bring your build total up to 473.

The extra figure has to be one that exists in clix and is associated with Guy Davis. This list of available characters is basically: DC's U Sandman and any figure that has the BPRD TA (including Rasputin). I will bring extra for players to use.

Think of it this way: You build a normal team, and you can add this extra figure up to 73 points to your force. ...or you could build a 375 point team and add a 98 point figure to you force.

Some restrictions:

You can't assign feats to the figure that puts you over 400.

You sacrifice any theme team bonus if you exceed 400 points.

Background:

Guy Davis has been involved with many cool comics projects, and he will be at the Vault between 6-8pm.

The "Bonus Figure" was a bad habit where for a couple of weeks a few different players (me included!) built teams that included an extra U Sandman that we didn't pay for.

We'll be playing for something from the HoT Prize pack that *isn't* an LE figure, expect the LE figures to be used for sealed events.

I usually play on Saturdays at Fun 4 All with a friend and my wife. We opened his case this past Saturday, and he got the exact same God Pack! I'm happy for him, but also insanely jealous, since this is the first chase figure I've ever "needed" to get!

Also had fun at the sealed deck last Thursday, despite making some stupid choices (and dealing with some annoying Kingpins!).

Upcoming Event at the Vault of Midnight:

Saturday 5-December-2009, 1:30 pm

Build a 200-point unrestricted team.

You can buy booster(s) to build up to a 400 point team, as we will be playing a 400 point game. If for some reasons the store doesn't have boosters, we will play a 200-point game.

Note: Feats on your 200 point team cannot be assigned to figures on your force from your sealed figures. You can *remove* figures from your 200 point team if you want to use more than 200 points of sealed figures.

You can buy any sealed booster packs at the store. AFAIK both Arkham Asylum and Hammer of Thor will be available. Sorry, no using any sets that you can see figures within. (maybe another time!)

Update on "Print and Play" at the Vault of Midnight

Since I cannot guarantee I can get "official copies" of HoT cardboard elements in the venue's rules binder for this Saturday's game, there will not be "print and play" allowed at this week's event.

Once I get some time, I will look into making hi-res color copies of the feats and BFCs, preferably with the store logo and contact info on the back. I'll be giving those away as I make them.

For older cardboard, until we get some clarity, please consider the following:

1) Feats prior to AA are "reprinted" (with clarifications and Errata) in the player's guides. If you want to use those you don't have to reprint them, but you MUST have a copy of your force written down with the correct wording of all feats attached. (or just bring a copy of the feat) This is for all player's benefit.

AA feats we will need an actual copy (either printed or real), until they get into the player's guide.

2) BFCs: I'd like these to be physically part of a "hand" that can be shown to opponents, and the rules must be complete and legible. All I ask right now is that whatever you print (card image or text) be accurate, legible and fit within a typical CCG sleeve.

Special objects and BSTs: until further notice, assume that they must be printouts of exact images. As some of you can imagine, I will probably allow custom images to represent certain special objects at the vault (since I made ones for the 3D objects years ago!)

tidge
12/04/2009, 21:27
I wasn't able to make any hard copies of feats yet, but I think I have a feat template I am happy with.

Here is Ambidextrous (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/album.php?albumid=675&pictureid=7772).

As I make the rest, I will place them in the same album (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/album.php?albumid=675).

Printing them at 93% scale will make them slightly larger than other feat cards, but they should fit snuggly into a standard card sleeve.

Here are the next two weeks of events at Vault of Midnight:

Saturday 12-Dec-2009 1:30 pm

300 points, restricted* "Battle for Mjolnir"

*restrictions: no figure on your force can be over 60 points. No Nanobots. No special objects.

After the first player chooses map, the second player choose sides and will place Mjolnir in any legal square that is at least 7 squares away from all starting areas. Mjolnir is an "extra" object for the event, not one of the starting objects to be placed.

Saturday 19-Dec-2009 1:30 pm

1000 points, restricted*

*the only unusual restrictions are: No Galactus, Spectre or Starro.

EDIT: to clarify, "retired" elements are otherwise allowed for the 100 point game...it just felt wrong calling it 'unrestricted' when there were restrictions!

This is our annual "big event". We may only play 2 rounds depending on time. I may also try to advance the start time depending on what players say on the 12th.

There will be a game 26-Dec-2009 at the Vault of Midnight!

Date: 26-Dec-2009
Time: 1:30 pm
Place: Vault of Midnight Ann Arbor

Event: Dick Clark's Ranarokin' New Year's Eve!

Build a 400 point team (unrestricted). No BFCs. All games will use the Ragnarok event dial.

See the event dials here. (http://hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4416431#post4416431)

Here is the basis of Ragnarok:

:prereq: All characters on a player's force that have the keyword possessed by the most characters on that force (or the character that has the highest point value, if the characters possess no common keyword) are that player's "Asgardians". Any remaining characters are that player's "Monsters". Then, characters that have the Asgardian or Monster keyword can choose to become part of the group matching their keyword. Place eight objects on the battlefield instead of six, and do not replace any of them with special objects.

:hourglass:At the end of each round.

(Brown) Treacherous Loki - Choose a friendly character. The character can use Outwit and Perplex.

(Lime) A Mob of Mjolnirs - Monsters can pick up objects as if they possessed Super Strength. All objects deal 1 additional penetrating damage when used in an attack.

(Dark Blue) March of the Trolls - Monsters modify their speed values by +2.

(Black) Rally at Vanaheim - Asgardians can use Regeneration.

(Yellow) Fall of the Trickster - Characters can't use Outwit or Perplex.

(Light Blue) The Odin Force Returns - Choose a friendly character. The character can use the following powers as if it had a range of 12: Energy Explosion, Psychic Blast, Pulse Wave, and Quake.

(Red) Last Battle - Once per action, Asgardians given an action or declared the target of an attack can modify any one of their combat values by +1 until that action resolves.

(Orange) All That Remains - The game ends immediately. Each player receives 10 fewer victory points for each character on an opposing force that was not defeated.

Vault of Midnight runs games other than Heroclix. From the recent newsletter, here are the Thursday night games:

Jan 14 - Puerto Rico - Remember Puerto Rico? This was the #1 rated game on boardgamegeek.com (http://boardgamegeek.com/) for a few years, and it looked as if the game couldn't be toppled from its perch. And with good reason. This is the standard against which many gamers measure resource management in games. Specialty buildings? Puerto Rico put that ---- on the map. If you plan on looking yourself in the mirror on Friday morning and calling yourself a Gamer, you'd do well to check this one out.
Jan. 21 - Power Grid: Factory Manager - Surprisingly, this is NOT an expansion! It's a standalone game from the same designer based in the same "Power Grid" world. I guess that means that in both worlds, they have electricity. At any rate, this is a highly reviewed, highly anticipated game that I am personally looking forward to.
Jan. 28 - Small World: With Expansions! - Small World is on my best of 2009 list. Fo sho. The new expansions were designed by fans and submitted via contest to Days of Wonder. Come by and see how they did.

500 points, no feats, no BFC. All teams must have at least one Deity keyword figure. All Deity figures have Immortal Contempt for free. All other figures will have Mortal Envy for free.

Immortal Contempt: Choose a character. The character modifies its attack value by +1 when attacking a character without the Deity or Cosmic keyword that has a point value less than its own.

Mortal Envy: The character modifies its attack value by +1 when attacking a character with the Deity or Cosmic keyword that has a point value greater than its own.

Note: After reviewing the pre-reqs it appears that 'Cosmic' is not one of them, so lets just restrict to Deity for free Immortal Contempt.

Also note:

Special Information for February Fun4All Tournaments

If an event at Fun4All has exactly eight players, instead of the scheduled event, the judge would like to run a convention-style "battle royale."

Basically, each player buys one booster. The players are split into two pods of four, and each player is paired up with a teammate in their pod. The pods draft their boosters; you get to play everything you draft. For the first round, the teams in the two pods face off, and there will probably be "shock the turtle" rules in effect. If I recall correctly, once one player's figures are out, the team is out.

After the first round, the two winning teams face off, and characters are not healed between rounds. When one player's force is eliminated, it becomes a free-for-all among the remaining players.

I also imagine the two non-winning teams from the first round would play against each other with healed-up characters during the second round for this event.

Here is an update for the events scheduled for Stadium Comics on Golfside drive. They play at Noon on Sundays. I don't know what if any house rules there are.

Feb 7 2010: Hopeless Overcast (600 points unrestricted). Each player must build two forces. One force consists of Colossal Figures the other does not. A 2d6 roll before each round determines who plays what. Colossal figures don't get to use BFC.

Feb 14 2010: 400 points restricted (I don't know what that means). No BFC. Damage Control BFC is in effect each round.

Feb 21 2010: 300 points restricted (I don't know what that means)

Feb 28 2010: 500 points restricted. No BFC. Each player must bring an event dial. 2d6 roll at the beginning of each round determines which player's event dial is in play.

restricted (I don't know what that means).

I'm pretty sure since its on an event with no other special rules that it means restricted from Topps/Wizkids where they made it so the older sets couldn't be used. Basically you can use figures from the collector sets (2099, Giants, etc), The Fantastic 4 and LoSH starters, the Days of Future Past set the new Sentinel came in, All the character card sets, Supernova, and Origins. If you look at the units section you'll see just above the set names a green line with Tournament Legal above it then to the right of that a red line with Unrestricted above that. Whatever is under the green line you can use and whatever is under the red line you cannot. Hope this info helps.

Also Tidge since I couldn't make it to Fun 4 All tonight and I don't see the 2/11 format anywhere can you please put that up as well so I know what to build in case I can make it up there next week.

They also have a bit of a different policy for PnP, here is what the judge sent me in a PM;

"Policy on "print and play" On (restricted) formats print and play is not allowed (unless they are the lost feats and B/F/Cs from Hammer of thor) In (Unrestricted) formats, such as this Sunday (Jan 24th) "print and play" are allowed UNLESS the feat, object, B/F/C are LEs (old prizes from previous sets)"

There are no keyword bonuses for this event.
Every figure will be given the (regular) F4 TA instead of any other TA it may posses.
Each player can provide up to 2 BFCs that will go into a pool, there will be a single, random BFC in play for all maps at the same time.

Ok local players, here is an event I want to run at the Vault of Midnight:

27-Feb-2010 (Saturday)
1:30 PM
400 points, unrestricted* "War of Light"

(No theme team bonuses for this event)

There is a restriction: You must build a team where every member satisfies the prerequisites of a custom feat, as seen in this gallery (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/album.php?albumid=767). Nobody (except me) knows what the feats are, but you know the pre-reqs and the feat cost.

Think of the feats as a sort of "Alternate Team Ability" for your force, which is meant to be inspired by one of the colors of the 'emotional spectrum' as seen in the current Green Lantern Comics.

The costs and pre-reqs for the feats are:

The Red Lanterns
Pre-reqs: Monster or Brute keyword(s), OR Battle Fury (anywhere on dial)
Cost: 5 points per figure

Agent Orange
Pre-reqs: No other feats can be assigned to a member of your force.
Cost: 0 points per figure

The Sinestro Corps
Pre-reqs: Sinestro Corps or Manhunters keyword(s)
Cost: 4 points per figure

The Green Lantern Corps
Pre-Reqs: The Green Lantern Team Ability
Cost: 0 points per figure

The Blue Lanterns
Pre-Reqs: Blue Lantern Corps keyword OR
Support (anywhere on dial) AND Point Value > 50
Cost: 5 points per figure

The Indigo Tribe
Pre-reqs: No power, ability, trait or feat that reduces damage dealt (anywhere on dial)
Cost: 5 points per figure

The Star Sapphires
Pre-reqs: Zamaron or Star Sapphires keyword(s) OR
Incapacitate, Barrier AND Telekinesis (anywhere on dial)
Cost: 5 points per figure

If there is a particular character you think ought to qualify for a certain feat but does not, PM me. I have tried to balance the feats in terms of points and how well they will play against each other. There are a few oddball characters that qualify for multiple feats (LE Ultron could be both Blue and Red!) but such is life.

Participation prize will be a copy of the feat you choose. First place and fellowship(s) get to pick a second feat. If the event is well-received maybe we can run it semi-regularly up to the release of the new starter?

TeeJeep
02/14/2010, 01:38
so do all characters need to be on the same team (all red lanterns) or do you mix them up?

tidge
02/14/2010, 08:07
For the first event, every character must be on the same team (even if they may qualify for more than one ring); that team is the feat card you get at the start of the event. Future weeks will not require everyone qualify for the same corps, but if they do they can have their ring at the start of the event (if they don't already have it).

After the first event, everyone should have two 'rings' so for future events you can either build a team specifically to get a ring/feat at the start, or just wait until the end when everyone can claim another. (Anyone who joins late can always get a ring. Notice that "Agent Orange" doesn't have any pre-requisistes)

If the series goes well, we can run a 'Rise of Nekron' event at the end.

It should go without saying: the custom feats are only for special events

so do all characters need to be on the same team (all red lanterns) or do you mix them up?

To repeat (or perhaps clarify): For the first event every figure on the team has to qualify for a given feat. This is to represent a particular Corps being out and about and encountering other corps. Every figure on your force will have to pay for the feat you choose.

For future events (if we have them), you won't have to play all of a single corps.

War of Light (week 2)

400 points, unrestricted. No theme bonuses for this event.

Special rules follow:

If you didn't play last week, see this thread (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4570955#post4570955). Don't worry about "falling behind", you simply have to build a team in which everyone qualifies for one of the revealed ring colors. You get that feat at the start of the event. (or build a team without rings!)

Players can use any of the feats/rings they got last week. (Everyone got two), the only restriction is this: if you use a (ring) feat, every figure that qualifies for it has to pay for that feat (unless they qualify for a different "ring" that you are playing) and use it. You don't have to use rings if you don't want to.

Also, anyone who builds specifically for a certain ring can get that ring at the start of the event.

The prize will be another ring at the end of the event!

I want to make a special note: I set up special rules for Agent Orange for this week that I won't necessarily allow after 6-March-2010. It's a big benefit to the players who chose Agent Orange in week 1, but they deserve it for week 2!

13 March 2010 (Saturday) 1:30pm
Vault of Midnight
"Rise of the Black Lanterns"

600 points: Unrestricted (special rules apply)

Special rules:

No theme bonuses for this event.

The custom "Blackest Night" feats will be allowed.

Everyone needs to prepare a force such that they can make their team fit at or below 300 points, in case you are the Black Lanterns. (This means no 600 point figures. You can build a force with higher than 300 point figures, but you don't get to use them if you are the Black Lanterns)

After map roll, players roll off to decide who plays the Black Lanterns.

The Black Lanterns have a special feat RISE! (currently secret). The prerequisites for the feat will be suspended for this event, however the Black Lanterns cannot use other feats.

War of Light (week 4) "Blackest Night"

Point total: 400 points unrestricted (*)

(*) There are no theme bonuses for this event. Players are allowed and encouraged to use the War of Light feat cards (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/album.php?albumid=767). There are still some available, for those who would like some.

Caveats:

Any player that plays Agent Orange must play his entire force as Agent Orange.

Any player that plays Black Lanterns must play all Black Lanterns. A player doesn't need to have (non-Unique) figures to play Rise!, but Uniques can only be used if you back them with a figure of exactly the same point cost.

(I mentioned that I thought I would allow lower-point figures to "back up" a Black Lantern, but I changed my mind for balance issues.)

For this event, I'm going to decree that Black Lanterns cannot regenerate damage taken in a game against opposing Black Lanterns; i.e. if two Black Lantern teams face off, neither force gets the free regeneration.

All players should build a 400 point team using the War of Light feat cards (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/album.php?albumid=767) you have collected....sorry, no Black Lanterns!

All players will team up against me! I will be playing a special "Nekron" dial with Black Lantern support (if necessary).

There are no BFCs, theme bonuses or special objects allowed for this event. Nekron gets to pick the map.

Because this is a special oddball event, we may have to do some tweaking on game day. If for some reason Nekron doesn't come together, I will just have the players battle one another for extra glory.

On another topic:

I have confirmed that the Vault will not be hosting a "First Saturday" game day on Free Comic Book Day (a.k.a. the day the President motors into Michigan Stadium to deliver a commencement address). 2-Booster Sealed event of Brave and the Bold

BTW, that Saturday from noon until 1pm, the downtown branch of the Ann Arbor Library (just two blocks from the Vault) is hosting an event with Stan Sakai (http://www.aadl.org/events/list?id=6605), creator of the awesome Usagi Yojimbo comic.

If I see any players at the Stan Sakai event, I will grant them either 1 free dice re-roll (of any of their own rolls) during the sealed event, or the ability to once ignore an opponent's request to re-roll dice, at any time.

If I don't see you there, you can bring an autographed copy of one of Stan's books instead as proof you were there ;)

If anybody parks in one of the garages, I believe that Jerusalem Garden (next to the Library) is offering parking validation, so stop and get some lunch from those friendly folks too!

The Amazons are asking this question in advance: Since we're implementing the new object rules early at Vault of Midnight, how will the Debris BFC work? Each player places three standard objects in addition to the objects on their force?

tidge
04/17/2010, 22:36
The Vault of Midnight is (starting next week) moving to the "objects are part of your force" rule. For the time being (i.e. until the rulebook and clarifications appear)

Every player is expected to bring up to three objects as part of their force. If the player brings:

1 object: It may be red, yellow or blue ringed.

2 objects: The second object must not be the same 'color' as the first object.

3 Objects: The third object can be any color.

With the following additional rules:

All special objects are unique.
Only 1 blue-ringed object per force.
Blue-ringed objects may not be used in events with force build point totals below 300 points.

The Amazons are asking this question in advance: Since we're implementing the new object rules early at Vault of Midnight, how will the Debris BFC work? Each player places three standard objects in addition to the objects on their force?

Unless/until we get some official clarifications:

Each Debris BFC will optionally allow both players to add up to three additional standard objects, with no restrictions on light/heavy.

Objects that are removed from the game due to BFCs prior to the start of action will not count towards victory points.

I want to schedule an Iron Man themed event for the following week, but I'm having trouble thinking of one that isn't too restrictive in force builds.

Special Scenario: Stark Expo 2010

"Which booth will draw the fickle attention of the crowds?"

400 points, with the following build restriction and rules:

1) No keyword/theme bonuses.
2) No colossal figures or cardboard (including special objects, BFCs, Feats, ATAs or BSTs)
3) One figure on your force must have the Armor Keyword.

At the beginning of the event, you can keep one figure with the "Armor" keyword. All of your remaining figures go into a pool.

So for 3 June 2010, it's essentially going to be a 4-action, you-go/I-Go series of games?
I suppose I'm not entirely clear on that. My guess would be that your team has one turn with four actions, then your opponents get a turn with four actions, but I just kind of assumed that when Dan said your teams would count as one team. Not sure if that's what he meant.

1 – Sick: The infected character(s) takes an unavoidable click of damage.
2 – Organ Donor: The infected character(s) heal three clicks; infect one character on your team.
3 – Communicable Disease: The highest point uninfected character on your team is now infected.
4 – Viral Outbreak: The lowest point uninfected character on your opponent’s team is now infected.
5 – Crashing: The infected character(s) take three unavoidable clicks of damage.
6 – Remission: The infected character(s) receive one click of healing.

(semi?) Sealed Booster event.

Since DC75 is selling fast, let's plan this:

Bring a 200-point force, DC figures only (no cardboard elements or special objects).

If there are enough boosters for sale, we'll play 2-booster sealed 300 points.

If there are not enough boosters for sale, we'll play 1-booster sealed 300-points, but you can use up to 200 points of figures that you brought.

If there are not enough boosters for sale for that, we'll play 200 points.

Force Build rules

No colossal figures over 300 points
10% feat cap
3 objects, only 1 blue-ringed per force
There are no theme team bonuses
No BFCs

Depending on the number of players, I may suggest/insist upon further special rules to keep things moving. These may include:

Making the game a "free-for-all"
Limiting action allotments
Limiting the number of "free actions" from Perplex, Outwit
Adding the beginning of game "assassination" option
Wild card team swaps can happen only on controlling player's turn.

Vault of Midnight and Fun 4 All are in Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti. Having lived here and in South Bend, I'd say it would take you no less than 2 hours to drive one way.

The Saturday afternoon games at the Vault may be a better effort: I usually let the games go long, and it's typically fun comic theme teams. You could also drive in daylight.
