Anyone up for a 20 questions today?

I'm thinking of a comic strip character.

20 yes-or-no questions to deduce who it is.

I suppose it depends on your definition of "a long time." So I won't attempt to answer this question or count it against you.

Is the strip Peanuts?

Yes, it is.

Good Grief! I thought the "Currently running in newspapers" question would throw you all off, since it's been re-run perpetually since Mr. Schultz passed away.

7 down. 13 to go. Not that you'll need 13 to get it now.

I know it's not Peanuts as nobody took that strip over.

A long time in my eyes was 20 to 30 years or more.

Does this character vex his neighbor frequently?

But it IS Peanuts. The question about the artist wasn't whether another artrist took over, but whether the original artist is still drawing it. Peanuts runs in newspapers currently as re-runs of old strips.

Yes, it is.

Well, guess I was making an assumption I shouldn't have.

Is it Linus?

Yes, it is Linus (my favorite character from the strip). You guys got it quicker than I thought you would?

Ignatz, other than the undeniable fact that you seem to live inside my brain when I run these games, what made you think of Peanuts at the point you did?

Honestly, as soon as the different artist question got answered, I was thinking Peanuts as well.

Of course, that was 30 seconds ago, when I was first reading the thread, which is apparently eons after you guys already got it. :disappointed:

I thought of Charlie Brown right off the bat, but then considered your love of Dick Tracy and adventure strips as well, and decided to try to narrow it down from there. My first two questions were to rule out/in old adventure strips and funny animals (Krazy Kat, Pogo, and modern ones).

I asked the "drawn by others" to take care of a host of strips, but also knew about Peanuts. And my next question was Linus, as he's my favorite also, and figured he was yours from what I know of you (quietly religious).

For the record, I am a huge Peanuts fan (particularly pre-1972 or so) and Charles Schulz was probably my biggest childhood hero. He made me want to be a comic strip artist (and I was at least, for the school newspaper).

I've started a "Which Comic Book Plot is Fake" thread if anyone wants to give that a try.
