I'm going to a tornament and i'm so ready to get rid of these stupid cr@ppy wizkids dice so do they sale special dice at your comic store.
Um... well, yeah, but were you planning on driving clear up from Alabama to buy a set?
Yeah because i need some big dice, and every thing is bigger in texas RIGHT? ? ?
Sure thing.
Did you also want to rent the truck to get them home in?

Speaking of Big Dice - one of our group's players has a d20 and another has a d6 - both are about as big as an orange.
And there is no doubt about when they roll the dice. >SMACK!<
Actually - we have these really cool Red Dice which have skull faces instead of ones...
When the roll comes up double skulls (The Death Dice) you've critical missed!

Oh.
If you ever get to Gencon there's usually a vendor that has a big bucket full of dice and for a set price, you get to scoop up a "Cup O' Dice" with a large Coffee mug (I forget the price).
And whatever you scoop up - you get to keep.
They're usually ugly looking reject colors - but at least no one with any self respect will be putting your dice into their dice bag!:D

i have two sets of those "death dice" i roll well with them! i've also seen (but have yet to purchase) these bone dice that look like someone popped out some bones and made them into dice. but they are $2 pop. Really cool.
I have only criticaled twice with my death dice. they're great!
Wizards of the Coast has a bunch.
So does Gamers Paradise
(Both are national chains, though I don't know if there is one by you)
I got black dice with the skulls for ones.
My wife got clear colored minis--about 3 or 4 fit on a penny.
Then there are always big fuzzy dice.

I have a die from the one of the starter sets that has 2 fives stamped on it. And I dont know if I ever used it or for how long I have been.

of course we have funky cool dice... :)
besides the standard "death dice" we have six siders inside six siders...meaning there is a tiny six sided dice inside a clear six sided dice. we also have 'cheesehead' dice that are roughly the size of a pear... and then there are the glow in the dark alien dice....ahhh...the list goes on and on...

Thanks to fellow HCR member Solsonic, our group is now playing with Casino Dice... big red ones, with sharp edges that always seem to roll 7's or 11's... hmmm... And there is no doubt when they roll...
But if your comic/game store doesn't have a big selection of dice, ask them to order some... can't hurt to ask. And if they say no, take your Clix-buying dollars to another store...

The alien dice are kinda popular here...I don't use them 'cause I like to be able to easily see what the number is :-)
Basically whenever I go to a tournament, if my dice go bad on me I get the owner to pull out his dice bin and roll dice until I find a pair that can roll higher than a 6. So far I have a red pair, a black pair, and a green pair (all smaller than normal dice) plus four regular-sized dice in various colors. I never use the plain whites.

Someone I know has a set of those dice inside dice - pretty cool for playing AD&D No more struggling to hold all the dice for a huge Fireball.
and I played with a guy who had about 60 some odd dice and before he played he had to set each and every die on the highest figure so he wouldn't get Jinxed.
Another player would have a hissy fit if you touched his dice.
And two of our players have 3rd edition AD&D Player's Books with Gary Gygax's autograph - and kind of like they did in the Knights of the Dinner Table (rubbing their dice on the forehead of the dead creator of Hackmaster for luck)
- they break out the books when someone is rolling badly and rub the offending dice on the signature three times - and, I gotta tell ya - it's wierd, the very next set of rolls are usually pretty good!
Worked for me, at least.
We're really superstitious about our dice ain't we.

Chessex dice (which are nice, heavy, and come in a variety of colors, including some nifty speckled colors to simulate your favorite hero's costume) are made from Urea, the same heat and pressure molded substance used to make toilet seats.
Now the next time you say, "These dice are rolling for $hit!" you'll know the reason why!
I always use my Illuminati dice that I got from the Deluxe INWO card game. Instead of ones it has the "eye in the pyramid" symbol.
