Just going to throw this out there, for the people who are voting for the '3 Strike Rule'.

It's a bad rule. It wasn't until I saw it through practice that I realized it, but let me tell you the 3 reasons why someone wouldn't make it in the 48 hour positions.

1. A vacation, internet outage, family visit, getting busy, but they still have the wherewithal to inform us, and they still have enough time to get in the 3 week mark.

2. A serious issue (re: Melkhor, Peers and the floods he was having, GL4Life, Discombob). They were all dropped, and the players agreed with the ruling without issue.

3. They just stop showing up. Ra1serblade, Fastcat99 and a host of others that just never showed up again without telling a commish, or plain forgot about the League.

I have yet to see a player who can't keep up with the games, that doesn't fall into those categories. In the case of #1, with a few exceptions, the issues can be solved with a sub to get things started, a few turns in, and things are good.

The latter cases...they're just issues of dropping the teams. In the past HCFL season, we had squads running up to 4-5 games without managers. The Monster Society of Evil wasn't there for game 5, though they said they'd be out for a month, yet, they never came back. Game 6, and all through the post Season until Krueger didn't put the game up. That's silly. If a player doesn't check in for a month, then they should be dropped. There's a commitment to this League that's necessary, and if they can't do it, they can't do it. Recently, I've been spending a lot of time in a place that doesn't have internet, and yet I still have the presence of mind to play in 3 games, and run the Leagues.
