View Full Version : Ruling needed on this...
Norman Osborn is trying to shoot a Skrull...the skrull utilizes his team ability and succeeds rolling a six. Having no other targets Norman decides to move into hand to hand with the Skrull-is this legal-I think it feels like it should be-he's not attacking him just moving into position. I guess what I'm thinking is-sequence wise Norman is looking for a target and spots the Skrull. The Skrull deceives him so he is free to act any other way he chooses. He does not attack the Skrull this turn, but can move adjacent. Am I right on this assumption???

you are correct sir!! once the skrull roll is made, you can't attack, but feel free to get in close for your next turn!

Followup in a bit more detail...
Norman targets the Skrull for a ranged combat action. The Skrull succeeds on his team ability by rolling a six. As the Shape Change rule states, Norman can either chose another target or perform a different non-free action. Can he then perform a Running Shot (a power action) and attempt to attack the same Skrull? It is a different action, by definition.

It is a different action, but that character can no longer attempt to attack that character this turn. (That's clarified in the player's guide.)

THANKS for clarifying brother-I forgot the part wherein he attempted the second attack via Running Shot...

Sorry if I am missing something but why does the rule for shape change dictate what he can or cannot do after the opponent makes his Skrull TA roll?
The Skrull team ability mimics Shape Change to a degree-we refer to it as SHAPE CHANGE LITE. The roll of a six by the Skrull makes him unengageable...

The wording is nearly identicle; "The attacker must choose another target or be given a different non-free action." for shape-change and "The attacker must choose another target or be given a different action." for skrull TA.
The question is if the wording "or" gives you the option to attack that bastard skrull with a different action, in this case the power action running shot.

You speak as a man who is a little too close to this situation my friend...:devious:
