View Full Version : Thunderbolts feat/MOE team ability and indomitable

If a character has been thunderbolted to Masters of Evil team ability or HAS the Masters of Evil team ability naturally and said character also has the Indomitable defense ability, can it just keep pushing and pushing without taking damage? If so, I found a way to make human Ms. Marvel better than Ms. Skrull-Vel, and a way to make Hercules even more insane. Your thoughts?

MoE takes unavoidable damage, not pushing damage.

Kind of what I thought, but it would have been cool if I was right. Nobody would have seen it coming at my venue when I said I was playing with HUMAN Ms. Marvel.

Not much more to say, really.
There's no getting away from unavoidable damage, hence the name.

It cant be used with shellhead because shellhead modifies :d-normal: not :d-indomitable:

Well, the regular MoE TA works just fine with Shellhead as long as the figure has the :d-normal: symbol. Keeping two tokens at all times means you get Shellhead bonuses at all times you meet the prerequisites. :)

I like the MoE TA though. I use it quite a bit (especially with the R/E Kangs).

I went and looked to see if a Shellhead/Steal Energy/MoE combo could overlap, but there's not much there. The Absorbing Man can keep on attacking and stay on the same click with the Shellhead bonus but you have to land on just the right click/s. Also, it coudl work if you used the Mercenary feat with Arkillo.

Just use the classic combo with Mach 3.

Mach 3 + Shellhead + Rip it Up + Nanobots + Thunderbolt to MoE.

Sure, it's 35 points of feats on a 77 point character, but it's a nice distraction for opponents in higher games, and he can be an absolute b**** to kill sometimes.

I thought you weren't adjacent to the square you're on? At least that's how it was explained to me that the combo was quashed.

And, umm...

Correct. However, this was only clarified circa Mutations and Monsters, so it worked for about a year and a half.

Yeah the Mach thing seemed like a cool loophole, but with only a 9 av (and costing 112 points) it didn't seem like a very effective one.

But yeah, bringing in Nanobots offers a lot more options. I took down the new KC Supes with an LE Nathaniel Richards + Nanobots. I also played R Kang to lend the MoE TA and had a bunch of Franklin Richards pogs for when Nathaniel was on his top click.

Well that's lame. That was the last time I saw it played, and I had thought I might try it some time. Oh well.

Wildcard+Moe+X Men=sickness.

I used this once on a 1100 point team with Doc Doom. He attacked every turn (unless he was lacking for targets) and then used X Men to heal the point of damage back up. At one point he went seven turns without clearing. I sure would have liked a Shellhead card then.

Two questions. First on that team were you also running a support character? If so you could just get someone with LC/hypersonic/phasing that has the xmen team ability and keep healing them back up as long as they have a low defense. Also out of curiousity which doom were you using.

Nope, wasn't running Support that game. But your plan would have worked nicely, since I was mainly using Rookie Doombots to heal Doom with and they have a fairly easy to heal defense. And I was using Starter Doom, though this trick would also work with old-school CT Vet Doom.

Are there many Minions of Doom support characters? I think Ultron has it at some point but no others really spring to mind. He wouldn't be half bad as a playable piece either. I think this team could be a usable contender if we worked on it a little bit more.

the rules for droping an object are u place it in an UNOCCUPIED, ADJACENT square. so this combo does indeed work.

Yes. So? Maybe he didn't have a Shellhead card at the time even if it did exist...

Incorrect.
Holding an object. A character can hold only one object at a time. A character can’t drop an object once it is held. To dispose of a held object, the character must use it in an attack. If, however, a character holding an object is defeated or loses the ability to use Super Strength, the character automatically drops the object, which stays in the square the character occupied when it was defeated or the power was lost. If there is already an object in the square when an object is dropped, the dropped object is removed from the game.

There really wasn't a thread to hijack. My question was half-hearted as it was because I pretty much knew the answer to my own question before it was posted. It got shot down by the next couple of posters, and it's been chimichangas ever since.
