Rules... stolen from JOH and then Darq, and modified just a bit...

1) There is a Town. They win by getting rid of the mafia/non-friendly neutrals. Each night, many of them do something (investigate or protect for instance) to try to find the mafia. During the day, they try to vote off the mafia.

2) There is a Mafia, maybe even more than one. They win by getting rid of everybody that isn't in their mafia. Each night, they will remove townies from the game. Each day, they will try to prevent the townies from voting them off.

3) If more than half the players vote for the same player during the day (i.e. Majority), that player is lynched and is removed from the game. You should bold your lynch votes so that I don't miss them or think you are kidding. You can vote for anyone but chances are nothing will happen if you try to lynch someone who isn't playing. You can also vote for a No Lynch. If you feel like leaving a vote with someone, you can say Leave Vote with: Player, but I frown upon it. You cannot "leave with majority".

4) There are unfriendly neutrals that could be trying to kill everybody or recruit their own mafia or maybe something else entirely. They win in odd ways but they hurt the town so the town must eliminate them to win.

5) There are friendly neutrals. They also have strange win conditions but they don't really hurt the town. Sometimes they can win with either the town or the mafia but in general the town doesn't need to get rid of them. Friendly and unfriendly neutrals are hard to tell apart and you'll just have to use your best judgment on whether you want to vote for them or leave them be.

6) Don't do these 3 things: Quote your role pm or the role pm of anybody else, talk about this game outside of this thread even via pm unless you are pming a mason teammate or a mafia teammate, and don't edit your posts. If you do one of these 3 things, you may be modkilled to ensure the game's fairness. I'm a stickler for these. You see how it says 'may'? Assume may = will.

Have fun, y'all. Remember, it's just a game. Tempers may flare, and people may come off like complete a-holes... but they are trying to win, just like you.

I prefer *not* to say, actually, I think that's one of the features of mafia that make it interesting, and get people more reliant on posting and voting than powers.

Given my own personal feelings about how Disney ripped that story off from Osamu Tezuka (http://www.kimbawlion.com/rant2.htm) and then feigned ignorance about the existence of one of Japan's most beloved animators, I could see anyone involved with The Lion King being a villain. To be fair, Disney's since done a very nice job with the US distribution of Miyazaki's work.

It has been on the top of my netflix instant queue for a while, based on someone from the realms recommendation, but I to have not gotten around to watching it yet. I was waiting for someone to say this too.

If the mafia is populated by villains, I'd think they would assume the town is populated by good guys. Thus, I don't think Wade is mafia.

That being said, the SK, assuming the SK is Lecter, probably wouldn't know one way or the other, granted, it's not terribly hard to discern from the one autopsy we've had thus far.

The only thing that makes sense to me is that Wade is telling the truth, but his character only really makes sense as a Neutral, near as I can tell.

Sorry it took me SO long to get on and respond to this. Miller's Crossing is literally my favorite movie of all time.

I have no idea what this means in terms of alignment in this game, but Bernie Bernbaum, the Schmatta Kid, is an absolutely reprehensible character. He was willing to sell out and blackmail the one person in the movie who, through tremendous risk, saved Bernbaum's life, then quite literally kicked his saviour when he was down.

In my mind, there will probably never be a greater John Turturro performance. The guy was amazing in that role.

Bernbaum turned out to be villainous in a wormy, underhanded way.

Once again, though, I don't know if the same will be true for this game. As one of you mentioned before, Aslan was actually mafia in the other game.
