Okay boys and girls, here we have 128 Classic Songs from the 50's and 60's, from some of our Favorite Musical Acts, which will be pitted against one another, Match by Match, Round by Round, weeding them all out until they get to the FINAL MATCH, which will have our two favorite 50s/60s songs face against one another to see which one emerges as Grand Champion of our latest Rock Wars!

As always, this TOC should be voted using a very simple criteria, which song do YOU like more, which do YOU feel you would rather listen to, and which would YOU say is ultimately more deserving to move on. Nothing to do with Classic or not, this is based on personal preference, YOURS. :)

Pretty basic really. Songs are matched up, you all vote on the one you like more, the winner goes to the Next Round, and we do this over and over again until the Rounds are Over. I do ask that you all give objective opinions and votes here, listening to All songs and arguments here within this TOC with an open mind, beginning to end, and base your honest votes from that.

I know we all believe we know all of these songs already, but as always I ask that you please listen to them again with each new match before voting. Thanks all. :)

So without further adieu, why dont we get started with the Next of Many matches to come, in HCRs latest Rock Wars, Favorite 50s / 60s Song!

I now give you:

DO YOU BELIEVE IN MAGIC
(Lovin' Spoonful) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKyGyH9mWHk)

vs.

BLUEBERRY HILL
(Fats Domino) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQQCPrwKzdo)

So what say you all. Which of these songs will move onto the Next Round, and which will fade away back to the time they came?

"Do You Believe In Magic" is a favorite on my ipod and one of the 60s best pop songs. It gets my vote!

Gargantua

Both are songs that just make you feel good listening to them. But few songs evoke that early rock 'n' roll spirit like Blueberry Hill, it was 1956 and this brand new style would change the musical world.

And by the bye, I'm going to be dropping off the face of the earth for a couple of days. This'll probably be the last one I'll vote for for a couple of days, though I will put in my two cents on any match-ups that are still open when I get back on Monday.

Hmmmm, this ones pretty even for me (even though theyre 2 very different songs), but in the end I guess Ill go with current underdog and Blueberry Hill (for Richie Cunningham!!)

Not my two favorites by either artist. Give me Ain't that a Shame by Fats or You and Me and Rain on the Roof by John Sebastian and the Lovin' Spoonful.

(Not necessarily trivia section - John Sebastian of the Spoonful was also the singer/songwriter responsible for the Welcome Back Kotter theme)

For me it comes down to Fats' piano stylings. That, plus the fact that Gargantua hit the nail on the head of how indicative this song is of the early R&R era.

I thought ain't that a shame sounds very similar to Blueberry Hill at some parts.
