Okay, after re-reading the rule book and making a few observations here on the forum;

- Ranged Combat Expert can not be used with Running Shot
- Close Combat Expert can not be used with Charge
- No stat enhancers (perplex, enhancement, etc) can be used with RCE or CCE
- When making an attack with an object, CCE does not effect the damage dealt

Correct?

You are correct with one addendum:

Shield Team ability to raise damage will work with RCE.

I couldn't seem to find it anywhere. And why are those issues ruled in such a way?

Click on the "11/04 DC FAQ Updates". Marvel has one as well (different date though, I think).

I can't give you the definite answer as to why the rules are that way, but I can say that it would give certain characters with a R or CCE a huuuuge advantage on the playing field.

Or the answer that I've heard since childhood on numerous topics, "That's just the way it is."

Believe the Rulebook, untill their is a NEW rulebook !

Then use common sense or dice role.

The sooner a new rulebook makes the FAQ obsolete, the better.

The vast majority of players in the world surely use the
rulebook(s), and do not even know the FAQ exists...

...and the FAQ is now about 4 times more text than the rules !

Can anybody say "playtest" ?

Don't get me wrong, it is a great game, but the rulebook was fairly badly written and the FAQ is just patch and cover...the rules need a major overhaul, and hopefully, with Indy, they will get one.

If you try something in a game, and the person you are playing sites the fact that "it doesn't say that in the Rulebook..." then, unless it's a house rule that you have notified in advance, there is not much you can do...
