View Full Version : Batman Enemy/Perplex/CCE

Greetings,

Okay, let's toss this one out and see if it sticks to the wall. Batman Enemy is a transitive sharing of attack values. It can also be shared on down a row. (say A,B,and C in a line. If A has 10 attack and the other two have 9 then A shares to B who can then share to C so all have a 10 attack.) All of this is fairly spelled out in the faq.

Now say via my quartet of Happy Harley Clones (4HHC) I use their perplex to up A's attack to 14. As I understand it this too would then be shared on down the line.

Ooooh, now let's get to the really nasty question. Let's say figure B is a Bane (dial B for Bane) with CCE. Can he then (either in the first example or the 4HHC example) take advantage of the Batman Enemy team ability for an attack using CCE?

I know the official CCE line is "he can't have his combat values altered from the printed values in any way by himself or a friendly figure (via Perplex, Enhancement, or other Power.)" But does the team ability bypass this? If so in what ways? If not is he reduced to only sharing his attack value and really not being a beneficiary for the ability?

Wondering,
Thor.

As I read it, the printed values cannot be altered by any POWER (ie Perplex) thus sharing is still fine as it's a team ability and not a power. So if that is correct you could perplex up figure A's attack value to 14 and Bane (Figure B) would be able to share it and still use close combat expert.

Hope that helps

Right, Bane's attack value is being affected by a team ability, not a power, so everything's ok.

Greetings,

Thanks NightWing, that was sort of my thinking. However I could easily see the hinging point being that "he can't have his combat values altered from the printed values *in any way* by himself or a friendly figure" Sharing numbers would seem to count as his attack value would be different. Yet team abilities are *abilities* not powers. I honestly just thought the possibility up since I like Batman Enemy teams. It seemed like an interesting possibility to bypass the "Thou shalt not perplex Bane's attack and keep CCE" rulings.

Thor.

No worries Thor

I used that tactic in a Torney a couple of weeks ago. I kept perplexing Man-Bat the Taxi's attack up so that even when Bane got hurt he could still smack people around. Lots of fun!
