View Full Version : Comics vets come to this trivia (or rather help a guy who knows nothing of comics)
Hi all
I'm a newbi, I like this game a lot because of the game's engine.... but I haven't really watched cartoons in years and the only comics I've ever read were those that belonged to my dad.
So I have tons of questions that hopefully you comics maniacs will have a easy time answering.
1: Is Mr.Fixit the Hulk? I have seen a comic at my job and he seemed to be friends with the Hulk. Could he be the Hulk from another dimension?
2: What is it with all those parralel universes and dimensions? How can a newbi understand the myriad of parralel universes?
3: Who is Elektra and what are her powers?
4: Is Iron Man still with the Avengers? (is the fig likely to be an Avenger?)
5: Who is Constrictor? Was he strong in the comics? He sure doesn't look too good.
6: What are those strenght levels people are talking about? Like: "Juggy should be able to lift the Earth, his strenght level is 3000". It's like earing to kids talking about YuGiOh.
7: Who is the most powerfull hero?
8: Where can I find more infos on the Skrulls/Avengers?
9: Thor wasn't in my dad's Avengers comics but they did talk about him if I remember correclty. Why did he leave them? Oh and was he really that powerfull? It sounds like this guy would be the most powerfull hero ever.
10: What are my 2 favorite heroes up to these days? Them being Nightcrawler and Collossus.

My poor friend Colussus is dead!!!
Thor is the most powerful regular hero.
Elektra is a hired assassin type. No powers just Martial Arts.
Iron Man is a founder of Avengers.
Class 3000 is an old Marvel RPG term. PS Class 3000 is for his force field.
How that for starters.

1: Is Mr.Fixit the Hulk? I have seen a comic at my job and he seemed to be friends with the Hulk. Could he be the Hulk from another dimension?
Hulk was split by a scientist to give Banner a seperate life - after finding out this would not work they messd with him again and split him into Banner/Green Hulk and Mr Fixit.(intelligent Grey Hulk)
2: What is it with all those parralel universes and dimensions? How can a newbi understand the myriad of parralel universes?
Just know they're there.
3: Who is Elektra and what are her powers?
Daughter of a Greekambassador, former lover of Daredevil.
No powers - lots of martial arts lessons.
4: Is Iron Man still with the Avengers? (is the fig likely to be an Avenger?)
I don't know. (I would think so - it seems to be the Horned Armor so far - but there will be more versions later)
5: Who is Constrictor? Was he strong in the comics? He sure doesn't look too good.
Villain in a power suit (Nearly bullet proof and very insulated)
6: What are those strenght levels people are talking about? Like: "Juggy should be able to lift the Earth, his strenght level is 3000". It's like earing to kids talking about YuGiOh.
From the Marvel Super Hero Game and Marvel's way of guaging realative strength levels

7: Who is the most powerfull hero?
There are too many variables and everyone has their own opinion.
8: Where can I find more infos on the Skrulls/Avengers?
Do a search on the web?
9: Thor wasn't in my dad's Avengers comics but they did talk about him if I remember correclty. Why did he leave them? Oh and was he really that powerfull? It sounds like this guy would be the most powerfull hero ever.
I don't know. At times. At times.
10: What are my 2 favorite heroes up to these days? Them being Nightcrawler and Collossus.
I don't know

1: Mr. Fixit IS the Hulk. You see, Bruce Banner made many attempts to "cure" himself of turning into the Hulk. One experiment almost worked. He didn't transform in a mindless, savage brute when he got upset. Instead, when the sun went down, he became Grey Hulk, a.k.a. Mr. Fixit. Though not as strong nor as tough as the original Hulk, Mr. Fixit is smarter and has a personality all his own. He worked as a bouncer in La Vegas.
2: Even for those who are active follower of storylines, it can be very confusing. Especially DC alternate realities and timelines. DC heroes seem to be re-invented every decade or so.
3: Elektra is an assassin, and she has no super powers. She has been both an enemy of Daredevil, and his lover. Big time love/hate issues their. She was killed by DD's arch-nemesis, Bullseye, but like a DC superhero, writers keep re-inventing her every 5-10 years or so.
4: To my knowledge, yes. Even if that were not so, Iron Man is definately going to have at least one figure (if not all) with the Avengers team ability.
5: Constrictor sucks. Just some guy with metal tentacles that come out of his arms. Occasionally works with Hydra and other lesser evil organizations. Did I mention he sucks?
6: During the early 90's Marvel released trading cards that rated the abilities (those abilities being Strength, Speed, Agility, Stamina, Duribility and Intelligence) of each character. If memory serves me, 0 was the lowest, 1 or a 2 was normal for an average human and level 7 was the highest. A character with class 7 strength was described as being able to lift over 100 tons.
7: The debates on which hero is the most powerful will go all week, without a clear decisive answer. Some will say Superman, some will say Thor, others will say a cosmic being like Silver Surfer. But as far a pure physical strength goes, no one is beats the Hulk.
8: The best place for Skrulls are the Fantastic Four and back issues of the Skrull Kill Crew. The Avengers have their own comic.
9: Depends when you're talking about. He may have still been a part of the team, but just not in your issue. I don't think Thor is all that powerful. It seems every time I pick up a Thor comic he's getting his butt handed to him by the Absorbing Man or some generic Asgardian Troll.
10: Collossus joined Magneto's side and became a villain, and is currently dead. Nightcrawler is still alive, I think.
thanks guys for the answers.
Now some new questions:
11: What the !"%$ killed Colossus?
12: Who is Quasar?
13: Why did Colossus become a villain?
14: I know that some Marvel characters are in Capcoms video games, but are Capcom characters in Marvel comics?
15: What'S this story of Thanos destroying like half of the universe?
16: Ok Thor is the most powerfull hero... then there must be a vilain with fairly equal powers huh? Who could that be?
17: Are the evil zodiacs in the comics or just in the Avengers tv show?
18: Is Vision really a robot like in the tv show?
19: What makes Dr.Doom so strong? I tought he was just a poor kid that had a hard childhood.
20: Is venom good or evil?

Hi Morglum, Let's see if I can answer your questions.
1: Is Mr.Fixit the Hulk? I have seen a comic at my job and he seemed to be friends with the Hulk. Could he be the Hulk from another dimension?
Yes he is. This is the version were he was not as strong as the savage hulk, but was more intelligent and had a no-nonsense attitude.
He was then separated into his three forms Banner, Mr. Fixit and The Savage Hulk. Later yet they merged the three into the Hulk of today, A Hulk with the intelligence of Banner, the attitude of the Mr. Fixit and rage enhanced strength of the savage hulk.
2: What is it with all those parralel universes and dimensions? How can a newbi understand the myriad of parralel universes?
You got me? I'm as confused as you.
3: Who is Elektra and what are her powers?
Elektra is a hired assasin. Good Martial Artist and excellent with those SAI's of hers. Former Lover of Daredevil. She died and was ressurected. That's all.
4: Is Iron Man still with the Avengers? (is the fig likely to be an Avenger?)
Iron man is one of the founding members of the Avengers. He is usually busy with his other affairs, so active duty seems difficult for him. Think of him as Batman in the JLA, He'll be there if needed.
(He will likely be an Avenger in Clix.)
5: Who is Constrictor? Was he strong in the comics? He sure doesn't look too good.
Constrictor is one of those Named Generic Figs of the Serpent Society which Captain America use to battle way back (in the 80's or 90's I think) Think of him as a henchman with powers. His powers are those coils in his arms, he could capture foes with those. (What use are those with guys that have strength.)
6: What are those strenght levels people are talking about? Like: "Juggy should be able to lift the Earth, his strenght level is 3000". It's like earing to kids talking about YuGiOh.
As they have said, from the Marvel RPG. So us guys would know how to compare each characters stregth.
7: Who is the most powerfull hero?
It depends on how you define most powerful.
8: Where can I find more infos on the Skrulls/Avengers?
Search the web.
9: Thor wasn't in my dad's Avengers comics but they did talk about him if I remember correclty. Why did he leave them? Oh and was he really that powerfull? It sounds like this guy would be the most powerfull hero ever.
The Avengers have too many members. And those who are available at that moment are the ones who you will see. Thor most of the time has his own problems like iron man, so he takes a leave of absence.
He is powerful, super strength rivaling the hulk, Mystic hammer Mjolnir that could fire Blast of Magical Lightning and summon portals to other dimensions, aside from controlling the weather. Endurance, Invulnerability, Flight. What more could you ask. Magical Belt of Strength, doubles the wearers Strength. Hah! But there are those with much power than him. Like his dad, the All Mighty ODIN.
10: What are my 2 favorite heroes up to these days? Them being Nightcrawler and Collossus.
Um, do I have to answer that question? :D
alstaire
02/13/2003, 02:05
Oops, more questions.
11: What the !"%$ killed Colossus?
The Legacy Virus. He absorbed it to save the whole mutant universe.
12: Who is Quasar?
I don't know his origins exactly, all I know is that:
A former avenger, with those Quantum Bonds of his, currently roaming the universe nad protecting it from threats in outer space. Think of him as Marvel's version of Green Lantern. Hehe.
13: Why did Colossus become a villain?
With everything that happend with them, and the death of her sister, he thought that maybe, Magneto's vision was more appropriate. He was at his confused stage here.
14: I know that some Marvel characters are in Capcoms video games, but are Capcom characters in Marvel comics?
Nope. Tht's for video game only.
15: What'S this story of Thanos destroying like half of the universe?
When he held the Infinity Gauntlet, he could much do anything he pleases. He did just that to impress his love, the lady DEATH.
16: Ok Thor is the most powerfull hero... then there must be a vilain with fairly equal powers huh? Who could that be?
I don't think he is the most powerful hero, there are those who are more than a much for him. THANOS, Gladiator, Silver Surfer, Molecule Man, Adam Warlock... just to name a few.
17: Are the evil zodiacs in the comics or just in the Avengers tv show?
They're in the comics too. I just don't think anybody is interested with those guys.
18: Is Vision really a robot like in the tv show?
He is. Just like the TV show. He had the essence of Wonder man's brain waves. But now he is more robotic, loosing those brain waves when he was deconstructed by the government and being reprogrammmed.
19: What makes Dr.Doom so strong? I tought he was just a poor kid that had a hard childhood.
He is one of those Superhuman Intelligent Villains of the Marvel Universe. His armor is arguably more powerful than that of Iron man. Plus with his knowledge of the occult and magic combine with his superior technology, and You've got potentially a very powerful villain.
20: Is venom good or evil?Well, with his vengeance on Spiderman. I'll say ... EVIL.
KaiserSelroc
02/13/2003, 02:06
14: No
15: I think Thanos has done that more than once, most recently being the time he brought together all 6 infinity gems, which made him all powerful and virtually unstoppable. He killed 1/3 of all life in the universe just to impress the cosmic embodiment of Death. He defeated (or was about to defeat) a coallition of practically every hero and villain in the Marvel Universe, when his neice, Nebula (whom he had already reduced to a rotting corpse), snuck up behind him and stole the Infinity Gauntlet.
16: Like I said, Absorbing Man seems to kick his butt fairly often. His power is to become just as strong as anything he touches. Thanos beat him a few times, without the Infinity Gauntlet, and I'm sure there are many cosmic beings who could wipe the floor with him. Thor just does not impress me.
17: Avengers TV show? You mean the one with Emma Peel?
18: Vision is a cross between a robot and alien materials made by Ultron.
19: Picture a guy who's intelligence rivals Batman (a genius who's always prepaired and knows everyone's weaknesses), in Iron Man's armor (hella powerful) who also happens to be one of the top sorcerors in the Marvel Universe. Than make him the dictator of his own pseudo-European country.
20: Yes. Venom thinks he's a hero, and he sometimes does good things, but he's crazy and won't hesitate to kill criminals, people who get in his way and people who call themselves Spiderman.

12: Who is Quasar?
Wendell Vaughn was formerly known as marvel boy! Son of the Marvel Boy of the 50's. He was raised by Eternals on Uranus (I didn't make that up!) before his stint in the Avengers (early-mid '90's, he was in Captain America and Marvel-Two-in-One the old Thing comic) when ever the story had anything to do with Project Pegasus. He had his own book in the 90's (available in quarter bins everywhere). He's basically the poor man's Captain Marvel/Guardian of the Universe. All of his powers are derived from his Quantum Bands and he talks to Ego, a universal force.
15: What'S this story of Thanos destroying like half of the universe?
For most of his existence (in comics) Thanos has only had one goal, the annihilation of all living things to show his affection for Death (the physical embodiment of the universal force of death)
16: Ok Thor is the most powerfull hero... then there must be a vilain with fairly equal powers huh? Who could that be?
In Clix terms, OWAW Superman, if there are no Outwitters on the map.
17: Are the evil zodiacs in the comics or just in the Avengers tv show?
Yes they just featured into Geoff Johns first Avengers Story (at least Scorpio)
18: Is Vision really a robot like in the tv show?
NO NO No NO. The TV show was ####. Vision IS a synthesoid. An android with organic-based analogues to living components. he's still very much a machine, but he has the synaptic patterns of Simon Williams (Wonder Man) as his basis for personality. In addition, his body is that of the original Human Torch (WWII era). The time master Immortus, created a temporal duplicate of the dormant android Torch, Ultron took one and rebuilt it into the Vision and the Mad Thinker took the other and reprogrammed it to attack the Fantastic Four and then "die". Now both are alive and functioning, but John Hammond (Torch) is much more human than Vision is.
Everything else was covered pretty well above.
Hi guys, I figured you wouldn't mind some more questions so here it goes:
21: Who is Blaastar? I got one and he sure is ugly. He looks like a ewok wrestler.
22: I don't know if it's marvel related... but has any hero ever fought against Alien/Predator?
23: Has there ever been a marvel/dc crossover comic?
24: Has Galactus ever been in a war? Did he beat the snot ot of the opposition?
25: Speaking of galactus, is he the most powerfull being in the universe?
26: Who is Scarlet Spidey? Everyone here seems to hate him.
27: Is there a comic about a huge monster? (like Godzilla)
28: Who's stronger, Wolverine(booh!) or Sabertooth(yeah!)?
29: I have come to like the Avengers clix, but are they also a powerfull organisation in the comics?
30: Not comic related, but game related... anyone ever tryed a solonavi or draconum in a HC game?
Thanks

1. Yes. Mr. Fixit is just another personality of the Hulk.
2. You can't. You just have to be sucked in like the rest of us.
3. Elektra is a Greek(?) assassin, ninja. She's plenty good on hand to hand combat, ex-lover of Daredevil, and has died, been ressurected, died again (I think), and ressurected again (I think).
4. Yes. Iron Man is currently an Avenger, and his Clix will probably be also.
5. Think a poor man's Doc Ock.
6. It's a load. A big fat load. Never go by levels. Characters might be stronger, smarter, or any else more than other's, but every character has a different mindset with those powers.
7. Depends who you ask. My pick: Superman, if by purely hero.
8. Check out the Kree/Skrull War Trade Paperback.
9. Just like with any team, a member won't be there for every adventure. He was probably out drinking mead with the wenches.
10. Colossus am dead. Nightcrawler is chillin' with the X-folks.
11. The Legacy Virus killed him. Or at least the "cure" for it did.
12. A pretty powerful cosmic hero with the Quantum Bands. Pretty good weapons.
13. He felt that Xavier's way of "helping" him deal with his sister's death was going at a turtle's pace, and Magneto could help him faster.
14. Not that I'm aware of.
15. Infinity Gauntlet. Read it. Love it. Just don't eat it.
16. The closest Villain with Thor's abilities and such, in my opinion, is Ultron.
17. *shudder* Yup. They were in the comics all right.
18. Vision in an android. Get it right! *shakes fist*
19. Could be the armor. Could be the mystics. Could be that ham sammich he accidently welded inside his suit. PU!
20. Venom was bad, then became the Lethal Protector, now he's back to being evil again.
21. Correct. Ewok Wrestler. Naw, he's a giant evil, Fantastic Four cosmic baddie.
22. Plenty. Superman, Batman, Witchblade, Darkness, Green Lantern, etc.
23. There's been a whole bunch of them. The first one? The Comic Book Adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. And I'm not joking here. If you're going by heroes purely, I believe it was Spider-Man vs. Superman.
24. He was in the Secret War. And tried to eat the planet! You read it if you wanna know what happened, buster!
25. No. Eternity is.
26. The Spider-Clone. Marvel led us to believe that the Peter Parker we've been reading was a clone, ie. fake, ie. all the good stories never happened to the real Spider-Man. Well, the "real" Peter Parker, going by the name Ben Reilly, used the name Scarlet Spider before he donned the Spider-Man outfit.
27. Yup. Godzilla #1.
28. Technically, I'd say Sabretooth's stronger, Logan's smarter.
29. Almost the best! The only team that can take them? The JLA and The Authority.
30. A who or a what?
Hope this helps!
:D

21: He's a Fantastic Four baddie from the negative zone, as well as annihilus.
22.Yes, many have.
23. Several Times, Stan Lee has worked with DC quite a bit in the past two years.
24. Yes, the secret war.
25. Possibly, but the eternals are VERY strong too.
26. He was a clone of Peter Parker. For a while there was confusion and everyone thought that Ben Reilly(aka Scarlet Spider) was the real Peter Parker. He sacrificed his life to save Peter Parkers life, even though he was thought to be a clone, and it was revealed that Ben Reilly was the clone.
27.Yes, Godzilla himself.
28.Sabertooth has beaten Wolverine more times than Wolverine has beaten Sabertooth.
29.Pure power? in Marvel, yes, but Marvel/DC, no. The JLA has had the edge since Thor left the Avengers a while ago. Supes could take them all himself.
30.No

21: Who is Blaastar? I got one and he sure is ugly. He looks like a ewok wrestler.
He's one of 2 major Fantastic Four enemies residing within "The Negative Zone", a dimension that they sometimes travel through as an alternate route from point A to point anywhere else in the cosmos. He's the ruler of some planet within there.
22: I don't know if it's marvel related... but has any hero ever fought against Alien/Predator?
That's Dark horse related. They sometimes do Aliens crossovers with superheroes, I'm not aware of Predator ones except for that I believe Dc has done a Lobo Vs Predator. Right now Dc has a new Batman vs Aliens, I think there was a Superman Vs Aliens, and Wildstorm had an Aliens / Stormwatch crossover where, between issues, they killed almost all the Stormwatch cast. Interesting move.
23: Has there ever been a marvel/dc crossover comic?
PLENTY. Full-out Marvel Vs Dc stuff, individual Marvel character or team vs Dc Character or team; tons of it since the 80's starting with "X-men / Team Titans".
24: Has Galactus ever been in a war? Did he beat the snot ot of the opposition?
Well, he participated in "The Infinity War" and "The Infinity Gauntlet"... both times, though he's not a good guy, because if the universe is destroyed, he's a part of it and would die, and he didn't want that... niether time however did he reallly help "turn the tide".
25: Speaking of galactus, is he the most powerfull being in the universe?
He's more powerful than any earth-bound character int he Marvel universe, but on a cosmic entity scale there are those who make him look like a gnat. There is ETERNITY, the living embodiment of our universe itself and then THE LIVING TRIBUNAL, an entity that can do anything more or less if it will maintain the proper balance of the universe and supposedly works for a higher power still that has never been revealed.
26: Who is Scarlet Spidey? Everyone here seems to hate him.
The dreaded Spider Man clone who ruined continuity so badly that Marvel had to totally "re-set" the whole Spider Man mythos. The clone saga made fans so anti Spider-Man that his sales have still not recovered to this day, getting close to 10 years later.
27: Is there a comic about a huge monster? (like Godzilla)
Marvel did a lot of monster comics between the golden age of Captain America and the 20-years-later silver age where the superheroes returned. Their most recent "monster comics" have been VERY short lived, ill-advised series such as Devil Dinosaur and occasional silly limited series. Debatably their "Werewolf By Night" and "Man-Thing" series(es), first in the 70's then short lived relaunches in the late 90's were monster comics, but they really weren't your basic approaches to the archetype. Werewolf By Night was really "The Werewolf" as superhero more than monster. The hayday of Marvel monster comics was the 70's with that and "Tomb of Dracula"; there's nothing from them any more.
28: Who's stronger, Wolverine(booh!) or Sabertooth(yeah!)?
Sabretooth is much stronger. he does have legitimate, though minor superhuman strength while Wolverine is "merely" at the absolute peak of human potential.
29: I have come to like the Avengers clix, but are they also a powerfull organisation in the comics?
More often than not, they DO have a strong array of the most powerful people in the Marvel universe. If you count ALL the members they've ever had, where there is the current core team and then former or occasional Avengers can be called in as reserves at any time, they are unstoppable. They have had 3 God-class powers (Thor, Hercules, Starfox/Eros), 2 armored powerhouses both on a powerclass, by battlestuit standards on par with Dr. Doom (Iron Man, War Machine), the greatest strategic mind on the planet (Captain America), some of the greatest scientific minds on the planet (Henry Pym *Aka Ant Man, Giant Man, Goliath, Yellowjacket* and The Beast), many members of near god-class power level though not status (Thunderstrike, Captain Marvel/Photon (The female one), Sersi, Crystal, Mantis, Jack of Hearts, Wonder Man, Quasar, Namor) and then just VERY many others who are entirely devoted to the cause and are powerhouses in their own right (Vision, Scarlet Witch, Warbird/Ms. Marvel, Moondragon, Justice/ Marvel Boy, Dr. Druid, many more)
30: Not comic related, but game related... anyone ever tryed a solonavi or draconum in a HC game?
Heroclix really doesn't mix with Mage Knight very well at all. Inquest magazine has found ways to alter certain rules so that all 3 currently existing Wizkids Games (HC, MK & MechWarrior) can all fit on the HC grid, but it takes a lot of work. Best to leave each separate.

23: Has there ever been a marvel/dc crossover comic?
There have been many official cross overs. There have been the Amalgam series in which certain characters and concepts were added to each other and there have been several unofficial crossovers, like the Squadron Supreme/ Sinister which were Marvel's answer, originally, to the JLA.

There are some.
Superman and Spider-man for one Large oversized comic (They might have even done two). Lex Luthor and I think Doctor Octopus were in it too.
Spidey and Supes even fought against each other in it.

During the eighties or is it the late 70's, there were a number of crossovers. Like what ramplate said, the oversized Superman vs Spiderman was the best of the bunch. Others were Batman/Hulk and X-men/Teen Titans. The last and biggest crossover was the Marvel vs DC series pitting each universe's hero against each other in a slugfest of champions. The upcoming JLA/Avengers crossover will be the most anticipated. I can't wait for that one.
Did Marvel and D.C. cross over no one has staed the obvious. (AT least if they did I missed it.) Not only did they cross over for an entire month in a dozen titles the amaglamted for a month or two combing heros like Wolvirne and Batman Superman and Captian America so yes they have crossed over.

11: What the !"%$ killed Colossus? - Colussus came back to the X men beofre he died. Beast had made a cure for the dreaded legacy virus, but the only way for it to work would be for a mutant to take it and sacrifice himself so that a true cure could be made. because his sister illyana had contracted the legacy virus colussus sacrificed himself to save everyone else.
12: Who is Quasar? -- quasar has the nega bands from the old capt. marvel giving him all kinds of neat cosmic powers.
13: Why did Colossus become a villain? -he finally decided xaviers dream of peace wouldn't be fulfilled by his means, so he joined mags.
14: I know that some Marvel characters are in Capcoms video games, but are Capcom characters in Marvel comics? - I dont know for sure, but I do not belive so.
15: What'S this story of Thanos destroying like half of the universe? -read the infinity gauntlet trade paperback, u can get it at any comic store. he killed off half of the universe to try to get into deaths pants. (side note: he didn't score)
16: Ok Thor is the most powerfull hero... then there must be a vilain with fairly equal powers huh? Who could that be? - I don't know much DC, but in marvel, cosmic type guys like thanos and terrax could put a good whuppin on him, on pure strength levels Juggernauts pretty much the strongest villain in my opinion.
17: Are the evil zodiacs in the comics or just in the Avengers tv show? - in marvel comics theres been tons of Zodiac teams, they did usually fight the avengers, but they usually sucked.
18: Is Vision really a robot like in the tv show? -yes vision is an android created by ultron to destroy the avengers. he used the late wonder mans brain waves to give him intelligence and the vision eventually decided to join the avengers and whup on ultron.
19: What makes Dr.Doom so strong? I tought he was just a poor kid that had a hard childhood. -doom grew up a wandering gypsy in latervia, his mother was killed when he was a small child for being a witch and his father was killed for failing to heal a local lords wife of illness when he was about 12 or so. he then got a scholership to college in america where his face was scarred in a lab accident while trying to contact his mother in the netherworld.hes the smartest man on the planet period, and using his intelligence, he created his armor to give him strength and to hide his scarred face from the world. he then used his armor and his magical abilites inherited from his momma to go back to latervia and take over the country making it into the single best utopia in the world, thats why doom wants to rule the world, because he truly belives he can make it better. and hes probably right. this is just a nutshell on doom, check out these doom tradepaperbacks for more on the best comic villain of all time : dr. doom/dr. strange triumph and torment, the villainy of dr. doom, and emperor doom. but what makes him so strong, put it this way, take mr. fantastics intellect, iron mans aromor, dr. stranges magic and give him unlimited resources of a country, not to mention diplomatic immunity, and thats why dooms so strong.
20: Is venom good or evil? -both. it really depends on th comic youre reading, he was originally a villain, but fans loved him so much marvel tried to make him a vigilante hero in the mid 90's.

21: Who is Blaastar? I got one and he sure is ugly. He looks like a ewok wrestler.
hes just a fantastic four villain from the negative zone. like most ff villains (cept for doom) he sucks.
22: I don't know if it's marvel related... but has any hero ever fought against Alien/Predator?
mainly batman, theres a few trades out there the batman predator series is pretty good.
23: Has there ever been a marvel/dc crossover comic?
yes. there was a huge crossover back in the mid-90s, resluting in some cool fights. supes vs. hulk, batman vs. captain america, wolvie vs. lobo storm vs. woner woman, and so on.
24: Has Galactus ever been in a war? Did he beat the snot ot of the opposition?
hes not really a warrior, he just go around sucking the life from planets
25: Speaking of galactus, is he the most powerfull being in the universe?
he's up there, him the beyonder, the living tribunal, the celstials, those ginat cosmic guys just cant be mesured for power.
26: Who is Scarlet Spidey? Everyone here seems to hate him.
s.s. is probably one of the worst comic ideas ever. marvel decided to tell everyone that the wallcrawler they've loved for decades was actually a clone. scarlet spiderman was our spiderman with a new costume. the whole clone saga killed off a lot of comic fans.
27: Is there a comic about a huge monster? (like Godzilla)
28: Who's stronger, Wolverine(booh!) or Sabertooth(yeah!)?
depends on the fight. tooth is stronger and has more experience, but wolvies got the admantium. course, tooth has had admatium at different times.
29: I have come to like the Avengers clix, but are they also a powerfull organisation in the comics?
they're definately the premier marvel team. they've whupped pretty much every bad guy in comics from time to time.
30: Not comic related, but game related... anyone ever tryed a solonavi or draconum in a HC game?
can't help u there.
Thanks

Well, I'll have to get back to you with the rest of the questions, but as to who is the most powerful in the marvel universe, I would make the case for Galactus. There are other very powerful characters, but Galactus eats planets, and I don't think Thor could do this. This, ofcourse comes mostly from me seriously reading comics from 1964-1982. I realy don't know much about other characters that have come up since that time.
I do know that Galactus died, but a nearly as I can remeber, the Siver Surfer turned Galactu's syphoning machines on Galactus, so, you could make the case that the only thing strong enough to kill Galactus was, in fact, Galactus himself.

There was, it was called....Godzilla. Marvel made it in the 70s. You can probably find them cheap on Ebay.

22. Judge Dredd VS Aliens is out or will be in the VERY near future.
Superman has dealt with Aliens twice that I know of. They make it very difficult for him to keep his oath not to kill anything.
Batman's dealt with them at least once. The current Batman/Aliens miniseries had the Joker being impregnated by a facehugger... and becoming a dead-white Alien with a hideous red-lipped grin.
Batman has dealt with Predators at least twice. The first one had art by the Kuberts, and was quite good, in addition to making the case for an Alfred LE with an attack of 14 and zero damage, but five clicks of Medic...
The Skrulls were one of Marvel's first consistent alien races, making several appearances to annoy the Fantastic Four. They rule much of the Andromeda galaxy (or did, before Galactus ate their throneworld). They had a similar setup to Earth in their prehistory, with three branches of the species -- the Eternals, the regular Skrulls, and the Deviants -- but on their planet, the Deviant Skrulls exterminated the other two branches, and achieved dominance over the planet before they developed space travel. All Skrulls are natural shapeshifters, although they can't change their mass, only their shape. The entire species lost this power at one point, but got it back again, from what I understand. Historically, they were apparently fairly peaceful at one point, but became expansionistic and warlike after getting kicked in the teeth by the Kree Empire a few times, thus launching the Kree-Skrull War, which went on for quite some time until it spilled over into Earth's solar system, which got Captain Mar-Vell and the Avengers involved... and led to their current uneasy truce.
There were two Superman/Spiderman crossovers in the seventies. The second involved Dr. Doom and the Parasite, and established that Superman ain't necessarily stronger than the Green Hulk. There was also a rather odd Batman/Hulk crossover which threw the Shaper of Worlds and the Joker together... and a rather neat X-Men/Teen Titans crossover with art by Walt Simonson!
Galactus has been attacked on several occasions. He almost always annihilates his attackers utterly, within seconds. He WAS beaten rather badly when he tried (in desperation) to consume Earth after going too long without sustenance... and the Avengers, Dr. Strange, and the Fantastic Four beat the doodles out of him... and then saved his life... whereupon he suddenly ran off and ate the Skrull Throneworld, which got at least two major alien empires mad at us...
Blastaar is a conquering mongol type from the Negative Zone who likes to beat the pffft out of people. He's ruled and lost several empires there, simply due to the fact that he is wildly powerful, not too bright, and a very unpleasant person to deal with, even when he's on your side. His power involves shooting explosive power-blasts from his hands, in addition to super toughness and super strength. Has fought the FF several times.
The Spider-Clone saga made everyone mad because it invalidated many years of Spider-Man's history... because it said "Spider-Man is in fact one of the clones that the Jackal created back in the seventies. The REAL Spider-Man has been wandering around with amnesia since then under the name Ben Reilly." In short, it was one of those "it was all a dream" kind of stories. This may fly with the sort of people who watch "Dallas", but comics fans were VIOLENTLY p*ssed off about it, and said so, with their Emails and with their wallets. Kind of says something about the respective intelligence of comic freaks and soap fans, don't it?
The Infinity War: Thanos, the mad Titan, schemed to slaughter half the universe to impress the incarnation of Death. To do so, he gathered the six Infinity Gems, which grant total godlike power and omniscience when one person holds them all. Then, by snapping his fingers, he exterminated half of all life in creation. Naturally, Earth's superheroes had to do something about this. They did. The situation got fixed. Not the greatest storytelling around, but nice George Perez art, and recommended for HeroClix fans.
Mutants: when the Celestials began screwing around with Homo Erectus' gene structure, they divided the species into three basic subtypes: Eternals, Humans, and Deviants. The Eternals were hyperevolved and had cosmic energy manipulation powers. Humans were given a genetic "x-factor" that wouldn't manifest until they'd evolved past a certain point. Deviants were given a randomly variable genetic code that would wildly screw up their genetics for eons to come. To make a long story short, the "x-factor" was a latent ability to produce beneficial mutations. Some humans would "mutate" in such a way as to produce superpowers (as opposed to, say, cancer). The Inhumans came later, when the Kree showed up and began playing ghod with some of the local cavemen, inventing the Terrigen Mist and subjecting them to it in an attempt to genetically engineer a better variety of slave. They shooda known better. Oh, and there's two varieties of Eternal -- the Earth variety, and the related colony on Titan, tenth moon of Saturn. Thanos was a Titanian Eternal. The Earthbound variety, due to their habit of tinkering with their genes, is more powerful and longer lived, possessing true immortality.
(looks around) Did I get everything...?
As to another comic about 'big monsters', there was also the pseudo-prehistoric run of 'Devil Dinosaur', which was kind of like a small-non-fire-breathing-Godzilla-and-buddy series for a bit, in the mid-late 70's (or at least that's when I ran across one).

Well you see, the thing is, explaining the alternate/parallel dimensions would be more confusing than just accepting them as they are.
I'll throw in what I have anyway on the realms thing.
Up in space, there is a citadel (accessible to by all of the dimensions) which is basically the bastion where the dimensions are kept-looked at-controlled.
Roma, the guardian of the multiverse (all those happy dimensions that exist) oversees that everything is kept in order over the dimensions (most especially so that they don't begin to merge, spreading a 'reality cancer' among the rest, otherwise she'd have to destroy them). She has a podium type deal in her room/viewing room that holds all of the dimensions in the forms of thin slivers of crystal. When she has to destroy a dimension, she destroys the crystal and its gone.
Roma is a godess, literally, so is her father Merlin a god. And that is basically the base info that you'll get on the different dimensions.
The earth(dimension) that most comics takes place on is Earth 616, however whenever you see characters popping in from other dimensions or realms, its always from a different 'earth/dimension'.
Heh, told you it'd be confusing.

Where's the love for Constrictor? Just cause his Heroclix figure sucks doesn't mean he's totally useless... c'mon, he took on the Hulk!

Collussus is dead...please let him rest in peace. Nightcrawler on the other hand I believe is having doubts about being a priest and I think it has something to do with a woman???
Hey all. I am a newbie here but not to comics...I just haven't read them since 98. I have a few questions if some of you have the time...
1. Why oh why did Taskmaster change his costume? The original was just near perfect.
2. Agendas. What is the difference between the MLF and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants? Seems to me they both want Mutant superiority.
3. What's with X-force? Cable as I remember, trained the new mutants to be more proactive to fight evil mutants, and in some cases kill them..Like what he did to Black tom Cassidy, shooting him at point blank range.
4. Who or what is the Gideon Trust over in FF? I saw that they were torturing the criminal Spot...What came of that?
5. What happened to the Morlocks? I know the Marauders killed alot of them, but I thought they had regathered with new recruits. ARe they still in the sewers of Manhatten?

I daresay that comic vets like myself know nothing about the changes to Taskmaster in Deadpool, or the intricacies of X-Force... you should've asked for a fan of recent X-glut.

1. I have no clue why they changed his costume, and I agree it was better before.
2. Their agendas were similar (up with mutants down with humans) but I think the Stryfe lead faction of the MLF was largely a diversion for Stryfe's larger plan. I could be wrong here as I didn't read this entire arc.
3. Sadly X-Force parted ways with Cable and became a whiny kind of Marvel comics meets MTV's Road Rules/Real World where they did alot of wandering and not encountering much of anything worth reading about. I believe they are currently found in a book (wich I find to be poorly drawn) hanging out with a floating potato thing wearing a belt with an "X" on it.
X-Static? something like that.
4. Can't help you here. Is this Spot the one from Spiderman with the white costume with the spots on it?
5. Morelocks are tough. Last I knew there were still some in the sewers.
Sorry I couldn't help more, much like the Game the latest trends escape me. I hope Taskmaster wakes up from a bad dream and puts his old costume back on soon.
:)
