The topic says it all...I'm happy as could be to see the new set looking so great (and I'm a DC guy, too!), and have always been a fan of sealed play. Unfortunately, I haven't played since shortly after the Arkham release due to work-life taking over heroclix-life and the retailer closest to me, the Bullpen, has since sadly gone out of business, as far as I can tell.

I did use to go to events at Comic Cult in Torrance, but have no idea if they're doing anything this weekend based on the site...and they're a good 25 miles from me, so a bit hard to visit most days (though a really awesome venue, I will say...I only wish I could go there more often).

As it stands, I'm not even sure where I can buy boosters, much less try out the new set. :noid:

So sad that a city with so many great comic stores would seem so devoid of clix! :disappointed:

I recently told of a venue called Brave New World Comics in Santa Clarita. Tournies on Sundays at 1pm. I'm going to check it out today, I'll let you know how it goes.

The Bullpen is now "Extra Innings." It's only moved a few blocks down the street towards Lincoln and Washington Blvd. As far as I know, they're getting their clix shipment in on Monday (which sadly, I'm not in town for so I have to wait until next week to get mine).

I THINK there'll be some events there, but I'm not certain what's going on.

Good to know! I'll have to check it out...I would've never known they moved. Alas, I haven't gotten to play in any sealed yet - tried Njoy since it was the only venue posting an event here in the forums, but it was deserted, and the person running the store didn't seem to be aware of any tournaments going on that day.

Finally I can get a brick!

Another place to check out is AllWays Gaming up in Chatsworth, which is where I go pretty regularly when I can - they run tourneys on Saturdays at 12:30 pm and have been all throughout the down year, with a different scenario each week. Send a PM to "Steadfast" here on the realms, and he can put you on the mailing list to know what the game is each week. I know they just did a sealed this weekend that I couldn't make it to.

They're cool - it's a very theme-friendly group - expressly stated that theme teams get bonus consideration for fellowship.

Njoy Games & Comics in Northridge is also running events on Saturdays. We're probably going to be scheduling these events at 4:30pm for now. We're also debating doing events on weeknights (probably Wednesdays) depending on what players want.

Hm, for some reason I couldn't find extra innings - I'm guessing it's not yet in googlemaps/yahoo search whatnot. Let me know if you hear about any events they're having - I'm still hunting! Will make a few calls today, since I really hope to take advantage of the long workless weekend to get in a tournament or two. Thanks again!

Does anyone know how often people play at this venue? I'm looking to start playing out more and I'm in the LA Area.

I actually haven't heard of any games at Extra Innings, but AllWays in Chatsworth is pretty much every Saturday at 12:30 pm.

I think this weekend, the game is something like 600 points, and you need at least one Deity keyword on the team, but I'll try to remember to post the scenario here when the judge sends it out. There's an email list you can get on - if you PM me your email, I can ask the judge to put you on it.

The first tournament this year will start on this Saturday [Jan. 16th] at 11:00am. It will be a sealed event - two boosters.

Brea is located right next to Fullerton in Orange County. I will be handing out my extras from Hammer of Thor to anyone who wants it [it's not too many, but you never know].

Does the venue in Brea have regular weekly games? Also, anybody in the LA/OC area that wants to get a regular game going during the week, PM me. I live closer to LAX but I really want to start playing regularly and mix it up with some new people. The weekends are often-times too busy for me to get out to my local shop and play.

Do any of you know of any places in or near the Long Beach area? I just got into playing heroclix last month. I was introduced to this while visiting friends up in nor cal, and none of my friends down here play it.

Welcome! I'm not too familiar with places in Long Beach, but I'm going to try and get a regular game in the South Bay area going. Also, I heard that Comic Cult in Torrance has regular games but I haven't been able to make it down there yet.

I'm pretty new to the game too (started playing around August '09) but I'd be down to get a game with you somewhere.
