Okay boys and girls, here we have 128 Classic Songs from the 50's and 60's, from some of our Favorite Musical Acts, which will be pitted against one another, Match by Match, Round by Round, weeding them all out until they get to the FINAL MATCH, which will have our two favorite 50s/60s songs face against one another to see which one emerges as Grand Champion of our latest Rock Wars!

As always, this TOC should be voted using a very simple criteria, which song do YOU like more, which do YOU feel you would rather listen to, and which would YOU say is ultimately more deserving to move on. Nothing to do with Classic or not, this is based on personal preference, YOURS. :)

Pretty basic really. Songs are matched up, you all vote on the one you like more, the winner goes to the Next Round, and we do this over and over again until the Rounds are Over. I do ask that you all give objective opinions and votes here, listening to All songs and arguments here within this TOC with an open mind, beginning to end, and base your honest votes from that.

I know we all believe we know all of these songs already, but as always I ask that you please listen to them again with each new match before voting. Thanks all. :)

So without further adieu, why dont we get started with the Next of Many matches to come, in HCRs latest Rock Wars, Favorite 50s / 60s Song!

I now give you:

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE
(Led Zeppelin) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxm-4AwtB5w)

vs.

SUITE: JUDY BLUE EYES
(Crosby, Stills & Nash) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roEL74IaYPk)

So what say you all. Which of these songs will move onto the Next Round, and which will fade away back to the time they came?

Going with Suite Judy Blue Eyes, though I won't mind who goes through.

There are some Led Zeppelin songs that I like the only reason why I like a whole lotta love is because the first line of the song sounds like Robert Plant is saying "I like Kool-Aid", unfortunately he is the also the reason why I do not like the band.

My vote goes for CSN - suite: judy blue eyes

Suite: Judy Blue Eyes is such a classic CSN song. As singers and songwriters they were nearly unparalleled, and this is one of their all-time best. The harmonies are impeccable and it's this sound that paved the way for America, Seals and Crofts and so many others.

Led Zeppelin though, what can you say about what arguably is one of the five greatest rock bands in history. A recent article by a British magazine for Drummers (sorry I can't recall the name) had John Bonham as favorite drummer of all-time. Jimmy Page is considered by most to be one of the top 5 guitarists ever, John Paul Jones was unsung as bassist and should be in the discussion of best players ever, and Robert Plant with his banshee like vocals pulled it all together.

It's a very tough choice on this one and the two styles are almost polar opposites of each other. Gotta go with Zeppelin and Whole Lotta Love as the song I'd listen to first.

Suite: Judy Blue Eyes for me. I'm kind of surprised to see CSN faring so well against a Zeppelin classic.

At first glance it seemed like this would be a tough choice. My favorite CSN song against a strong Led Zeppelin song.

But then I thought about it some more as the songs played.

Whole Lotta Love still rocks hard, and I think back to seeing Plant/Page in concert and this song beginning and the power that was in the air.
While Suite: Judy Blue Eyes is... My favorite song from a band that I think has some decent stuff. Sorry, not into the whole hippy thing. Never have been.

Whole Lotta Love!

Yea! Another easy one - there are only a couple of Zep songs I like, and this ain't one of 'em.

Suite: Judy Blue Eyes to advance
