Galactic Marksman: [/b]Give Star-Lord a ranged combat action. If he targets a single opposing character, modify his attack value by +2. If he targets more than one opposing character, modify his damage value by +2.
Don't hate me for pointing this out, but read that SP carefully. It says "Give Star-Lord a ranged combat action" and NOT "When Star-Lord is given a ranged combat action..."
What's the difference you ask?
Running Shot works by giving a character a Power Action.
Because you can't give a character more than one action token per turn, Starlord won't be able to combine Running Shot with Galactic Marksman.
right? :nervous:
If this is still the wording for Running Shot(I haven't looked in a FF rulebook), then the Ranged Combat Action is a free action given in the Running Shot, so it would still work, I think. Unless you are arguing the text, "give him a ranged combat action" meaning that you can't give him the Power Action to start the Running Shot. But, and this is just my opinion, the ranged combat action he is given in running shot would or should count for the Special power, but I could certainly be mistaken. I am not Game design and don't know their intent.
RUNNING SHOT (OPTIONAL): Give this character a power action; halve its speed value for the action. Move this character up to its replacement speed value and give it one ranged combat action as a free action. This character must declare a target to which it can draw a clear line of fire from the square where it intends to end its move in order to use this power.

The SP will work fine with RS. Look at the text on powers that already work with RS, namely EE, Incap, PW and PB. They all say "Give this character a ranged combat action" (well, Incap says close or ranged, but you know what I am saying). The wording is consistent with Star-Lord's SP.

With running shot you are taking a power action and then moved up to half your speed value and given a ranged combat action as a free action, thus allowing you to trigger galactic marksman.
It does not specify what the ranged combat action has to be or where it has to come form. Galactic Marksman works for the same reason that Energy Explosion, Pulse Wave, and Psychic Blast all do.
Just to agree... Yes it works fine for the same reasons that have been stated.

INCAPACITATE Give this character a close combat or ranged combat action; its damage value becomes 0 until the action has been resolved. If the attack succeeds against a target that has zero or one action token, give the target an action token.
PSYCHIC BLAST Give this character a ranged combat action. Damage from the attack is penetrating damage
PULSE WAVE Give this character a ranged combat action; halve its range value until the action has been resolved. All powers and team abilities possessed or used by characters within range of this attack as well as feats assigned to them are ignored until the action has been resolved, though wild cards using this power can use the team ability of a friendly character within range of this attack. At least one opposing character must be within range of this attack to activate this power. Draw lines of fre to every character (friendly and opposing) within range in every direction; these lines of fre ignore characters, but are affected normally by terrain. If clear lines of fre can be drawn to two or more characters, this character’s damage value becomes 1 until the action has been resolved. Make a single attack roll and compare the result to the defense value of each character in range; each character hit is dealt damage. Attacks made with this power do not target characters.
ENERGY EXPLOSION Give this character a ranged combat action; this attack can target only characters. Compare the result of the attack roll to the defense value of each character adjacent to a target of the attack to determine if the attack also succeeds against it. Each character successfully hit is dealt damage equal to the number of times it was hit by this attack (characters adjacent to multiple targets might be hit more than once by this attack). A critical hit with this attack automatically hits the target(s) of the attack and any characters adjacent to the target(s), and deals 1 additional damage to all characters hit. If a character successfully evades, it evades all hits by this attack.
Are you trying to say Running Shot doesn't work with PB, PW, EE or Incap?
