View Full Version : Urgent Question
Hi there,
I've a very urgent question (because I've to judge a tournament this night)and don't have the timne to read through all of the threads:
If a flier wants to carry a freindly figure, is it necessary for him to start flying ?
So, if Magneto with a movement of 8 for example wants to carry Juggernaut, can he only fly 6 squares in the distance or can he soar the whole 8 squares with the Juggy-package ?
Jochen
Don't know if this will be quick enough...
The only requirement for a figure to carry another...
is that the carrying figure have Flight....
The figure with Flight can carry another friendly figure his full Speed value. This figure can carry in either Hovering or Soaring modes.
This figure must be Hovering and adjacent to the figure being carried at the beginning of his move in order to carry.
The carried figure must be dropped in an adjacent square at the end of movement (meaning that the figure doing the carrying must be in Hovering mode).
Does this help?
Hi Tsannik,
that was way faster than I expected, thanks a lot. ;)
So that means a flier can carry a neighbouring figure his own full movement range.
What if the carried one (Juggernaut) is in a brawl. Does he have to break away if Magneto (who is not in a fight) wants to carry him away ?
Jochen
The flier can carry another figure for his full Speed value (while either Hovering or Soaring).
Now, also remember any figure with Battle Fury cannot be carried.
Now if Juggernaut was base-to-base with an opposing figure.
And Magneto was not base-to-base with that same opposing figure, but adjacent to Juggernaut...
Then Magneto can carry Juggernaut... Juggernaut will not have to roll for breakaway as Juggernaut is not using an action to move.
Understand?
Only the character doing the movement action needs to roll for breakaway so the passenger doesn't have to roll. If the flyer is not adjacent to enemy then the flyer won't have to roll for breakaway either.
Remember though that Juggs may have Battle Fury so may not be carried.

OK did I understand it right:
In the previous case (even if Juggy cannot be carried because of Fury...) The flier has to take 1 to begin Hovering and 1 to drop the ally. So his 8 speed becomes 6 speed, right?
No. Picking up and dropping off a character do not cost any movement points. If you have a speed of 8 you can pick up a passenger and move 8 squares and drop him. The only movement penalty would be if you switched to soaring after picking him up. You would pay 1 point to switch to soaring and 1 point to switch back to hovering. Only by soaring would the 8 be reduced to 6.
Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot folks,
these infos helped a lot.:D
