Hey Everyone!
I truly wish Whizkids would create a video game of heroclix so that when it's 3 am at night and I think of a new combo team of figures I can test them out on my own.
I know that the dealing with the rights to all the characters might be sticky but where there is money to be made. Each expansion of heroclix figures can be an expansion for the strategy video game.
Heck even if they make it so you could play online against others around the world would make it even more awesome!!!
I'm a dreamer. Anyone else want this dream as well?
Tim :)

It's a good idea, but it wouldn't be that profitable for Wizkids.
Think about it, Heroclix is a collectables miniatures game. To get the figures you want, you have to buy starter kits, booster packs, premiere sets, large figs, etc, etc.
With a Heroclix video game, someone is going to eventually burn a copy of the game and the "expansions" themselves, thus, Wizkids loses out.
Also, the miniatures are worth money themselves, so you're getting (hopefully) a lot more than what you paid for.
If you want to play an online superhero rpg, play Freedom Force or wait until City of Heroes comes out. With Freedom Force you can download skins of your favourite characters and put them in to battle in either single or multiplayer mode.
Personally, I like the idea of carting all my Heroclix figs to my friend's place for a game, rather than arranging a time to meet on the net and play that way.
I'm inclined to agree with Weezer.
I have Freedom Force for the PC. It's dropped to $12.99 at Wal-Mart. I don't know why, either -- it's a great game, and very much captures the feeling of dynamic tactical superhero fistfests, complete with superpowers, explosions, knockback, and destructible objects. And when you download the patch from their web site, you even get a "danger room" mode that lets you assemble your own HeroClix-style battles, using any environment from the game!
...but it ain't HeroClix. I really enjoy getting out and playing games with PEOPLE, not just against the PC, or even playing online. There's a human element in face-to-face play that I just can't get any other way. Plus, I LIKE trading figures.
...and while you CAN modify the little computer heroes... well... it just ain't the same thing.
Freedom Force was fun to play for a little while, but having the game on such a tracked story decreased some of the fun value. Also it was frustrating that created characters could only be inserted at very specific points in the game. Definitely worth checking out, but I felt there wasn't much longterm replay value. City of Heroes is looking to be more interesting as it's a MMORPG with heroes, but there will probably be some limitations there as well.
There was a Star Trek game called Conquest that mixed the strategy/collectible card game style with online play. You could buy the software and a basic booster pack at a retail location, then you could buy booster packs online that would contain various pieces. This could work for Heroclix and would allow for easier trading among players. The downside is the lack of any actual physical pieces, one of the best parts of collecting clix in the first place. It *could* work for Hero Clix, but I'm not so sure it would be comprable with the physical game or anywhere near as fun to collect.
