First off, Welcome to HCREALMS. This is a great place to pick up tons of strategy and info on Heroclix. If you're new to the game, or just new to the board, here's a few tips that you might want to keep in mind:
1. Searching: When you enter the forum, have options. You can search all new messages (hyperlink under your screen name, at the top left of the screen), or you can enter a discussion thread and browse topics (Organized by date of last post). If you really want to cut to the chase, scroll down to the bottom of the page with all of the topics listed and you'll see a search box in the lower right hand corner. You can type in words and the board will pull up topics for you. Do it right now with "Fastball Special" and watch the magic happen!
2. When reading posts, you may be initially confused by all of the groupings of consanents everywhere, like CCE vs. RS and so on and so forth. This isn't LeetSpeak (god help us), but rather abbreviations to common powers and abilities. If you'll pull out your PAC (or Powers and Abilities card), you'll be able to figure out pretty fast that SS is Super Strength, and RCE is Ranged Combat Expert. Certain other figures have nicknames, too. Cheap fliers like Vulture are called Taxis. That's a joke, son, a gag! I keep pitchin' 'em and you keep missin' 'em...
3. Keep in mind that everyone on this message board is an expert (and I mean that seriously and sarcastically). Opinions (and tempers) run high. It's best to take everything with a grain of salt and not get too offended until you get a feel for that person's posts. Subjective viewpoints litter these discussions like a bucket of Legos in a Kindergarten classroom.
