I don't care about that Elektra /Hand, Bendis nonsense. Elektra is his old girlfriend and should ally with him not fight him.

I added the Ringmaster and Princess Python to the list as I remember DD fighting the Circus of Crime a time or two.

What's Echo's status vs DD?


She wants to be him or on the inside is him. So thats an ally? New Avengers when Dr. Strange cast a spell to see their members on the inside. Punisher? An Ally? He tied Matt up with a gun and forced him to admit by pulling a trigger on an empty gun that he would kill for justice. Ally in the sense that he likes to teach him lessons and would help him if Kingpin got out of hand definatly. But otherwise Punisher is on his own side.

As for the Punisher, that arc that you cite is a Garth Ennis story that I choose to ignore because Ennis has a jones for tearing superheroes down.

I choose to consider the Marvel Knights storyline where DD and Punisher were allies in spite of themselves.

There's only that ambiguity because Ennis put it there and I don't respect Ennis enough to accept that. Ennis hates the concept of superheroes. His entire career has been about mocking and tearing them down. He's trashed on Batman, Spiderman, Kyle Rayner G.L. and anybody else the editors have let him trash. I can't accept Ennis' take on DD or the Punisher for that matter.

Frank Castle is a long way from being a saint but he does have a moral code that prevents him from whacking the average joe. So Frank gets to fight alongside the heroes while Echo has to play with the bad guys because she is unstable and shouldn't be trusted.

Man, someone needs to read Frank Miller's run...when he, you know, created Elektra and redefined Daredevil as a character people began to care about.

She got her training from The Hand. More often than not, Elektra has been a villain.
