from what we have seen of his dial how good do you think he'll play?

For 168 points he's an interesting package, but could be confusing to try to make an effective 300 pt build with. Up front he's more of a manipulator, which would call for him to have one or more active attackers to help him out. Mid-dial he's sleeping and would be looking for perhaps those same attackers to come rally around him (sharing his 18/19 Defense) while he heals them over the course of three sleeping turns.

The trick there will be to allow him to be hit enough to knock him seventh click (the first of the three final ones, with HSS, flight, RCE and the return of some damage-reducers, when he could theoretically take a more direct hand in taking out an enemy that will, hopefully, be well-damaged by that point.

I'm not saying it's the best team-up, but I notice that he and Balder make 298 pts.

I would definitely try him in a Bizarro tournament. :)

Good call... though his Support clicks would be fairly bizarre, too. Picking one or two allies who also finish strong would be important.

I played him in a 500 point game last week and he's not too impressive to me.

He doesn't really put out much damage. And the 19 defense on odin sleep isn't what it used to be. The fact that you can't do anything useful whlie you're in it gives them a minute to position, hit you off 19, then likely finish you off since his end dial defense isn't stellar.

ok, well what strategy would you use to make work. what feats are a must. i have to go with mental shields. or maybe tirade or novalblast.

He needs to be played in a big enough game that he can have a few warriors or Valkyrie around him when he is in sleep mode.
Thor's defend will keep their defense high.

The sleep tokens go on his card, not on Thor.
He can turn off defend on your turn and heal his surrounding allies or have a Valkyrie heal him.

Something like: Asgardian theme teams.

168 HA105 Thor, the Reigning
91 HA009 Malekith
93 HA033 Sif
37 HA014 Asgardian Warrior
37 HA014 Asgardian Warrior
37 HA014 Asgardian Warrior
37 HA014 Asgardian Warrior

500

or

168 HA105 Thor, the Reigning
7 AAF102 Enervation
38 HA012 Valkyrie
64 HA020 Karnilla
8 SIF005 Camouflage
59 HA048 Spider-Man
15 ORF006 Pounce
141 HA011 Enchantress
500

or

168 HA105 Thor, the Reigning
91 HA009 Malekith
101 HA018 Fandral
96 HA034 Hogun
103 HA059 Volstagg
38 HA012 Valkyrie
37 HA014 Asgardian Warrior
37 HA014 Asgardian Warrior
121 HA060 Kurse
8 MUF102 Protected
800

I'm sure I can make much more competitive teams with him, but these are fun enough.
Always the main goal.

Okay Entrenched is good feat so anyone adjacent ignores critical hits meaning no auto hits on a 12 or the extra point of damage and the charactor doesn't suffer knockback. Another trick park him next to somebody with Defenders/JSA so the replacement defense can be daisy chained to all the other members with those team abilities. One can also use him on a Fantastic Four team yup have him replace the defense of just one member then use the Fantastic Four Feat and BAM every member of the team will have Thor's defense best of all THAT FEAT IS FREE.

i'm sorry but i don't believe either of those are legal actions. but i did think about entrenched too, but with the 10% rule i like mental shield better. but i do like those ideas what else do you have?

doesn't do muck damage. but he has a PW of 3 damage.with a 10 attack. maybe use alittle inside information to have a 12 attack.

Just keep in mind Entrench works both ways... make sure to cancel it before your figures make attacks so they get the benefit of critical hits.

No, it's fully legit. The 'shared defense daisy chain' we call it sometimes.

I think the hardest thing about playing that piece will be to get early offense out of him, and the second hardest will be to avoid him taking enormous damage early.

Using TK to put him in position will be very risky. In higher-point games you *might* be able to use TK (Malekith perhaps) to try for a single-target Pulse wave, but I simply don't think TtR will withstand a counter-attack.

From the looks of his dial, I think a good strategy will probably be to team him with SR Valkyrie (unfortunately, this would need to be a 400+ game) who can carry TtR and protect him from ranged attacks, while having move+attack/charge herself.

Feats? I suggest defensive ones only. Protected is an obvious one. Nanoarmor is probably the next best. If you MUST have an offensive feat, Compel might fit the bill...depending on TtR's teammates/minions.

A friendly common Valkyrie is practically a necessity if you play this figure: You can use her carry power, and her support could be crucial while TtR is on his "not so reigning" clicks.
