View Full Version : Lone Star Comics Arlington Tx Events
The new schedule for Heroclix events at the Central Arlington ( Cooper St near UT Arlington ) Lone Star Comics is now Saturday evenings at 5 pm.
The actual setup for each event is still up in the air but we will be there playing each Saturday.
11-28-09 This week we'll do another 2 booster sealed event but this time we'll try it at 400 pts. Give us a bit more room to play with bigger figures.
We do have prize kits and maps available. Probably be going with the Runaways ATA for the prize and maps for participation as long as we have them.
Presently taking suggestions for scenarios or build restrictions for later events. Post or PM any questions or just give me a head's up if you are planning on coming by.
I will be there as always. I'm sure we can think of some interesting scenarios to run. Hopeful to have some other playes join us to have a fun time.
12-5 The event for this week will be 400 pt constructed - no cardboard - FF or newer Marvel, CD or newer DC. Indy collector sets ok but not the set.
I think the set list will be pretty standard for our constructed events. It allows a wide variety of available figure while curbing the use of some of the more abused figures. I will soon put together a list for feats that are eligible but I'll keep it to no cards for the time being. This also allows brand new players to keep up since this set lacked any cards.

I will be there, I was looking for a venue closer to where I live.
About feats and BFCs, they are all now approved as print-and-play.

Real life kept me from any gaming last week (once again) but if I have to sedate everyone in my house :eek: to get to Lone Star this Saturday I will.
Is there a new format for this weekend?
We have a newer player supposed to come by who's trying to get into the game. Because of this we are defaulting to a 400 pt two booster sealed format this weekend.
We'll do something a bit more creative next weekend - most likely a big point game with some restrictions.
12-12 - 400pt 2 booster sealed. Battle Field Condition Legendary Day as prize.

As far as cardboard goes - All feats and BFCs are considered legal with the following exceptions -
NO
In Contact With Oracle
Warbound
Protected - 1 per team maximum
ALL ATAs - every ATA will require every member of the team assigned the ATA to have the keyword of the new Team ability ( ex - Thunderbolts will only work for figures that have the Thunderbolts keyword along with the Avengers team ability ). If any of the team that is being replaced lack the keyword then the ATA cannot be used.

How about special objects?
Special objects are all legal.

Convention Style this week - 300 pts. AVENGERS and newer in Marvel with JUSTICE LEAGUE and newer in DC. LOSH considered legal.
All cardboard ( including special objects ) follows the same retirement rules.
Big time prize this week - MJOLNIR special object.
Pull out your best stuff and get set for battle.

I can't make it this week but you guys should go ahead and play something.
Let's make it:
500 pts. - Lone Star retirement rules ( look at the 12-19 post ). These will be our standard retirement guidelines for restricted play. We'll call it Lone Star rules so that I don't have to post it over and over.
Pretty simple but plenty of room to get creative.
See you guys next week and I'll put together a special scenario to play.
That sounds like a lot of fun but what prize are we playing for or are we just playing for fun.
I'll hand out one of the cards next week to whoever comes. I don't want to give out a figure the week I'm not there to mediate everything. I know the cards aren't much of a prize at this point but its something.

Worst Team Ever .... or is it ??
This will be a fun one. You are going to build a 400 pt team out of any set in the Special Power era ( Avengers to HoT ). No figure can be less than 50 pts and no figure can be 150 pts or higher. No feats at all and no bystanders.
Here's the catch : Before each round you and your opponent will roll one die each. If they are both even or odd you play with your own team. If one is even and the other odd, you switch teams.
For this split personality tournament we'll play for the figure that is both powerhouse and garbage at the same time : Thor, The Reigning.
Same format as last week since we didn't get to play it.

In honor of the Big Game:
Super Bowl Scenario
You build two teams an offense and a defense. (NO Feats)
Who ever rolls highest, may choose which team they want to run.
The other person must run the opposite side. (If I win choose offense, he MUST choose defense)
For offense, here's what you'll need:
5 linemen - your total point value (for all 5 figures totaled together) may not exceed 500 point and must having starting invuln or imprev
1 tight end - must have the giant symbol and can not exceed 100 points
2 wide receivers - all figures must have starting HS or running shot and each figure can not exceed 100 for points
1 fullback - can not exceed 50 points
1 running back - must have starting leap/climp and can not exceed 50 points
1 quarterback - must have starting leadership and can not exceed 100
Total possible points are 1,000
For defense, here's what you'll need:
4 linemen - your total point value (for all 4 figures totaled together) may not exceed 400 point and must having starting invuln or imprev
3 linebackers - your total point value (for all 3 figures totaled together) may not exceed 300 point and they must have starting charge
2 cornerbacks- must having starting leap/climp your total point value (for all 2 figures totaled together) may not exceed 200 point
1 free saftey - must have starting HS or running shot and can not exceed 50 points
1 strong saftey - must have starting phase/teleport and can not exceed 50 points
Total possible points are 1,000
6 actions with either side of the ball.

They've all wanted to be world conquerors - now is their time. Build an 800 point team of ALL Villains (5 actions). Choose one leader: Brainiac, Lex Luthor, Dr. Doom, Gorilla Grodd, Kang, Darkseid, General Zod, Ra's Al-Ghul, Baron Zemo, M.O.D.O.K., Super Skrull, Ultron, Vandal Savage, Red Skull, Apocalypse, Sinestro, Trigon, Magus, Loki or Magneto. The rest of the team must cost less than the leader AND BE from the same Universe. ALL leaders are considered Arch-Enemies of each other.
Lone Star rules ( sole exception being the leader figure itself, all versions of these are legal )
