The new Mac Gargan Venom has so many options. What feat cards would you put on him to make him into a terror for your opponents?

Camouflage, a TKer and the Dynamostat. Wherever Venom goes, TK the Dynamostat next to him.

Entangle, Takedown... Although, I think that inspires dread more than terror.

Sneak and Swingline to make sure he gets to where he needs to go all on his own. You could use Infiltrate instead of Sneak if you want a cheaper (but more restrictive) alternative. Infiltrate would be your only option if you're playing in a restricted format.

Pummel. He meets the prerequisites for his entire dial. On his BCF clicks, you can use Pummel for the attack roll and save your PC for the damage roll.

All of that makes him 120 points, though. Might want to pick just a couple.

I don't play with feats that often. When I do, the feats are usually thematic to the character. With that said, Venom is just begging to be boxed up with:

Entangle,
Camouflage,
Takedown.

Supernova isn't retired in restricted is it?

No it's not so Sneak would be fine to use in any normal event restricted or not.

Lunge, Pummel, Camouflage, Trick Shot (just for the comedic value)

Remember Venom's trait allows him too USE Leap Climb meaning it's not a power he actually possesses and a trait that only allows the use of a power can not have it's use OUTWITTED

He has Leap/Climb as a trait, so you may as well get rid of these since they don't really do anything for you (other than give a +1 to speed with Swingline, but that's kind of superfluous with his 9 speed).

I think the best bet would be:

entangle 8pts
camo 8pts
lunge 5pts

Lunge is what lets him get to where he needs to be with those Flurry/Battle Fury clix so he can steal some energy.

I think I like pounce and vault on him as well. Full move with a 10 attack and 3 damage, plus the extra 2 move from lunge, then vault him around for another possible 2 squares if you move to the other side of the opposing figure.

Why not? Feats prereqs can be met with it now.

Nothing is retired anymore "retirement" was suspended when Wizkidz folded and wasn't reinstituted because the belief is people would rather play with the figures in the new set than continue to use one's they own.

Yea I know - but some venues still have restricted and unrestricted tourneys. He specifically states "you will only be able to use Infiltrate in restricted" which wasn't true because Supernova is part of a restricted build.

So I fail to see any point to your post. Venues can still run restricted and unrestricted formats for their events, which any intelligent venue will do if they want to be flexible with tourney builds for a specific event.

You can indeed assign feats using traits as the prerequisite. Traits ARE powers, abilities or effects that are present throughout the dial.

He sure can and the use of it can't be outwitted if Venom's trait said he possesses Leap Climb then the power could be outwitted but because Venom only uses Leap Climb he in effect doesn't have it and you can't outwit a power the charactor doesn't have. It's a loop hole big enough to drive a truck through since they allow charactors who use powers via an SP to meet feat requirements and a trait is an ability that allows a charator to use or possesse a power. The charactor meets the feat requirement because he can use or possesse that power the how is irrelevant

My point was "Restricted" no longer exists it is simply a senario like "Highlander" or "Storm Machine" any venue that enforces restricted play should tell it's players they've adopted the senario as a house rule.

OK you all missed the best feat for him

Lunge:

its 5 points and he can use it every click since he has leap/climb trait.

Also I would pounce with him, he does 2 dmg to start then he goes to 3 so he gets better with the pounce.

so for 93 points he can move 12 squares and attack with a 10av, then when he is based the opposition will have a very hard time with him. Tie up as many as you can.

I used him in sealed and he did wonderfully. He avoided 6 attacks over the 3 games, thats 2 per game avg. thats very good and when they do hit him he is soo deep that he can hurt you with the flury/steal energy.

I did not think of him much at first but now I love his dial.

Ah, I thought Sneak was from Sinister... And I forgot about the trait. Pounce and Lunge are definitely good options. You could use Passenger, too, if you want to bring a buddy along.
