Having spent plent of hours watching the film Mystery Men I turned to thinking what would they be like in Herocllix. So I decided to find out...
#1 The Shoveller
Rookie - Range 0, Cost 17
SP - 6,5,4,4,3
AT - 7,6,6,5,5
DE - 14 (to), 13 (to), 13,12,11
DA - 2,2,1,1,1
This represents him at the beginning of the film, ie a middle aged wannabe with a shovel. The armour represents his son's baseball gear!
Experienced - Range 0, Cost 31
SP - 7,7,6,6,5,4
AT - 8,8,7,7,6,6
DE - 15 (to), 14 (to), 13 (to), 12 (esd), 12 (esd),11
DA - 2 (le), 2 (le), 1 (cce), 1(cce), 1,1
The EXP version is how he is at the end of the movie after the Sphinx's training. He has learnt to use his shovel to deflect attacks, and exhibits his leadership skills. After taking some damage he concentrates on his self and his new found CCE abilities.
Veteran - Range 0, Cost 54
SP - 8 (ch), 7 (fl), 7 (fl), 6,6,5,4
AT - 9 (bcf), 8,8,7,7,6,6
DE - 15 (to), 14 (to) ,13 (to), 13 (esd), 12 (esd) ,12 (esd), 1
DA - 2 (le), 2 (le), 2 (le), 1 (cce), 1 (cce) ,1,1
The VET version is how the Shoveller could develop when his team fill the gap left by Captain Amazing. He can now open with a devastating charge attack (the BCF) , and follow up with lightning blows of his high-tech shovels (FLURRY). He has continued to hone the skills he learnt earlier in his career.
Please let me know what you think! If anyone is interested I'll do some of the other characters in the near future, though if anyone can think of a way to do Invisible Boy please let me know.
Invisible boy would be nearly impossible, because as you know, his powers only work when no one is watching. He'd just have to be a regular character with one random click of stealth thrown in somewhere!
I've actually thought about it a lot too (LOVE that movie man!)
Here's some ideas:
The Spleen RCE Incapcitate Energy Explosion
Captain Amazing could actually be kick @ss, but he should be extra succesptible to outwit.
The Sphinx would DEFINITELY need perplex.
Anyways thats all for now, but don't be surprised if the moderators move this thread to either another realms or the indy comics board. It would probably do better there anywho.

What about Mr. Furious? Carpy stats and Battle Fury for all but his last click, then give him decent stats, L/C, maybe Super Strength and/or Toughness? :D
And the Blue Raja! How about 0 damage with RCE, or maybe 0 damage with Enhancement (he won't throw a knife, but a fork in the right place could add to a ranged attack). I'd love to have Mystery Men clix, but I honestly think that the Shoveller stats make him too effective. :D

spleen needs poison, duh

Yeah, but Spleen was dangerous to his own teammates too... you almost need Poison that effects friendlies and enemies. :D

It was indeed a comic! As was Men In Black and From Hell! Mystery Men was a Dark Horse Comic, if I'm not mistaken.
So there IS a chance (although slim) that Mystery Men will be in IndyClix!

Yeah, but most of the Mystery Men in the film weren't in the comic if I am remembering the books. The Spleen was in it, but very different powers. The Mystery Men comic was tied in with The Flaming Carrot. Heck, makes me wanna convert a Carrot figure.

Blue Raja would have Incapacitate, maybe Perplex.
I think Pulse wave would work for the Splean
Casanovava Frankenstien should have Mastermind, Outwit
The disco guys: Thugs, lackies, henchmen and criminals

OK - here's the next one - The Spleen.
Rookie - Range 4, 1 arrow, cost 23pts
SP - 6,5,4,3
AT - 7 (psy), 7, 6 (poi) ,5 (poi)
DE - 14,13,12,11
DA - 2,1,1,1
Notes: Psychic blast represents his ability to bypass defenses. R Spleen is capable of some control of his 'bodily emissions', but after taking damage tends to lose his nerve ;)
Experieneced - Range 4, 2 arrows, cost 43pts
SP - 6,6,5,5,4
AT - 8 (psy) , 7 (psy),7 (inc), 6 (poi), 5 (poi)
DE - 15,14,13,12,11
DA - 2,2,1,1,1
Notes: E Spleen has more control now, but still prone to blowouts! Can now hit multiple targets.
Veteran - Range 6, 2 arrows, cost 57pts
SP - 6 (for), 6 (for), 5 (for), 5,5,4
AT - 9 (psy), 8 (psy), 8 (inc), 7 (ee), 7 (ee), 6 (poi)
DE - 15,15,14,14,13,12
DA - 2,2,1,1,1,1 (out)
Notes: V Spleen has learnt to focus his powers to either damage his opponents, or send them flying. He still has blowouts at the end of the dial, but can direct these to disorientate an enemy (represented by outwit)
I looked long and hard at pulse wave for R Spleen for his first two clicks (cost 22pts) but I preferred the idea of the damage bypassing toughness etc.
Puuka commented that the stats made them too effective. This is probably true (esp the VET versions) but giving them some capability helps visualize them better. Also, if the Mystery Men were ever to feature in Indyclix then they would have to be on a par with the other figures in the set, or those in Marvel & DC as well. And anyway - who wants to design poor characters? (the designer of Constrictor being the obvious exception :) :) )

Can't wait to see the Bowler. Maybe on her last click, her stats plummet as she decides to go back to grad school.
S'funny, I was thinking about this this morning on the way in to work.
Mr Furious could have "Hulk Lite" type stats.
Sphynx Definately has outwit ("He can, like, cut guns in half with his mind") and maybe perplex somewhere on his dial (to represent him talking total cobblers all thi time)
Bowler ought to have at least 3 arrows on her Vet version, and probably gets incap as well.
Dr Heller could have have stuff like Mind Control, Incap, Outwit, Perplex, Support and TK to represent his inventions (Incap = Shrinker, Mind control = BlameThrower, Outwit = almost anything, TK = Canned Tornado etc)
PMS Avenger gets one randomly placed "killer click" somewhere on her dial :)
