Just got home from the movie.
It was better than I thought it would be.
There are hidden things in the movie so watch it closely.
Also saw new preveiws to me for the Hulk and Xmen two.
It's going to be a great year for super hereos.

How do you cram about 15 years of continuity into a 90 minute film? Ask the director of DAREDEVIL, who created a great tone, but that is about all. Everything happened too fast, too much was happening.

I can't pan the film completely, because it had it's fun moments, but there was no real driving opposition to DD -- no comflict, which was my only (ONLY) complaint about SPIDER-MAN. KINGPIN is a character that needs 2-3 films to torture DD, only to finally be brought down at the end of film 3. BULLSEYE was fun, but should be the one thing standing between DD and Fisk. ELEKTRA is "killed", which would have made a great ending to film #2, ending on a sour note and elevating the intensity between DD and his enemies. The whole time you have this great character in Ben Ulrich digging into the DD/KINGPIN saga, feeling certain that Matt is DD by the end of film #1, proving it in film #2, and showing a kind of loyalty/respect for him after that... This movie never gave Matt & Elektra's relationship to evolve, and adding more drama to her death. I really wish #1 would have been more lawyer by day, vigilante by night -- seeking out the guilty that escape the justice system as he tries to find clues that will bring him the KINGPIN...

My favorite scene was after Matt lost his sight, and awoke in the hospital. GREAT!!!!!

Too much, too soon, too fast. Affleck did his best, but in the end it wasn't enough.

I thought it was pretty good - on par with X-Men, which I was in the "liked, but not blown away by" camp. Not up to Superman/Spider-Man standards, but much better than I thought it would be when it was first announced.

ok.....

Now that I know pretty much what happened in the entire movie, I can go ahead and wait for video.

Spoiler alert would have been nice....

I agree, Stinger. I'll still probably go and see it tonight, but I really didn't wanna know what was gonna happen.

:(

As for the comparison to Spider-Man and X-Men and the like, I must be the only person on Earth who didn't think Spider-Man was all that good. I personally preferred X-Men.

I really enjoyed this movie. It did move fast, but that's been the trend. My only really complaint was the jagged fight scene near the beginning of the movie. It just seemed to be really roughly cut together.

Bullseye was great! I thought Colin Farrel did an awesome job giving the character life. There a great scene with him on a plane, that had me rolling.

I'd say more, but I really don't want to spoil anything.

I agree with the above statement, a huge amount of continuity was crammed into the film, but I sensed (not with radar-sense) a movie-company "we need to put as much in this as possible just in case of a sequel" attitude. A shame in a way, cuz it was the only thing that stopped a very good film from being a great superhero film. A lot did happen and in places the plot felt very rushed, but I do think they made a very good effort in keeping the film "pretty true" to the character/mythos of Daredevil.

I loved the way the "radar-sense" was shown, I loved the way Daredevil moved from rooftop-to-rooftop. The actors all did a pretty good job of playing their roles, however, none of the main characters were ever given a chance to really "stand out", there seemed very little showtime for each of the main characters since all that continuity was just thrown into the plot.

It's a very good superhero movie but this was no "Spiderman" or "Batman Returns", which to me, were the closest representations of a true Superhero film yet. Still, it'd be too unfair to give it 7 or 7.5 out of ten, and too generous to give it 9 out of ten. So 8-out-of-10 is what I'd give it.

Here's hoping that Hulk or X2 will provide a little more "plot substance"! If there is such a word....!

In regards to the spoilers, that is exactly what I figured would happen. I should write the next one.

I really liked it. I expected it to be hokey but they actually did a great job with the film. It did move quickly, but I think that is a lot better than when a film drags.

Also, someone said that they predicted what would happen and they could write the next film? Of course it's predictable, it's from a COMIC BOOK. At least they kept it very close storyline wise.
