3D Map

I built this map from the marvel heroclix starter map. I have made a couple of these for people. I listed one on ebay. Here is the link for those of you who want to have a look. I have had a lot of emails about this map and thanks to everyone for their input.

what you need to do is make some short green blocks with the tree patern for the shrubs and trees (building front 1X1 and park 2X2) Maybe make them 1 inch high

why are the buildings proportional to the sentinel and not to the regular sized figures, whice are correct scale?

They look pretty good, but I've got a couple of questions.

1. Why are the buildings the same size? The way I've always imagined it, they would be different sizes. Or at least that's what I did with my 3D models. Was it a time constraint?

2. For the trees, why not just use little trees that Toy Train collectors use? They'd be fine with some kind of base on them to allow the figures to stand on them.

3. Did you make a slide? Or is that just the reflection?

4. Actually, there's no question here. Just saying that it looks great again!

I had thought of making the buildings different sizes. I made them all the same size for time constraints. I can make them whatever size someone wants. My pattern is easily adaptable.

I tried to make the buildings about three stories tall. I purposely left detail off of the building. My original and prototype had doors and such cut into them.

No, none of the buildings have a slide on them. The stairs are cut at different elevations though.

I do have plans to cut squares with scrubs on top of them. That way you can have your figure stand on top of them or you can just remove the block when a figure occupies the square.

I just remembered why all the buildings are the same height. According to the rules, players can shoot from rooftop to rooftop. But with different height buildings one rooftop might be able to shoot to down on the others but they can only shoot up if the figure is on the building's edge.

I bought the 3d map being sold on ebay and I have to say it is awesome. It's cool to have blocking terrain and the whole thing. There seems to be a new element to the game now.

I've built 3-D maps when I was at Kinko's, the ONLY privilage of workingthere. I think I've used it once. It's too bulky to carry around. I will give you major props for your work, though, you've done a great job.

Is anyone is willing to trade for a map let me know. The flying figures that are listed above I am wanting still sealed in the bag. I am trying to put together a set for myself and these are all the figures that I am lacking.

Priority mail is how I ship out the map. I have a box that fits all the map and the accessories. I then pack the empty space with foam or other packing supplies, depending on what the situation calls for.

You say the buildings can support you at 175 lbs.(ebay descrption) what are they made from. And you say they are 5 inches tall how many stories do you think that should be.

The buildings were designed to be about two stories tall. Give or take. 5 inches is just a well rounded number.
Everyone asks what the buidings are made from. Little foam. A lot of physics. I can't give out all my secrets.

I have also started making bushes for the maps as well. So far I have made two maps and both people said that they liked them. I unfortunately did not get any pics of them. I will be leaving Tuesday for Motor City Comicon in Detroit. I will be back the following Monday night or Tuesday morning. I will be taking orders for maps when I get back. My eBay auctions for the maps will soon include a Sentinel or Sinestro and the outdoor adventure pack, all of which will still be sealed.
