I love the Avengers so I thought I would just start rambling on about them. It is hard to decide how to make an avenger team when there are so many choices with close to 1000 points in figures currently.
Captain America-Any version of this guy is great, but I espescially like the E or V versions. We all know he has a beast of Defense vs range. Plus leadership and stealth or charge, makes him a solid figure that can be a great secondary threat. Then when this guy is hurt he gains outwit to help as a support figure. He is my favorite super hero so he always is on my Avenger teams.
Vision-In my opinion this is the best figure on the Avengers, and one of the best pieces in the game. People question his playability because he only has 2 damage. However he has Superstrength to counter that. I love to have him carry a good close combat figure(Like Hercules) to an enemy and have the figure he carried slam the enemy. Then he can deal 4 damage later on with his item. Then when he is hurt, he can phase himself and another figure away to see the medic. Another great thing is his unchanging dial. This guy starts out at 11 attack and never goes below 9 attack. 10 clicks of life, Toughness/Invuln, and a good defense keep him alive for a long time. His damage stays at 2 until his last click of life. He starts at 9 speed and never goes below 7 as well as keeping phasing his whole life. This guy has a deep dial so that he is a threat even when he has been hit for plenty of damage. Definitly a very good figure.
Hercules-Ok there may not be much to him, but he is great all the same. Super strength until death, toughness for almost as long, a starting damage of 4, and plenty of life. He is one of the best super strength characters.
Thor-Don't mess with this guy. As an Avenger in R/V versions he has two very different point values that can be played. The Rookie can be a key part of your team but doesn't have to be your only threat. The Vet is most of your team, but he comes with the stats to back him up. High damage, High Attack, Good Defense, and Running Shot makes this guy a great threat at range. Then with super strength he will pound characters in close combat too. He has lots of life and Invuln/Toughnes to keep him alive for a long time. I don't like to use his Vet much in 200 or 300 point teams but above that and he is a very good choice for a great team.
Quasar-Well I like this guy alot, but he his very pricey for the low damage. I have not played him much at all. Some help with playing Quasar would be appreciated.
She-Hulk-Oh, man is she one tough green girl. Charge, Invuln, and Superstrength. Similar to Hercules, another great brawler for the team.
Hulk-Ok, rookie Hulk is good. The only reason I do not play him is because he was an Avenger for so little time that it is hard to see him as an Avenger at all. But overall, he is yet another great brawler for the Avengers.
Quicksilver-Fast, annoying, low point cost, potential for 4 damage in one action, and good defense vs range. This guy is a great deal at 24 points. For that much you get a figure that can do so much for the team.
Hawkeye-Well, I do not think he is as bad as everyone says, but he is not that good either. Still he does see plenty of playing time just because he is Hawkeye. I like him and play him frequently.
Black Panther-Best outwit figure in the game, enough said.
Scarlet Witch-She gives you the great combo of free move and probability control. With plenty of clicks of PC she is useful until you see the three KOs.
Black Widow-The winner of the worst avenger award.
Wasp-A free move taxi is pretty good. Not to mention incapacitate and high defense. The Unique even has leadership to help out even more. She is a must on almost any avenger team.
Ant-man-Well a high defense coupled with Incapacitate and stealth, you end up with a great figure, too bad he is so hard to get.
