Hello people of earth,
I'm looking to make some star wars clix using star wars minis on standard heroclix dials and I need some ideas for good dial matches keeping in mind that 95% of my extra dials are marvel stuff and I'm mostly looking for original trilogy characters. Can anyone help? Thanks!

What sort of dials are you looking to include in your set? Just the key characters? R/E/V versions or Uniques? Classic Trilogy, Prequels, Expanded Universe or the whole lot? There's an awful lot of potential ground to cover in that galaxy far, far away...
For my Star Warsclix, I stuck with the classic Trilogy. I made most of them in the early days of Heroclix, so there weren't any dials that fit the bill. I used the Online Dial Maker to create custom dials for them. My dial needs were often determined by the figures in my collection. Luke got an R/E/V to represent his ANH/ESB/RotJ versions, while Chewbacca got a Unique since he stayed the same and didn't change his appearance. Unfortunately, I don't have many pics of them. Just these two-
Han Solo (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/album.php?albumid=225&pictureid=2011)
Chewbacca (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/album.php?albumid=225&pictureid=2010)

Star Lord from the newest set for ROTJ Han Solo (Defenders=Rebel Alliance)…other than that…maybe the Secret Invasion Iron Fist for a ROTJ Luke (Wild Card=Jedi Knights), if Regen isn’t pushing it too much.

I'm basically looking for classic trilogy characters, one piece per character, and I don't feel tje need to make a complete set, I'm only going to use stuff I find in star wars minis dollar bins.
I like the Han Solo idea a lot! I've already got an extra star lord dial lying around.

Princess Leia- SHIELD Sniper from Sinister. Not many people realize just how good a shot Leia is. She doesn't miss, period. The only time she doesn't hit anyone is if she's laying down supressing fire. Otherwise, it's one shot, one kill.
Chewbacca- Gorilla-Man. No real explanation needed here.

I used Vet Spymaster for Lando.

Starter Dr. Doom= Emperor Palpatine.
Any Indy clix with stealth and blades - Ewok
Repulsor rage

Supernova Kree would work well for stormtroopers

in the past ive used vet science police for stormtroopers.
rce to represent their blasters, esd for their armor, and low attack value since they cant ever seem to hit the broad side of a barn.

Any Indy clix with stealth and blades - Ewok
...and Leap/Climb. Those little buggers are always lunging and pouncing.
For 3PO...Legacy Oracle. :p

I've tried to think up a good Leia, maybe probability control would work well with a good range/attack to represent her leading and also aiming dead on. Rocket Raccoon came to mind, as she'd share a TA with Han also, though L/C and Super Senses may not be the most accurate (though she is Vader's daughter after all, and Edward Nigma has L/C called "secret paths of the city", so it's not necessarily her bounding around so much as being witty, studious of the area, and evasive).
I like Gorilla Man as Chewie, Monsieur Mallah could also work in that capacity (though I know he's DC again, so likely not one you have from your description)
Doom is a great Palpatine, I could also see SI Skin Suit Doom being good if you happen to have an extra, mystics is a nice 'vengence' team for a Dark Sider.

Hate to bring a bunch of Star Wars geek into this, but the stormtroopers on the Death Star were given orders not to kill Luke, Leia, and Han because Vader wanted them to escape with the tracking beacon on board. In the majority of the books the stormtroopers are bad###, they are the elite troopers of the empire. So you might want to go with a better dial than the science police. The science police are perfect for regular troopers, but for stormtroopers I would go with the Kree Captain (Exp. Kree generic from Supernova).

I'm amazed at how awesome they are in the book...and how truly accurate a portrayal Spaceballs did in showing them cross-eyed when they parodied the movies.

Okay so here's the list of pieces I'm going to make in my first batch, based on the singles I was able to buy (I've added notes after going through my doubles):
Darth Vader
Rebel troops - Jimmy Woo's and Sharon Carters?
Admiral Ackbar - Dum Dum Dugan?
storm troopers - Im thinking people with the sinister syndicate TA, mostly electros...
Han Solo - I think I'm going with star-lord on this one.
Chewbacca - I like Gorilla Man, but are Regen and leap climb accurate? What about Experienced Valkyrie? Too powerful?
Princess Leia - I think I'm going With the Raccoon...
r2d2
Obi-Wan
Yoda
Ewoks - I've got two, I think they're going to be Rookie Wild Child and Owl (I've got one with a skull for a crown, looks like a leader type)

Wookies live amoung the trees, leaping from branch to branch. They have claws obscured by their fur which allow them to easily cling onto the sides of trees as well. As for the Regeneration, in most of the Expanded Universe material the Wookies are portrayed as having the ability to heal fairly quickly. To be honest, it's not exactly Wolverine level fast, but that doesn't matter. If you look at all the characters who have Regen in Heroclix, alot of them don't heal all that quickly in the comics.
The Ewok with the skull for a crown sounds like Logray. He was the Ewok shaman. In RotJ he didn't really do much, but I seem to recall that he possessed some Force abilities in the two Ewok movies and that horrible cartoon. Since the Ewoks have never heard of the Force, they just call it magic.

I modded a Darkseid to Darth Vader using a Star Wars Mini. It looks awesome. Vader standing on all that rubble. The powers all make sense too, IMO. Phasing Teleport is a Jedi's Force Jump. The Omega Beams represent Vader's Force Sense, Force Choke, and Force Push/Pull etc...
Hope that helps,

Darth Maul = Spider-man.
The only one with the same dexterity. SI Spidey with Flurry is great for double bladed lightsaber. And with some perplex encouragement from Palpatine he can easy dish out 10 and drop Qui-Gon.
Darth Vader = Aries Either one. Super Evil close monster
Mordru = Palpatine The dark lord. Nice touch with EE and Psy Blast.
Devil Dino & Moon Boy = Rancor and Rancor Keeper whose name Eludes me momentarily RAAAAR!!
Vanisher = Obi-Wan in Episodes 5-6 I appear randomly and do little else.

If Kree troops and storm troopers Ronin would be good for Vader. Incap for Choke, 4 damage 12 attack, +1 to attack for troopers.

Malakili ;)
Obi Wan, post death = Oracle on the ICWO card
Jedis seem to all have TK, leap/climb and incap (force choke - Yes, Luke uses it in RotJ), ESD (lightsabre deflection) and Perplex (Jedi Mind Tricks)

That's a good idea. I chose V Ravager from Legacy. Probably not the absolute best (I do like the flurry from SI Spidey), but I like the front click of stealth/BCF that changes to Leap/Climb with BCF. Super senses, some rear end willpower and perplex were also nice features.

Thanks guys! This is for a christmas present by the way, so I'm rushing to get them done, I just don't know that much about Star Wars. I settled on Gorilla-man for chewy by the way, thanks!
Any ideas for R2D2?

Chewbacca - I like Gorilla Man, but are Regen and leap climb accurate? What about Experienced Valkyrie? Too powerful?
I actually prefer E Valkyrie a lot. Gorilla Man looks like Chewy, but I don't think the powers fit that well. Plus with Val you get to use the same TA as Han.
r2d2
The only dial I can find that kinda works is Yukio from Indy. Enhancement, Toughness and a little Phasing for his flight boosters.
Obi-Wan
How about Johnny Alpha from Indy? Stealth, TK, Super senses
WelcomeToDIE
12/23/2009, 03:19
what about badoon commander veteran from Supernova for Artoo? Enhancement for support of teammates, aquatic speed for his underwater sensor like in ESB, Stealth and Skrull T/A for blending in like a generic droid, smoke cloud for his fire extinguisher, incap/energy explosion for his various shocker type gadgets.
Also I second Exp. valkyrie, if it isn't to late to change. A bit more accurate to Chewie and shares TA with Han and Leia.
That's awesome that they're a present! I'm making my friend an Optimus Prime for Xmas, I think I'm gonna go with SI Ironman with the new "Pym Particles" card built on to make him a giant, though HT Thor could also pass for a Vet version...decisions decisions lol
I just posted something like this in dreams and desires and was wondering if you guys could help me with these characters:
Mace windu
Darth Vader
Darth Maul
Luke Skywalker
Plo Koon
kit fisto
Obi-wan
Storm and Clone troopers
Darth Sidious/ Emperor

not to state the obvious but wouldn't solo be a good representation of han solo.
HoT daredevil for luke, super senses plus his special for leap climb/ignore stealth I think best represent his use of the force. incap for mind trick, 3 damage exploit weakness for his lightsaber. outwit for his ability to see the future/ make plans as a rebel leader/jedi knight.
howard the duck for r2d2
