View Full Version : Hey Mr. RA, final ruling on Pip & Pluto's powers?

Hey Norm - I was wondering if there's been any errata or clarifications handed down regarding Pip the Troll's SP and Pluto's SP, namely:

Pip: Pip the troll can use Phasing/teleport. He can use it normally, or if he is not using the Carry ability, you can instead move him to any square that he has a clear line of fire to that is adjacent to both a friendly character and an opposing character. If you do, He can make a close combat attack as a free action.

Pluto: When a friendly charcter with 30 or higher point value is KO'd, Pluto may move to the square they occupied after any current actions are resolved. If Pluto does, he can use Regeneration as a free action.

1) Does this "move" require breakaways?
2) Is it limited by the speed value? Corollary: does there have to be a legal path for the movement?
3) Is Pip's "move" a modified use of the Phasing/Teleport power, and does it retain the function of that power?
4) Can Pluto trigger Regeneration on an opponent's turn?

... of course, the first three could be solved by replacing "move" with "place"... I'm hoping that's the case.

My guess is he is waiting for GD as both of these issues are already in his blog list of issues...

You know that he started a thread where you can post your questions? Rather than loading the realms with more threads that are already probably being considered? Might want to post it there, where it belongs.

An official "list of answers" is still in the works. I need to type it up and I have a follow up question or two for WK. One of the follow questions is asking about Pip and if it should be "place" as well. Specifically to your questions:

1. Pip is using Phasing/Teleport, so his break away is base d on that. (So if he's next to a Construct token,he'd still need to roll, but normally, no he wouldn't). Pluto is being clarified to "Place" so this question is moot.

2. Pip is not limited to his speed value. Clarifying this to "place" would obviate the need for a legal path. All part of the follow up question.

3. Yes, otherwise his power would have read more like "Pip can use Phasing/Teleport. Give Pip a power action. Pip can move (but not use the Carry ability) ..." The "use it normally or" indicates that he is using Phasing with a difference of where he gets to go.

4. Absolutely.

Thanks for the (temporary until official list is posted) resolution!

Your point is well taken, but this way I DID get an immediate and useful answer that I knew was already on the launch pad. :cheeky:

Thanks Norm!
