When Box is assigned Pym Particles, does Box no longer meet the feat prerequisites when Mass Absorption is in effect? Or is he considered to have both :g-starburst: and :g-giant: ? If option one is chosen (for some reason), does he have the :g-giant: twice when Mass Absorption is in effect?

MASS ABSORPTION: When Box occupies hindering terrain, he has the :g-giant: damage symbol.

Nothing in that bolded part says that the original damage symbol is replaced (see Earthbound as an example of what that might look like). Basically, as it is written, Box has both symbols.

If option one is chosen (for some reason),

Plenty of reasons: Mass Absorption can be countered (this feat can't), he'd be a Giant the whole time dial instead of just mid-dial, etc.

does he have the :g-giant: twice when Mass Absorption is in effect?

Umm... I guess so, though I don't know why that would make any real difference.

Well, if someone wanted to counter Giant Stride, and he indeed has two :g-giant:, then it would require two Outwits.

I am not sure about that.

Box would arguably have two :g-giant: symbols, sure, but does that really give him two Giant Strides? Wouldn't it be more accurate to just say that Box has Giant Stride, regardless of the source?

Hmm...
A character with the giant damage symbol is a giant character, and has the Giant Size ability and the Giant Stride ability.
Well, much like other things, there is nothing stating that you get it for each symbol.

Does he have the :g-giant:? Yes.
Then he gets *these* abilities.

It's pretty clear to me that he would only get one instance regardless of how many symbols he has.

Right, that was pretty much my point.

Which brings me back to scratching my head about why having two :g-giant: symbols would really matter...

Um, In case you play Monster Hunter and he cancels the SP but not the feat or vice versa?!?!?

Hmm... yeah, that'll work. Dilemma solved :)

Just for soem clarity .. is this the same for Yellow Jacket from SI (the non skrull one) .. His wording says he possesses the giant symbol .. since it does not say anything about loosing the starburst symbol .. or replacing the starburst symbol .. does he have both ...

If i Pymparticles and "shrink" down with yellow jacket ..when he "grows" back up with his special power .. do i still have the defense bonus ?

Both versions (a and b) say:

GIANT MAN: Yellowjacket possesses the :g-giant: damage symbol and can use Charge.

As you noted, nothing says this symbol replaces the :g-starburst: symbol, so Yellowjacket does indeed possess both symbols.

Since Yellowjacket never loses the :g-starburst: symbol, he would never lose the prerequisites for Pym Particles (although it should be noted that only 006a could use the feat, since 006b does not possess the Avengers team symbol).

Sure. Why wouldn't you?

yup, you still have the defense bonus.

it seems screwy, since thematically the defense bonus is from shrinking, but technically its just a bonus, so you are free to have it and giant size (from your SP) at the same time.
