Were there supposed to be cards that accompany them? Our venue could only find accompanying cards for the gold anvils.

Nope its just a heavy object.

Only the gold anvils are special objects and come with the card.

The silver ones are just 3D heavy objects with no special properties.

They are simply a heavy object, nothing more, no card needed.
Ok, a really cool looking heavy object, but other than that, same as a flat cardboard circle with a red ring around it.

are they continuals?

are they continuals?

It functions exactly like a heavy object so it is destoryed once it is used.

And for the record, "Continual" does NOT mean that an object is not destroyed after being used. "Continual" means that the special text of the object remains active after it has been picked up by a character, nothing else.

And, by the way, the anvils are not made of real gold and silver. They're just plastic.

What a gyp. Another example of WizKids/NECA's cost-cutting.

Yes, they retain their object properties when carried.

The properties for this object is to give +2 damage when used as a weapon, and you can throw them as a ranged combat action for up to six squares and deal 3 damage.

I have to assume you're kidding.
At least I hope so.
The chance of them putting REAL silver and gold items in prize kits are only slightly less than the chance of them putting items made of Uru!

BTW, someone on this site has already suggested that with Print and Play, you could print cards for the silver ones and if you felt REALLY industrious you could spray paint them gold!
Gold paint, that is.
Not real gold.
But I'm sure you realize that!:cheeky:

I wonder if there is going to be a rash of players trying to pass off counterfeit gold anvils in tournament play.

When Toon clix was announced in 2006 (and never came to be),there was a real 14c gold Scooby Doo promo.

I remember being at the EAN when they were first announced - and the cheering that filled the room when certain characters (like Space Ghost) came on the screen!
Good times...

It's a cool object, even though it isn't a special object.

I noticed it didn't make it in the newest version of the Player's Guide so I'll send a message to NBPerp to see if he can add it to the PG. That will clear up any confusion between the Gold Silver Anvils.

If I remember right, the Gold Anvil was the anvil that Mjolnir was forged on. I can't remember what was forged on the Silver Anvil.

However, I remember in Marvel Ultimate Alliance, both anvils made an appearance in the game.

I wonder if there is going to be a rash of players trying to pass off counterfeit gold anvils in tournament play.

With Print and Play, this is feasible, and most likely to happen. Just a quick paint job and DL'ed version of the card, and you're good to go.

You'd need to do more than just spraypaint the object - there's printed text on the bottom. That would be hard to reproduce.
