A charging character with Super Strength cannot pick up an object as he/she comes into a square adjacent to an opposing character
so what does this mean? you can't pick up the object if it's in the samne square as the opposing character? or does this mean you can't pick up an object as you go b2b with someone?

Typically, yes... that is correct. There are exceptions (like OWAW Superman), but in general, your movement ends as soon as you enter an adjacent square to an opposing figure. You cannot continue your movement to pick up the object.

That's all the updates??? Sheesh... there were LOTS of issues ruled on long enough ago that they should have made it into this set of FAQs updates.

I have to agree. most of the updates were just clarifications on rules.

Hey, no TAXI rule updates. I thought Dr. Lyu said we'd see a taxi rule change with the next FAQ.

We waited two months for this? *sigh*
At least we finally got an update... but still. They could've at least answered some of the more frequently asked FAQs, such as just how does the lightpost work?
Guess I'll find out in two months
*sigh*

It doesn't matter as they've effectively banned the 3D objects - you can only use them if your opponent agrees. What a gyp.

Glad I never bought those packs then.
Bring out a new, updated, and complete rulebook.
(eg with Indy Clix)
Burn the FAQ. And then...
Play by the rulebook (and common sense !)

Here are the unique changes/updates to the Marvel FAQs:
Fantastic Four Team Ability
Characters with wildcard team abilities (i.e. Spider-Man and Minions of Doom) benefit normally from the FF team ability if the player declared the character(s) were FF members after the attack, but before the character takes clicks of damage from the attack.
Masters of Evil Team Ability
When two or more members of the Masters of Evil are adjacent to the SAME opposing figure, they can all attack that opposing figure using only one of your actions. Mark any character who attacks this way with an action token. All other rules governing attack actions apply as normal. The MoE members must be adjacent to the opposing figure at the beginning of the action, and all attacks must be resolved before moving on to the next action.
Sentinels
Objects destroyed by a Sentinel’s movement leave rubble.
Here are the duplicate changes in both Marvel and DC:
Adventure Kits
Adventure Kit objects are tournament legal, but may only be used if both players agree to their use.
Charge
A charging character with Super Strength cannot pick up an object as he/she comes into a square adjacent to an opposing character.
Critical Hits
Rolling a critical hit means that you hit regardless of what you needed to roll; it does not bypass powers like Super Senses and Impervious, nor does it ignore damage reduction/prevention super powers.
Energy Explosion
If a figure with this power can attack multiple targets, Energy Explosion can be used to target all of them. All the damage done by each “explosion” takes place at the same time, so Toughness & Invulnerability can only stop part of the total damage.
Leap/Climb
Ground based figures with Leap/Climb can attack figures on elevated terrain, but cannot attack soaring figures. Elevated figures with Leap/Climb can attack grounded figures.
Limited Edition Figures
Limited Edition figures are unique. . You may have a multiple unique characters on the same team as long as they don’t have the same name. So, for example, you could play Spiderman and an L.E. Peter Parker on the same team.
Mind Control
The damage from using mind control on a character with a point cost of 100 or more cannot be prevented (even by super powers that normally prevent/reduce damage caused by super powers).
The only unique change in DC was:
Impervious
The dodging part of impervious will work against attacks that don’t normally do damage, but otherwise affect the target (such as incapacitate).
When attacked by a character using psychic blast, a character with Impervious would not be able to use any of the benefits of impervious.
That's it... 11 total additions. The last update was November 4th, so it's been nearly 3 1/2 months since then. Roughly 3 additions per month. Whoop-di-doo.
<groan>
...as I said, we need a competent rulebook...

Okay .... so that EE ruling brings up a question I have. Suppose I have this setup:
ABC
If I target A and C with Energy Explosion, does B take 2? Rulings in the past have seemed to say that B would only take one, but if they're talking about using damage reduction twice, then that would mean that B would get hit twice. Anybody?

Yes B would take 2 damage, but that's how it always worked.

I don't understand where all the confusion is w/ regards to the lamp post. It is very clear:
Light Post
Object does normal damage for a heavy object and incapacitates the taget as if the attacker has the Incapacitate super power.
so damage plus incapacitate, no gray area, very clear!!

I think Dr_Lyu should be banned from these boards. He really is no different than Todd Marrone. These people spread lies after lies and make the board environment very unpleasant.

Here is the gray area for you.
Ok the way I always believed the lightpost should work is:
allows character to deal +2 damage in close combat plus adds a token on opposing fig.
But others have said that since it "gives" the character the incapacitate power you:
reduce charcaters damage to 0, deal 2 damage in close combat (normal damage for heavy object) and puts a token on opposing fig.
There grey area! Not very clear! ;)
VH
But it doesn't GIVE the incapacitate power, It Incapacitates AS IF the character has the incapacitate power. Very big difference. If you ask me, this is clear and you were playing it right.

Right, and IF the character has the Incapacitate power then his damage is reduced to 0. Now as I understand you still get the damage from the object, but you don't get the damage from the characters base damage. So if you were to throw the lampost you would get 2 damage AND Incapacitate the character, but if you were to use it in close combat you would get only 1 damage and Incapacitate. I prefer the whole +damage thing myself, but I can see where veggiehater claims there is a gray area. Do we get the characters base damage in close combat or not???
Yes because the figure doesn't do the incapacitating, the lamp post does. IT has the incapacitate power, not the figure using it. You get full damage points for a heavy object + the object also incapacitates the attacked figure. This is why they built the post w/ a wire inside so you can wrap it around the attacked figure.
