Ok, still a noob here, and am pretty sure this has been answered, but couldn't dig through all the hits doing a search...

Basically, if I outwit a target's Impervious or Invulnerablility, and during the same turn, that figure's defensive power is reduced to toughness, does the outwit still function, or is it only specific against the previous power?

What about if the defensive power isn't just a lower version of the previous, like Invulnerability/Toughness, but a completely new defensive power?

This situation came up during a game tonight, and we went with a yes answer to question 1, but are not in total agreement...

Thanks in advance,

Sorry, Toughness and Invulnerability are totally different things (technically, anyway), so outwitting Invuln and knocking them down to Toughness (or vice versa, with the Hulk) makes it so that the Outwit effect is now lost.

i dont understand how you can just outwit something and have it degraded to something else? if it is outwitted and is not activated for that turn, why is it now considered TOUGHNESS, not just nothing? i m still new to this game...

Ahh, you misunderstand, grasshopper. :)

You Outwit Invulnerability. That character takes a number of clicks of damage, and gets knocked down to a click with Toughness. Any further attacks on that character would have their damage reduced by 1 for Toughness.

The point is, you don't Outwit any powers that may appear in that slot of the dial. You Outwit one particular ability, and if they lose that power, they would gain the use of whatever came next on the dial.

Hope this helps-
