View Full Version : Marvel Daredevil Movie
I just saw the DD movie and I was very disappointed. It's too short. Lacked a plot and any real depth. Bullseye was cool, but Elektra just wasn't very impressive in my book. Though she was beautiful. Daredevil was very careless with his secret identity too. Always showing off and not appearing to be like other blind people.
This must have been the Elektra from Clobberin' Time. Ha!
Anyway, I think they just rushed and put a DD movie together just to profit off of the hype after Spider-Man and before X-Men 2 and Hulk. Very bad product this time around.
On a different note, do we need another Elektra in the new set? I mean, was she even that popular to begin with in the comics. I guess this and the new DD goes along with the movie, but in that case, they could have left off the Clobberin' Time version. It's just stupid when we have so many more popular characters that haven't got one piece yet.
My two cents.
The movie was a bit short yes but I think it was as good as they could make it.
- Yes Murdock was careless with his identity but sometimes in the comics he is too. At the point where he is in the comics, a few people know his identity. Quite a few actually.
- The reason the movie seemed so short is because they HAD to spend a good 30 minutes explaining who is Daredevil, what dirves him, where did he come from and what are his super powers. It is a must when introducing a new character to the movie world or else the mainstream viewers will be confused. They did the same with Spider-Man, the same thing with X-Men and yes they will do the same thing in Hulk.
The sequels should be good because that 30-40 minutes will be invested in something else.
Elektra was pre-death Elektra which explains her poor showing. Post-death Elektra is much more badass as we are likely to see in the sequel if there is one.
The little scene during the generic was a nice touch too.

If you were born in the '80s or '90s, you'll probably like it. Otherwise, the suck far outweighs the cool. They almost had it, but they dropped the ball. Bummer.

I believe some actually are being a bit harsh on it. This was not like other comic related films. Sure, it wasn't has in depth as Spider-Man or action paked like the X-Men, but it was what it is; and thats a #### fine movie. I have never liked DareDevil, not once. But this movie made me actually like the character.
The movie isn't meant to be about saving the world or stopping a crazed hyped up supervillian. It is about a characters vengance coming full circle with the man that killed his father and the woman he loves. Batman will probably never come full circle, Spidey did but it only drives him futher to save the people he cares for. DareDevil, both the comic and the film, deserve much more than what people are giving it credit for. The movie had its flaws, but what movie doesn't? X-Men had a few casting mistakes, Spider-Man didn't last long enough, and Batman 3 and 4 lasted too long.
I guess it is all a matter of opinion on these type of films.
