LEADER OF THE ALLIGATOR ARMY: At the beginning of your turn, each opposing character within 6 squares of Thor, Frog of Thunder that is also adjacent to or occupying water terrain is dealt 1 damage.

Armor Piercing :Damage dealt by this character may not be reduced below 1.

So would AP work with Frog of Thunder's Special Power? It seems to me that it does not explicitly state that Thor, Frog of Thunder deals the damage, but I;m not sure.

Thoughts?

I'm gonna go with no, since it seems like they're dealt the damage from the environment, not the figure.

Of course I could really see this going either way.

I will refer you back to another vague power from Arcade

DEATHTRAP: Once per turn as a free action, Arcade can remove from the game any object 10 or fewer squares from Arcade to which he has a clear line of fire and deal 1 damage to each character adjacent to the object.

It was allowed to put AP on Arcade and have him deal damage due to his special power. I would think that you would be allowed to do with same with Throg but lets see what the deputies have to say.

Throg is the one dealing the damage, so AP will not let the damage be reduced below 1.

Ahh, well if Arcade was ruled like that, than by all means throg can go crazy with AP.

Thirded. A guy at the venue I play at did just this. I didn't get to play him that night, but he won the tourney. That is a pretty brutal combo in the right circumstances, and if your opponent is dumb enough to get near water terrain.

Best part is that you can use Tempest or an Open Hydrant to bring the water terrain to them!! Just too bad that Thor Frog doesn't have Aquatic movement so he can be perplexed by Aquaman's super Perplex...though I guess that probably works like the Brilliant Tactician ruling on Mr. Fantastic's special power...target him first to "activate" the perplex and then perplex up everyone else with aquatic movement...

That doesn't work. He can only ever target fishy guys.

To clarify, Aquaman from Justice League does not work exactly like BT. He can only Perplex characters with :m-dolphin: or :m-dolphin-trans:. Here's the power:
TELEPATHIC COMMUNICATION: Aquaman can use Perplex, but can target only characters with the {Dolphin} or {Dolphin Transporter} speed symbol; he can't target himself. When Aquaman uses Perplex to target friendly characters, he can target all friendly characters with the [Dolphin] or {Dolphin Transporter} speed symbol within 10 squares to which he has a clear line of fire.

Yeah, this power makes sense, the ruling on BT doesn't to me though...not sure why a Frog wouldn't have Aquatic movement in the first place though...

It's simple...
Regardless of how you feel about what the printed card says, you also have this from the PG:
* Any character that the Brilliant Tactician can draw a line of fire to can be the initial target of Perplex. The team symbol/keyword requirement is only for characters perplexed after that.
The inclusion of this in the PG makes it the same as if it had been included on the card itself.

Just to be sure - this also works with Son of Sutur's SP?? You would put the armor piercing of SoS correct?

FAN THE FLAMES: At the beginning of your turn, roll a d6 for each opposing character adjacent to one or more friendly characters named Fire Demon. On a result of 5 or 6, deal 1 damage to that opposing character.

Son of Surtur is causing the damage, via his SP, so AP on SoS would indeed be useful.

Not to pick nits, but I am not so sure here.

The Arcade power specifically says that Arcade is dealing the damage...
DEATHTRAP: Once per turn as a free action, Arcade can remove from the game any object 10 or fewer squares from Arcade to which he has a clear line of fire and deal 1 damage to each character adjacent to the object.
So if Arcade does this, then he also does that.

That is missing from SoS and Froggy. Nowhere does it say that they are dealing the damage, just that the damage is dealt.

Now I admit that I am not looking at/for any other source, so if there is one, then I stand corrected preemptively.

But if SoS or Froggy are dealing the damage, then beware of mystics.

Those are THEIR powers, so they are dealing the damage.

Mystics is no issue as no attack is involved.

Don't forget to bring Attuma:

TIDAL WAVE: Attuma can use Quake and Super Strength. If Attuma uses Quake while occupying water terrain, compare the attack total to adjacent opposing characters normally and to all opposing characters adjacent (but not occupying) the area of water terrain occupied by Attuma. Characters adjacent to the water terrain are knocked back from Attuma in a direction of Attuma’s choice away from him.

Tempest lays down the water terrain adjacent to opposing figs, then Attuma Charges/Quakes w/ Armour Piercing to wreak havoc!!

Too bad Thor/Frog does not have the Atalantis keyword!
