the issue with multiple versions each set (elektra, wolvie, spidey, hulk)

i'm just thinking, why are many people aggravated with having one of these in each set?

these (well, IMHO with the exception of elektra - didn't know much about her til i started collecting heroclix) are marvel's most popular characters. if they only made 1 unique or 1 set of R/E/Vs for these guys, there is no way they can please all the fans. if they make multiple versions, everyone will have a chance to have their "favorite" one, the one that they are content with.

i mean, when do you think we'll see another version of professor X with psychic blast? or magneto with battle fury? or captain america with close combat expert? (soon, i believe. they've been talking about him). hey, i'm glad they corrected the spiderman super senses problem quickly, actually.

one of the complaints is that we'll have to wait another set until silver surfer or whoever comes out, and wolvie's just taking up another slot. well, how long do you guys expect heroclix to last? if they made every popular figure in the first 2 sets, where's the excitement in the future ones? unless you want nightmare and titania to be the major players in future sets, you'll be seeing many of these marketable figures in every set.

i think it's just smart marketing, and it doesn't hurt the game so much. useless figs appear in every set. doesn't matter if it's the 5th version of elektra or the 1st one of silver surfer.

and as many wolverines there are out there, i'm still gonna try to get them all. having too many of them doesn't make them look any less cool...

I hear that. I don't mind the different versions, unless they're ####py ones takin up r/e/v slots in a set *cough*ctelektra*cough*. I'm hopin we get hooked up with a Cosmic Spidey one day :) And once they start with different Iron Man armors, they should have a unique "Stoney Starks" (The name that stuck with him since my friend called him that drunkenly one night in a game of Marvel/Capcom 2) with him holding a couple cans of booze, an a small puddle o puke below him :p Give him some high defense an some perplex, an you got a winner there!

I think some of the complaints have been about what we got - CT Elektra is one of the most useless figures we've seen so far, and some people are annoyed that Elektra's about to get her ninth figure while Thor has three and Captain America has four (for example). Elektra's fairly significant, but not one of marvel's four biggest characters - she's only occasionally had a solo title.

Wolverine, Hulk, and Spidey have had fewer complaints - in part probably because Logan was very, very useful and Hulk and Spidey only received uniques. I think people have accepted that Spidey, Wolverine, and the Hulk are probably going to be represented in every set.
