Clarification on F4 ability in FAQ?

Here's the new FAQ on F4:
"Characters with wildcard team abilities (i.e. Spider-Man and Minions of Doom) benefit normally from the FF team ability if the player declared the character(s) were FF members after the attack, but before the character takes clicks of damage from the attack. "

Someone please explain this to me, because "after the attack" to my thinking means "after the dice are rolled", and I have been told time and again that after the dice are rolled, you can't change team abilities until after damage is assessed. Is this another change or just poor wording?

I suspect that means something like this.

Player A says "I'm going to attack your Doombot".

Player B says "He's now FF team".

Player A rolls dice.

Attack is resolved.

An argument could be made that the ruling implies that it can be declared after the dice are rolled but before the figure is physically clicked, as well - they've worded it very oddly. But I would say it's safe to declare it after the attack is declared, regardless.

I would say its a new change but only applies to FF and wildcards in that exact situation.

Thanks, bj. "After the attack is declared" would have made a lot more sense, and is in line with prior rulings. Who do they have proofing these FAQs?

who they have proofing these things i have no idea but all in all i think that the addition to the faq was just a technicality more so for those people in the tourneys (not all of them) that are real sticklers for this stuff. but hey i could be wrong
