This is nealry what happened last game between me and TMNT until in true Flash like Fashion he got impatient and went for a foolish attack and boom hammer lowers game over after that
I've seen games finished before Turn 6.

I don't think I've ever seen a game without an attack thrown before turn 10....:confused:

Yeah, I think TMNT does a good job of establishing a tempo in the game that's best for the team he's using. In college basketball, it's very important to set up a good tempo whether it's slowly grinding it out or really high-scoring and fast. And if you can make sure that the game is going according to the tempo you want, you can limit your opponent's strengths and bring out your own.

Some teams with really cost-efficient attackers that are all capable of dealing real damage to anyone on the board can benefit from blitzing the opponent, while team's like TMNT's require maneuvering. When you have two teams like this that are both trying to maneuver, it can turn out to be pretty slow like this, but that doesn't mean it's not a great game!

no disrespect taken. i don't want to give you any tips but this double barrier darkseid with fortitude against my team (especially with 3 CP +2 perp) could be way more agressive and probably killed most of my team by now (when you had phasing) when i moved to the middle. i haven't had a viable target the entire game. i was trying to maneuver in but when i realized you weren't moving out of that position or going to bait me (which i would have taken! :) at least earlier in the game) i backed off. but i would like to continue to the end.

Zoom HSS to destroy two pieces of Barrier with his HSS and flurry.

TK Mind into position. Peprlex his attack up +2.

MC Darkseid. (with PC as support for the attack)

MC'd Darkseid takes out Cold in one shot.

No more double barrier.

If he wanted to after that, he could leap climb OMAC to base Darkseid and protect his higher point figures. :noid:

That is a good idea, certainly. I actually did come up with a good one, too, I think.

Well, if he makes that shot, he's only real possibility is to hit Cold, and he won't make it til the very last turn at this rate.

Which means, he gambles that in my last turn I will retaliate and one hit KO one of his characters, which are all worth more than cold, and then i win.

Had he done this maneuver before the last turn, he might have been able to win the game, but at this point, this maneuver is very risky.

agreed i would have 1st attack potential in almost any scenario..you have to evaluate the cost benefit of me MAKING an attack versus the cost benefit of him TAKING that attack. keepin in mind that darkseid moves into mastermind/invuln......essentially me making any attempt to take down darkseid would be foolish.

any attempts to break down the barrier with zoom would have resulted in zoom getting incapped barrier from icicle then KOed for 7 damage 14 attack...all for a mind control of 12 v 21 where i would take 2 damage and have no real followups (DS still keeping a 21 def from range). yeah, that was never going to happen. my first attack advantage is not much of an advantage when my big fig is being used to break down barriers then die. and i don't think omac ever had enough move to base darkseid without perplex. Turn 6A i was preparing for the KO on icicle which would have left Zoom trapped in the room if you positioned correctly + OW. but a KO on icicle would have been good bait....cold not so much. yeah, we can just roll off now if you want.

Honestly from what I can tell, it's not so much 'no retaliation' more 'no retaliation that wouldn't completely cripple his team and lead into a route'.

Again.. he could have gotten OMAC into position... blah blah blah.. and an attack on Zoom wouldn't even KO him.

And there was no real alternative for me, I can't match his mobility, and Zoom can single handily take out two of my support pieces in one action

Does it matter? 2d6 has a much higher chance of getting a tie, and I only wanted to roll once. So, 1d20 seemed like the best bet.

I just assume the higher the number the harder it is to beat it. :ermm:

For instance, you roll a 39, I have a 1 in 40 chance of beating it

You roll an 11, I have a 1 in 12

It does effect the odds. Plus I just assumed we'd roll as if they would in real life

I'm going to take a commissioner's decision here. I chose to roll d20's, and that's how it's going to be.

In response to the 'odds' I see it as you have a 1-in-20 chance to get a certain number, and the opponent has a 1-in-20 chance to get another.

Sure, once one roll is rolled, you get percentages based on how high the number was...yadda yadda yadda. It's the same concept in 2d6 as well. He rolls an 11 you have a 1-in-36 chance in beating it. He rolls a 7 there's a just over 50% chance in beating or tieing it.

So, they're only marginally different in odds. And, the chances of getting a tie, are well, 1-in-20 after the first dice is rolled. 2d6 is far more likely. And I didn't want to have to roll twice :)

eh. 10% feat cap is out the window, drafting opposing universe is out the window, we have rules aplenty just added in.

In my head 2d6 is there because in the physical game of heroclix, 2d6 is what we use for damn near everything. If there was a reason to use d20's in Heroclix, I'm sure it would be that. Here, we have the options.

And really though, it's at the judge's discretion what you use. Consider this a house rule :cheeky:
