650 points, arkham asylum and HoT only

The local shop wants to run a 650 point(I know:ermm: ) Arkham Asylum and HoT only. No cardboard. Can only use commons and uncommons and NO duplicate figs. Prize is Thor/Loki duo, which I would like to win.

Bill carries detective for RS. WW perplexes up Moonstone then gets TK'd in to take care of any stealth.

Any suggestions or alternate teams?

I'd prepare to see a lot of common Thors, as his stats are simply through the roof. If your team can handle him, you're probably set.

That being said, I'd probably use AA Future Batman to his fullest for the stealthed Outwit or Per Degaton for the high d/v plus Outwit and PC (or both!).

Riddler Perplexes down the high D/Vs of the HoT figs and Outwits their defenses, Robin Perplexes up Zoom's damage so he can run out and Flurry. Beta Ray and Moonstone provide ranged back-up, and Karnilla either Psychic Blasts or provides Mastermind fodder for Riddler and Batman adds more Outwit and close combat options.

I like using theme teams whenever possible, so since WW has the warriors keyword I'd probably go with something like this:

Asgardian Warrior - 37 x2
Valkyrie - 38
Balder - 130
Beta Ray Bill - 159
Wonder Woman - 248

Total - 649

Now I just came up with this in a couple minutes, so feel free to tweak, but if it was me I'd be playing something at least similar to this.

Thank you Forrest for actually paying attention to ALL of the rules. I like the team, but I think it will have a really hard time hitting some of the higher DVs in those sets.

= 623 points. Asgardian keyword, 3 PCs. Ulik and Rock Troll make good meat shields/tie up against enemy Thors (who you WILL see in EVERY MATCH). The Valkyrie can heal and taxi, and the Warrior can serve his role, too.

Rurouni's team is excellent -- I bet you will see lots of teams like that. The amount of damage, and the ability to hit high DVs, is amazing in HOT. The only thing I'd tweak is that I'd drop the Rock Troll and add Karnilla -- for 64 points, she brings something useful on every click. This would bring your team to 642. (The one thing I don't like is that the As. Warrior and Valkyrie's special power keys off "Asgardian + Diety", and Thor is the only one on the team that can provide that -- if he goes down, you lose a lot in both of those generics. I'd wonder if I could get the other Asgardian + Diety -- Balder -- into this team as well.)

I can't pull up Balder's dial, but I remember that he doesn't get a ranged attack until near the end of his dial, right?

You are trading a big chunk of flying ranged combat on this team by getting rid of Beta Ray Bill -- On this team, Thor is the ONLY ranged figure you have (he's a beast, of course) and the Valkyrie has Running Shot at the end of her dial, which she may or may not land on.

Not that you have to have another flying ranged combat figure, but understand what you are giving up by taking him off the team.

Thank you all for your suggestions. personally, i KNOW at least one person is playing a THor and Wonder Woman team and everybody else will be playing Thor for sure. My idea is to try and Nerf Thor either by hitting him hard with a big brick(i.e. Wonder Woman carrying a heavy and a +1 from perplex, not by herself though) which would require a TK figure OR by having a lot of stealth on my team and require him to come up close burning a turn and swarming him. I like all of the teams, but I think I will stay away from playing Thor. He is a lot of points and I think tha Balder and Beta Ray Bill can get the job done if I go that route. please keep the ideas coming. Remember, Arkham Asylum is playable and I don't necessarily care if my team is a theme team or not.

3 outwits, and 1 prob. Thor is gonna get the first strike on you whatever you do. Even with TK he's got a 15 swing and wonder woman only has a 13. Bi Beast can tie him up when he does go for the shot. Gonna have to use the expendable parts of the team (most of it) to block lines for outwit and attacks. All the TK available is way to expensive so I'd just skip it.

If I were you I'd conform and go with thor. With the restrictions in this tournament he is probably the best piece available. And you can keep a valkyrie back in case he gets hit to support him.
