Since I didn't bother trading for many of the Special Objects, and since Print and Play is in effect, I was thinking of constructing some fun 3D versions of popular Special Objects.

The three that come to mind instantly are Phone Booth, Meteorite, and Eleha'al Vine. Each would be easy to do (to be honest, I could probably easily find suitable versions already made at Hobby Lobby), and all I would need to do would be to print out the rules for whatever I want to use.

What other Special Objects are popular enough to try to make a 3D version? What would you do to make them?

The Tombstone and the Kinetic Accelorator both get lots of play time around here.

Several of our local players already use the tombstome 3-D object from Horror Clix (possibly from the starter?).

No idea where to start for the KA though.

Tombstones! These are from Woodland Scenics. It was $20.00 for all of those. A bit pricey, they're the perfect scale and they're painted already!

Do any of them say "I would rather be here than in Texas"? Cuz then I'd buy a bunch.

Phone Booth, I haven't done yet.

Meteorite, I just picked up blue and green fish tank clear translucent rocks. They actually look like Kryptonite.

The Vine, I tore off the bush from Bronze Tiger and used that as the object.

The Tombstone, I used the tombstone from Horrorclix.

In fact, I've got 61 3D objects...I suppose I should take pictures of them and post 'em in my album.

I use the laser turret from the Halo Actionclix as my Laser Turret. I also have a repainted IC Captain America figure to look like a bronze Statue and a Mage Knight small pool I use for the Dark Couldron

Dollar Tree, Christmas town lamp posts and fire hydrants. May be all gone for the season.

Michaels and such might have longer and on clearance, as well as Holloween town stuff.

While you're at the Dollar Tree (or any $1 or discount retailer) look for toy car or train sets; Street signs, walls, park benches, traffic cones, guard rails, building facades, etc. Small toy figure sets for furniture, picnic tables etc.

Go to the Goodwill, more such options, and 3D boardgame pieces.

You might also take a look at some of the terrain sets from WorldWorksGames (http://www.worldworksgames.com/store/), too. There might be something there that could be usable.

I would actually like to see Neca come up with more comic style objects instead of generic "lamposts". Maybe things as:

Green Lantern battery
Cosmic Cube
Kryptonite
Infinity Gauntlet/Gems
Ultimate Nullifier

Things like that...

First set they release has 2 3-D objects that are exactly what you are talking about, the 2 mjolnir objects. So I think that's a sign of what we will see in the future as well.

Finally getting around to this, my homemade 3d Special Objects with most of them in 3d form with only a handful that needs to be modded/found. They were basically object tokens from the Starters given Special Object properties.

So, without further ado:

name of object: description (my justification for the object's properties)

LIGHT OBJECTS:
Bubblegum Machine: when used in an attack, the target character is automatically knocked back equal to the damage dealt (running/falling all over the gumballs)

Container: a character using this object in an attack gains the Quake power (these things roll around like nuts when loosed, knocking people over; sorta like a beer keg gone wild)

File Cabinet: a character using this object in an attack gains the Exploit Weakness power (reading up on a character's file and finding his weak point)

Detector: characters within 3 or fewer squares from this object has no Stealth power or ability (beep, beep, I see you Batman!)

Horse Stand: a character using this object in an attack gains the Flurry power (y'know, the sort of stand you use to cut up wood? They break apart easily so 1st attack with an intact stand, 2nd attack with a broken piece)

Manhole Cover: +1 to Defense against one attack; this object is not destroyed when used in or against an attack; instead, place this object in a square adjacent to the target (desk-lite + dumpster)

Newspaper Stand: this object is considered to be blocking terrain (ever try removing one from their spot? danged chains! a light object version of the Dynamostat)

Patio Table: a character using this object in a ranged attack gains the Psychic Blast power (round, thin, comes at you at high speeds? it'll hurt)

Scrap Metal: a character carrying this object gains Toughness against one attack (using it as a shield)

Television: a character carrying this object gains the Mind Control power at 4 range (way too much TV isn't good for you!)

Tree: a character using this object in an attack gains the Incapacitate power (light object version of the lamppost)

HEAVY OBJECTS:
Arcade Machine Unit: this object can be thrown up to 8 squares (think The Last Starfighter! basically a HO you can throw like a LO)

Boulder: when used in an attack, the object is split up into 2 Light Objects (rocks) and placed adjacent to the target; the Rocks have no special abilities (one of my favorites)

Cosmic Treadmill: the character carrying this object may use Hypersonic Speed; this object MUST be used in an attack when the character uses Hypersonic Speed (from the AA Jay Garrick figure; time-hopping HSS fun!)

Database Terminal: a character using this object in an attack gains the Exploit Weakness power (HO version of the File Cabinet)

Engine Block: a character carrying this object gains Invulnerability against one attack (bigger and better than the scrap metal bonus)

Fantasticar: a character carrying this object gains the Flight & Carry abilities; after this character carries another character while carrying this object, resolving any part of the action, remove this object from the game (homage to the F4)

Fire Hydrant: when used in an attack, the target character is automatically knocked back equal to the damage dealt (HO version of the gumball machine)

Forklift: a character using this object in a ranged attack gains the Psychic Blast power (HO version of the patio table, those forks gotta hurt!)

Gravestone: a character carrying this object has the Phasing/Teleport power (ghosting about, anybody?)

Hot Dog Stand: a character using this object in an attack gains the Steal Energy power (imagine Thing grabbing a dog as he clunks the stand over an enemy!)

Motorcycle: a character carrying this object has the Charge power; this object MUST be used in an attack when the character uses Charge (superbike!)

Obelisk: a character using this object in a ranged attack gains the Pulse Wave power; the target figure and figures adjacent to the target are affected by Pulse Wave as normal (it sees all, it knows all)

Refrigerator: a character carrying this object has the Plasticity Power (oh, my, what to eat?!?)

Plasma Generator: when this object is used in a successful close combat attack, Outwit one power on the target figure; LOF is not needed for the Outwit (rewrote this LoSH object, it was just a different type of dumpster)

IMMOBILE OBJECTS:
Broken Doom Statue: once per turn when a friendly character friendly occupies this object's square, give this object a free action to make a ranged combat attack (7 AV, 4 Damage, 4 Range, 1 Targets) against any opposing figure; after the resolution of an ranged combat attack using this object, roll 1d6; on a 1, deal 1 penetrating damage to the character occupying this object and remove this object from the game

Infernal Furnace: when a character ends an action adjacent to or occupying the same square of this object is dealt 1 penetrating damage (from the FvJ Horrorclix starter)

Open Grave: this object cannot be destroyed by any means; any movement, including knockback, that crosses the square this object is in is immediately stopped; treat any movement/knockback into this square as falling from elevated terrain (another one from the FvJ starter, this is one of my best creations)

Radar Dish: characters within 2 or fewer squares from this object has every power on their dial null and void (not Abilities, Team Abilities, or Feats that do not depend on powers) (sonar power FTW!)

Stormbreaker: (Silver Anvil) this object cannot be destroyed by any means; once per game per character, give a character occupying the same square as this object a power action and roll a d6. This roll cannot be rerolled or modified. On a result of 5 or 6, remove this object from the game and place it on that character’s card. Modify that character’s attack and damage values by +1, and that character can use Super Strength, Energy Explosion, and the Flight ability. If that character is KO’d, place this object in the square the character last occupied. (just a lesser version of Mjolnir)

Hope y'all enjoyed my take on other objects...I'll be sure to post pictures for most of those objects and many others soon!

I'll also be entertained if y'all would share your thoughts!

Now, I've been hard at work giving the Mage Knight Artifacts Set #1 and #2 Heroclix 3d Object properties so I take my ideas to you for feedback.

I've just nailed Set #1 and should get it soon, but here's what I did for Set #2 (2nd pic on the right):

I'll go from left to right:

The Statue: finally I have a 3d object for the actual Statue from Sinister!

Altar of Sacrifice: an adjacent target character can take a power action to remove a figure occupying the same square as the Altar of Sacrifice; heal target adjacent character 1 click per 10 points of the sacrificed character; at the end of this action, put tokens on the target character so that they have two tokens, this does not deal pushing damage

Knight/Serpent Pedestal: I could use some ideas here...

Altar of Worship: characters that move through squares adjacent to this object must immediately stop; before characters adjacent to this object are given move or power actions that result in movement, they must roll a 1d6; on a roll of 6, they can move as normal; otherwise, the character cannot move; it is not given an action token, but it cannot be given another action or make another attack that turn (basically an object giving out Entangle towards movement)

Fountain of Healing: a character occupying the same square as this object can take a power action; as a free action, the character can use Regeneration

Huge Pool: No idea here either...

Small Pool: ahh, just perfect for the Dark Cauldron!

As for Set #1...that should be interesting. A throne, table/chairs, several vine columns, and several weird looking/demonic columns.

I actually made a Tombstone, and mounted it on a V base from an old figure. Just some clay, molded into shape, and painted gray, with a R.I.P and date written on it. It actually turned out better than I thought it would, and looks pretty cool.

does anyone have any ideas on special rules for the Bat-Signal I made?
http://s975.photobucket.com/home/childochaos

I was thinking something along the lines of:

Ally may take a power action to provide the following bonus until the beginning of your next turn.

Batman Allies get +1 speed, +1 Attack
Batman Enemies get -1 speed, -1 Defense
Police get +1 Defense, +1 Damage

The idea being that the bonus is compounded for batman allies vs. batman enemies, but there is still a representation of morale gain/loss at the sight of the signal. Since the signal lights up, it could be on for the whole turn as a reminder of the bonus =D

That seems fine to me man, but only if they truly have the team symbol to make things more legit =)

have something like Captain Gordon white power...
SUMMON THE BAT: Give this character a power action and choose a target friendly character that is 10 or fewer squares from him and possesses the Batman Ally ability or Gotham City keyword ( does not need line of fire to the target). Put the target in an unoccupied square adjacent to Bat signal. The target can't be given an action until your next turn.
