Hey everyone! I thought you might want to know about something I just figured out!

And that's how to play sealed deck online!

I've found a site, can't say where since I don't think HCRealms will allow me to post it (send an email to me at CyberVenom2001@yahoo.com or PM me and I'll send it to you), that will randomly select the figure for you!

Okay, not the figure, but the number that corresponds to the figures. And before you say "But CyberVenom, there's two 001's!", I've already accounted for that. Here's what I've done.

Numbers #1 - 173 act as Marvel: Infinity Challenge, including LE and U's.

Numbers #174-324 act as DC: HyperTime, again including LE's and U's

Numbers #325-444 act as Marvel: Clobberin' Time, with whats out at the present.

Numbers #445, 446, and 447 represent Sentinel Mark I, III, and VII repsectively.

Numbers #448, 449, and 450 represent Sinestro Rookie, Experienced, and Veteran respectively.

#451 is the Promo Spider-Man.
#452 is the Promo Batman.

I've already playtested it once to see which figures I got (I only did 5, but you can do more), and here's the figures I came up with:

V Firelord
E Weather Wizard
E Vulture
U Dominic Peitros
E Aquaman

Not bad, eh?

Now here's the big question, would anyone want to play test an online sealed deck game with me? There'd be nothing in it for you except a whole heckuva lotta fun! PM me if you do.

(By the way, I'm a big fan of playing with random figures, that's why I'm doing this. :D)

Personally I love the idea of the sealed deck tournament.

It wouldn't be too hard to simulate random figures, but you can go a step beyond just numbering them.

For example:

Boosters have 4 slots.

I could make a program to randomize them and pick roughly as follows:

Slot 1: rarity 1-3
Slot 2: rarirty: 2-4
Slot 3: rarirty 3-5
Slot 4: rairty 4-6

That simulates actual boosters a bit better. It's a good diea though.

Man, that's a great idea! I'd love to play sealed decks online!

THis sounds awfully interesting. I haven't played Heroclix online, but I'd be really curious to try. Presumably I need to download something> Can anyone direct me to what I might need and where to get a tutorial in using it?

You'd have to do something like Vance suggested to get the true flavor. Each slot contains a certain range of rarity, and only 1 slot can give a Unique.

I think Vance has the rarities for each slot correct, or at least very close. But, being the nitpicky-type jerk that I am, I'd point out that the boosters almost always have the 4-6 slot 3rd, not 4th. :)

But that's just me :)

(I may actually chart the rarity per slot on my case of XP when I get it... depends on how anxious my fiancee is to tear through the case! :) )

Gargantua, PM me and I can get you the site I used to figure mine out, and the only download is to get the maps and such.

As we speak on HCRealms, Vance and I are getting the details worked out for an even better version!

Heh you're right about that Earnan but I was just using an example.

I offered to write up a quick program which can be used to randomly generate figures. For anyone with some programming skills it's not too hard.

Hopefully I'll have the first version up within a few days.

So, is there anyone out there who wants to test my version out?

Something I just found out. All the Clobberin' Time's LE's aren't listed yet. So if you get a number that hasn't been listed yet, just go with the next one up. For example, number 443 isn't listed yet. So go with the next one up, which is U Blastaar.

Just to make sure that the first time I tried it wasn't that good (and to blow time since I'm bored outta my skull) I tried that site again, this time with 5 different pulls with 4 figures in each. Interesting stuff. Here's what I got (with it's corresponding number):

Set 1:
#376: R Hawkeye
#397: R Dr. Doom
#262: E Dove
#171: U Wolverine

Set 2:
#129: V Magneto
#92: E Pyro
#279: R Batman
#283: E Superman

Set 3:
#45: V Kingpin
#218: V Riddler
#207: R Harley Quinn
#263: V Dove

Set 4:
#103: R Scarlet Witch
#443: U Blastaar of Baluur
#230: V Blue Beetle
#76: R Prof. X

Set 5:
#174: R Gotham Policeman
#75: V Wolverine
#214: E Man-Bat
#338: E AIM Medic
