i have used both Karnilla and holly both very good the 19 on molly work great no one could hit her but true is she gets hit she is down but she is 43 points and btw Ultron is the man of the hot set and i toke down Air-Walker in one round a few weeks back

well i disagree with you guys on the worst, but i do understand why u picked them!
my top 5 best in worst(in no order) are..
best
1. sif- just a beast and can take a hit and still go . she can get anywhere she wants and carry(umm odin) too!
2.hela- she is my baby! i love her dial from front to end. her sp's are some of the best in the game! nobody wants to hit her, and i love figures that make you think what power to outwit. she is the best at that. i have yet to keep someone from dying, but it's coming!
3. moonstone- how can she be so good and so cheap. i don't fear anyone with her on my team.
4. nico- i have yet to lose with her after the first time i used her. she makes any team whatever you want it to be. i love it!
5. ulik- for 118 points you get (an actual) monster! he just wrecks ppl and if you play him with someone like chief or thing, he won't push! it amazes me that ppl don't like him. position him right and he eats ppl alive!

worst
1. jimmy woo- just a very bland character and doesn't do enough for his points.
2 gert and old lace- sure they're cheap, and their sp's rock, but i just wish they did a bit more!
3.penance- sure some ppl think he rocks, and he kinda does. he should be more powerful, and he's not comic accurate at ALL! he should do more damage when you hit him! what a waste of a awesome sculpt
4.sonbird- she's ok, but the older version is better. in this day and age, that shouldn't be!
5.bi beast- no way this guy gives the hulk a run for his money. i personally think, if you go up against a certain person, your dial should show it. his doesn't any version of hulk will eat him alive with very little effort!

Ulik ? Ulik ?!?

Ok Tony, I know your a much better player than myself , but how can you put Ulik in the TOP 5 pieces in the set ? I would entertain arguments that he is not a bottom five type piece , despite how his power works (psy blast , and exploit push threw) .. but his Defensive Numbers are just TOO LOW.

numbers mean nothing if you're not playing a one on one! on a monster theme you can play yellow lantern, and bam!! instant 18 defense for him and his rock trolls. no matter what the numbers are, unless you have exploit or psy blast he's only taking one damage! any figure will take damage against those two powers.

ulik is an odin killer in my book! tk him up to odin and let him slug it out! sure you'll miss, but the rock trolls will let you re-roll it! i have yet to lose a game with him. even if he's taken out, at leats two ppl are hurting by that time!

My 5 best are in no particular order
1 Heimdall- The man is a beast especially considering how many people try to abuse running shot, charge, and hypersonic. Nasty piece.
2. Ultron- just a great piece on so many levels
3. Cap- this is the first Cap piece I find truly effective and I think it fits well in many scenarios.
4. Fenris Wolf. All the charge and blades on this guy makes him a great play especially for his points.
5. Nico- Great piece and can make any team happen.

i have a hard time deciding my 5 worst. so I will hold off on those opinions for now.

I definitely think Marvel Boy is the worst (for the points).

Molly Hayes has the major advantage: Her point cost. She's easy to ignore, but as somebody who actually had FOUR of the piece, but with multiples being carried by Chase Stein (or a GL) opponents have to decide if they want to 'waste' their attacks dealing with 19 DV + Invulnerability for so few points.

Of course, if you are playing a lot of 300 point W3 teams, I can understand why you are underwhelmed by her dial.

The only vote on the top/bottom five lists that I don't agree with is Molly. Having played her, I have to say that she more than pulls her weight. In a sealed tournament this weekend, she KO'd Bi-Beast, Rocket Raccoon, Captain America, and Jimmy Woo. For 43 points (+ 5 for Loner), she ripped through my opponents and rocked for her points. For Molly to take over 250 KO points is awesome.

Steve, you were a little off about the LE's from the day of Infinity Challenge. Back in those days, judges got nothing at the time of the tournament. You got points for each tourney you ran and the you could go on the Wizkids site and spend them for swag. They never had LE's available, so you could order boosters, T-shirts, or some other Wizkids product. The 3 LE's that would be awarded were 1st place, 2nd place, and sportman. Usually the 1st place was level 4 or higher and they were 3 different characters. I am not sure when, but they did away with the points system and started giving us LE's. They came in after you reported all your events to the store where you were the primary envoy. And later yet, to avoid the confusion, they just started sending it with the prize kits.
The current method is probably the most cost effective for Wizkids and makes the judges happy.

Since I didn't get any HoT for Christmas, I'm going to hold off on my picks until after this next weekend (my birthday is Saturday).

Even if I don't get any on Saturday, on Sunday I'm going to be playing in a sealed, one pack, "Play what you get" Battle Royal and I'll have a little better idea of how I'm going to rate them.

Even before then, I can pretty much guarantee that Owl and Marvel Boy will place in the Worst category...

Well i didn't start Judging until around Fantastic Forces and made it to Level3 at the end "Yeah". Was just assuming that it was that way from the beginning. I know retailers got points but was unaware that Judges did as well. Cool info to know.

Were all those figs she ripped through on their starting clix? Or were they weaken by other figs on your team?

Female Loki w/ Brilliant Tactician
Enchantress w/ Compel
Ulik w/ Inside Information
Rock Troll x 4

There were a couple tactics going on here. During one game I Mind Controlled an enemy piece and moved him amongst the Trolls and ate him alive. Another time I just pushed and pushed and pushed those long Rock Troll dials and did all sorts of damage. And lastly, Compelling Ulik against the Warriors Three did a fair amount of damage as well. I didn't win that game, but it was a good one.

He does have his weaknesses obviously, and I wouldn't put him in the top 5 of the set, but he is certainly not in the worst 5 either.

Air Walker's a given, though.

Karnilla's awesome for her cost though and I just love Molly.

As for the top 5's...surprised to see Penance & Kingpin there :laugh:

Having played a reasonable amount of the set the top 5 worst and best are a bit dependent on the points of the game. My top 5 are

5) Captain America (That power is crazy for just hitting from anywhere. With armor piercing it works really well)
4) Moonstone (A beast for the points and the running shot/psychic blast is deadly)
3) Asgardian Warrior (With an Asgardian Deity person they are awesome)
2) Nico Minoru (great piece with contingency plan or by herself. she can help in many ways)
1) Thor/Loki duo (Big cost but effective in big point games. I mangaged to use it to take down KC Green Lantern in 1 turn and then Airwalker the next turn. Duo ranged attack for 6 hits then 5 is sweet. Remember they have perplex. Also took down Thor's Chariot in another game. Was based by it and hit to the expolit Weakness clix. Went through the impervious and then on the next turn added another 9 clix of damage with a duo attack. Plus I like the sculpt.)

Worst
1) Owl
2) Air Walker (but I want to give him a go in a 1000 point hearlds of Galactus team soon. See how he fairs then.)
3) Songbird (great scuplt/poor dial)
4) Marvel Boy
5) Rock Troll
