Puck
sp 9 8 7 5 (charge then flurry)
av 9 8 7 5
dv 17 16 15 13 (Supersenses then Wilpower)
dm 2 1 1 1 (perplex)
Points 35
Comments, etc. Thanks!
I don't have my Powers Card handy, but the stats look good.
Did you take his "flippy-doo" attack into account? This might be equivalent to Charge (IMO).
Forget my question. I just saw the Green in the column and I do know that is Charge (one of my favorite powers).
The stats that I had come up with for Puck were:
Cost: 30 (Retardog's Formula)
Team: Alpha Flight (which I count as Avengers)
Range: 0 Targets: 1
Speed: 8 8 7 7 6 6
Attack: 10 9 9 8 7 7
Defense: 17 17 16 16 15 15
Damage: 2 2 2 2 1 1
Puck definitely needs leap/climb, his main power is bouncing around all over the place. Charge would be good, but I think LC is better with Willpower, which is his other power. This guy lives his life in pain, and a little pushing shouldn't weaken him. The high defense reflects his small stature and high dexterity.
A good piece for dealing with support.
kaizot
good stats.
I would think that he would be desrving of at least one slot of starting Charge. His ability to tumble and cartwheel from far away and hit an opponent have been shown numerous times in the comics. I think this would be a good reason for Charge. At least for his starting click.
I totally forgot about the inner Demon he is keeping in check inside of him (or has that changed in the last few years). Willpower definitely ranks here for him.

Both are nice dials.
Could someone explain the "inner demon" that Puck dealt with?
The only alpha flight i've really read was the X-men vrs. Alpha Flight mini series.
It mentioned that Puck had a problem, but never went into what it was exactly.
I haven't read Alpha Flight since the 80's and I have since sold off the entire long run I had of the original series so understand I am only giving my remembrance of the Inner Demon thing.
Sometime way before there was an AF, Puck was 6-foot+ and was a mercenary-type guy. On one of his "adventures" he came across some sort of "all-powerful Demon" that looked like an Arabic guy with scimitar and cowl.
The Demons scimitar drained life essences or some such from people. The victims would shrink in stature everytime they were struck by the scimitar. Somehow (it is in the book, but like I said, my memory from nigh 20 years ago is a little weak) Puck (Eugene Judd at this time) got the scimitar and used it to suck the Demon inside of him and used his own body as the prison for the Demon. He had to stab himself with the scimitar to accomplish this and as a consequence he was shrunk down to his current diminutive stature. The bonus was that he never ages as a result.
In that same story the Demon was somehow released when someone else used some sort of super power or something to make Puck grow. This released the Demon and Puck not only grew to his original 6-foot+ height but also aged to his equivalent age that he would be. He was really old with white hair.
He then made the ultimate sacrifice again and trapped the Demon inside him.
This story line took place maybe a year or two before Jim Lee took over as the artist.

Thanks ro_gan... thats a really cool story. I can understand why Puck is most peoples favorite alpha flight character.

I thought that the Black Razor stroyline was pure C-R-A-P. I liked it better when Puck was just an agile, dwarf normal, but then one of my favorite literary characters is Mongo the Magnificent.

I don't know if it was a great story. I sort of took away from the character as he has been established.
I know its great that certain characters can develop out of the writer's hands and basically start writing themselves, but in this case Puck started to become a "sympathy case." He seemed to go from happy-go-lucky to a "why can't I be something Heather will love." (Heather being Vindicator.) I love to see characters develop, it shows their staying power and ability to grow out of the written word, BUT, I don't know, in this case it made me like the character less. I remember reading the AF comics at that time and wanting to slap him upside the head and tell him to go after some other girl. It seemed all the girls up in the Great White North loved him, so it wasn't like the pickings were slim. #ell, even Snowbird was attracted to him! And IMO I think she is better than Heather Hudson any day.

still acting like a pain in the a$$ ?!
If so then I still have to stop myself from tearing that comic to little pieces.
that All in all ruined that team for me !(and I only read them in X-mencrossovers and 1 other story with Quicksilver I think).
