Using darkseid's Special defensive power as an example for my question

lets say darkseid is hit for a possible 4 dmg, would invulnerability -2 and then i still would have the option of transferring the dmg to lets say someone with invulnerability, would that negate the dmg all together?

It's one or the other. Either reduce the damage by 2 and take what's left, or pass the unmodified damage to another figure.

No - mastermind activates when the character would be dealt damage (they are not actually dealt damage). So all 4 get shifted over to the lackey.
