Okay boys and girls, here we have 128 Classic Songs from the 50's and 60's, from some of our Favorite Musical Acts, which will be pitted against one another, Match by Match, Round by Round, weeding them all out until they get to the FINAL MATCH, which will have our two favorite 50s/60s songs face against one another to see which one emerges as Grand Champion of our latest Rock Wars!

As always, this TOC should be voted using a very simple criteria, which song do YOU like more, which do YOU feel you would rather listen to, and which would YOU say is ultimately more deserving to move on. Nothing to do with Classic or not, this is based on personal preference, YOURS. :)

Pretty basic really. Songs are matched up, you all vote on the one you like more, the winner goes to the Next Round, and we do this over and over again until the Rounds are Over. I do ask that you all give objective opinions and votes here, listening to All songs and arguments here within this TOC with an open mind, beginning to end, and base your honest votes from that.

I know we all believe we know all of these songs already, but as always I ask that you please listen to them again with each new match before voting. Thanks all. :)

So without further adieu, why dont we get started with the Next of Many matches to come, in HCRs latest Rock Wars, Favorite 50s / 60s Song!

I now give you:

LIVING DOLL
(Cliff Richard) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OASSebQclSw#t=0m25s)

vs.

SO LONG, MARIANNE
(Leonard Cohen) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZ61su9H5RU)

So what say you all. Which of these songs will move onto the Next Round, and which will fade away back to the time they came?

Not a big fan of either, as has been for these last several rounds, but musically I enjoyed So Long Marianne a bit more, so it gets my vote.

Wow...it seems as if a lot of odd choices are coming here at the end. I really like Cohen as an artist and this case is no exception. "So Long, Marianne" trumphs Cliff Richard for me.

Living Doll was creepy.

Which part was that? The "her hair it's real, don't believe? Just feel?" Or the bit about locking her up in a chest?

I'll add another vote to So Long Marianne

The trunk part, mainly.
I thought the singing was very nice, though.

Good luck with that. The only way I ever get my CDs back from my daughter is if I actually physically take them back.

So Long, Marianne to advance
