Hey All,
I need help with some ideas for a 3 player minimum battle royal. i'm use to one on one play and that strategy does not do very well when you have people coming at you from every side so i need help with some strategy ideas for winning group battles. Thank You All.

Get the other players to attack each other, Survivor-style. Perhaps tell them each privately that the other one said something about their mothers.

Or you try for high defenses, probability control, Protected cards so you look like an unattractive target.

Don't forget Mystics. :devious:

In group battles its all about surviving. So, high defense is really the best idea. TAs that deter are good too, hit and run tactics so you can't be dog piled on.

i know in in one on on you want to build a team with no more then 1/2 your point cost but in group you need to build for every one. and most of them need some kind of range and to do heavy damage over 3.

If you want to be really cheesy you can put Nova Blast on Ultron and then throw him in the middle of your opponent's forces and pulse wave them all at once while they are trying to take each other out. Ultron won't take the pushing damage and you could perplex him up to a 7 damage, so that everyone in a 6 square radius takes 7 clicks. Just don't miss.

First of all, don't use figures that people hate, or you stand a good chance of getting ganged up on. OOTS Batman, Zoom, Skrull Ms. Marvel, and the chase Supermen are probably no-nos. Don't use colossals either, since they're easy targets.

As far as things that you should use, go for figures that are both difficult and painful to attack. Klarion is great for these games; you usually have to base him to attack, then you have to break Super Senses, then you take Mystics damage, then he lands on a good click and is still dangerous. A wildcard abuse team might be best if you're into that kind of thing. The individual figures are usually inoffensive enough not to be singled out, and they're not easy or pleasant to hit when there are other options available.

There are a few ways to build for ffa's. You can build a team of mid level 2nd tier or worse attackers so that you aren't the biggest threat on the board and while your opponents beat down the biggest threat, and get beat up in return, your 2nd tier guys suddenly become more than they can handle.

Or you can build a team that clearly has one figure that is good but all the rest aren't. Its kind of the same idea as the other team except with this one you need to play with the idea that the biggest threat on your team is there to deal as much dmg as possible before he goes down. This means rushing out, into danger, and pushing whenever you can. If it has regen or you have a healer you should expect to lose the piece quickly. If not, you may be able to get it out of harm's way after it takes a few shots and is no longer the biggest threat.

Last, you can build a team with alot of utility on it. Lots of TK, Outwit, PC, and Perplex. Make sure you spread the utility around to help all other players so they will be reluctant to shoot their 'help'.

The other strategies are good ideas also, but the best way, imo, to stay out of trouble is to look unassuming. I don't remember a single ffa game, that didn't involve a colossal, where the biggest beat stick won. I've lost count of how many times the crappiest looking team on the board won.

Also using pieces that none of the other players are familiar with can be a big help. If they don't know the dials, then they will probably try to take down the evil that do know. Indy clix, Alpha clix and comic accurate theme teams like Runaways are all really good choices in these formats.

The only thing wrong with your idea is you cant perplex Ultrons damage up to 7 with the Nova Blast card on him. Its unmodified damage only. But you can up the range or attack up to 15. Its still a nasty combination. Who's he going to miss with a possible 15 attack? NOBODY!

Yes, you are correct. I don't use it, so I overlooked that part.

That team is likely to draw attention to you because of the big target painted on Captain America and Iron Man, but your opponents will have to jump through a lot of hoops to get to you, so there's a good chance they'll just go after an easier target. I think the thing I like the most about it is that Captain America can handle with ease the team you're most likely to run up against: a bunch of Martial Artists wildcarding Batman Ally. He sees through their Stealth and gets a substantial boost to hit their high defenses. Looks pretty solid.
